Chapter 413: Chapter 413: Opening the Wish Treasure Box, Wish Water Cup

Crystal Lynn had her reasons for trying to foster a bond with some of the Four Seasons Deer.

She had tragically lost all her contracted partners during the Zombie Kingdom instance, with the sole exception of Beau, her White Snake with the Petrification Tooth.

Her desire for powerful yet relatively controllable mutated creature companions had grown even more intense.

Although the Four Seasons Deer Alpha was beyond her reach,

if she could successfully establish a connection or even form a contract with an ordinary member of the herd, it would be a huge boost to their combat strength.

Meanwhile, Dexter Luther had dragged Sean Chandler off to scout the relatively safe surrounding areas.

They were hoping to find any overlooked supplies or to draw a more accurate map of the terrain.

Seraphina Sullivan finally had a rare moment of peace.

’It’s time to take a proper inventory of my gains from this trip.’

With a thought, Seraphina’s figure vanished from the RV.

The next moment, she was inside her exclusive Scavenger’s Farm Space.

The farm Space, however, was filled with a warm and cloyingly sweet aroma.

A large area was neatly stacked with all sorts of pastries she had "liberated" from the Divine Kingdom of Sweet Dreams.

Bread, candy, chocolate... some of them were even still warm and soft, as if fresh from the oven.

This place was practically a paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth.

It was also one of Seraphina’s most important strategic food reserves.

Seraphina stored all of these in the refrigerator area she had previously built.

Seraphina looked up at the farm’s "sky."

Unlike the purely conceptual sense of space it had before, the farm’s sky now had a few fluffy, soft white clouds drifting about, like giant cotton candies.

She hadn’t forgotten the scene of her fall when she entered the Divine Kingdom of Sweet Dreams instance.

It was these seemingly harmless "clouds" that had blocked the fatal blow for her.

These clouds seemed to possess the Ability to carry people and float.

Shaking her head, she decided not to delve into the mystery of the clouds for the time being.

Seraphina retrieved the [Flash Candy] from a corner of her Storage Space—the one that the Nightmare Kin, Dex, had been transformed into.

The candy lay quietly in her palm, crystal clear, with a halo of light swirling within.

To understand its Effect more accurately, Seraphina put on her [Analysis Glasses], which could analyze item data.

A faint light flashed across the lenses, and lines of information were clearly projected into her vision:

[Flash Candy]

[Effect: Upon consumption, directly obtain the Talent [Blast Flash].]

’It... it really worked!’

A look of delighted surprise flashed in Seraphina’s eyes.

Her previous experimental hypothesis had been confirmed!

Not only had she turned an enemy into food, but she had also completely extracted their core Talent and solidified it into this piece of candy!

’I might not have directly gained the status of a Nightmare Kin, but with an Effect like this, what do I have to fear?’

Seraphina’s heart raced with excitement.

The ability to turn hostile Players into "food" containing their Talent Abilities, and then steal those Talents by eating them!

The significance of this discovery was far greater than obtaining a powerful piece of equipment or a large amount of resources!

It meant she had found a potential new path to strengthening herself.

Hunting and converting!

’If I can reliably replicate this mechanism, I could use it to selectively gather powerful or useful Talents for myself, or... for trusted allies, creating a special combat team with diverse abilities!’

A bold and tempting blueprint slowly unfolded in her mind.

Of course, she was also aware that this would be no easy feat.

The successful conversion of Dex likely depended on a variety of factors.

But regardless, the door of possibility had been opened.

Seraphina carefully put away the [Flash Candy]. It would be a trump card for a critical moment in the future.

Or, it could serve as a precious sample to verify her future plans.

Next, her gaze fell upon another faintly glowing box in the Space—the [Wish Treasure Box].

’Wish Treasure Box.’

Seraphina’s attention was fixed on the bronze box, which shimmered with a soft, gentle light.

She felt a mix of anticipation and her usual caution.

’I wonder what I’ll get this time.’

Last time, during a "Divine Kingdom of Sweet Dreams" type mission, she had obtained a [Desire Candy].

But the success rate of that thing was frustratingly low, relying too much on sheer luck.

Although Eureka had eventually given her the tip that "eating it at night increases the success rate"...

...Seraphina remained skeptical about relying on luck and superstition to make a Wish come true.

She was more worried about the potential waste if it failed.

’I hope this Treasure Chest gives me something tangible, something practical that will really impress me.’

She murmured to herself, her fingers lightly tracing the patterns on the edge of the box.

The lid slid open silently. There was no brilliant golden light, no spectacular phenomena—just two faint glows rising from within the box.

They then materialized into two physical items that landed in her hands.

The system notification chimed right on cue:

[DING! Congratulations, Player! You have obtained the item: [Wish Water Cup] x1!]

[DING! Congratulations, Player! You have obtained the item: [Desire Upgrade Card] x1!]

’Just two things?’

Seraphina was silent for a moment.

She looked at the unremarkable ceramic cup and the thin card printed with a complex star pattern in her hands.

She pursed her lips. ’Looks like my luck is as consistently awful as ever.’

Her abysmal luck didn’t seem to have improved just because she’d entered a special instance.

She picked up the cup first.

The cup was made of warm-white ceramic. Its design was simple, with a smooth surface decorated with simple cloud and star patterns. The only odd thing was that its walls were extremely thin.

Putting on her [Analysis Glasses], she focused on the cup, and a stream of data quickly flowed across the lenses:

[Wish Water Cup]

[Effect One: Water of Wishing.

Before falling asleep at night, the holder must cup the Wish Water Cup in both hands and pray or silently make a Wish in the name of the God of Sweet Dreams.

When they awaken the next morning, the cup will automatically be filled with clear, sweet "Water of Wishing."

This water can slightly increase one’s luck or provide a spark of inspiration related to the general direction of the Wish. The effect is weak but continuous.]

[Effect Two: Healing Water.

Before falling asleep at night, the holder must cup the Wish Water Cup in both hands and pray in the name of the God of Sweet Dreams.

When they awaken the next morning, the cup will automatically be filled with "Healing Water" that emits a soft white glow.

This water has a significant Healing effect on most non-fundamental, non-rule-based illnesses, injuries, poisonings, and negative statuses. The strength of the effect is related to the focus of the Wish and the severity of the affliction.]

[Note: Can only be used by a Beloved of the Dream God!]

When she first saw the two Effects—especially when she read that the "Healing Water" could cure illnesses—her eyes lit up!

Isn’t this exactly what the migrating group needed most right now?!

Effect One seemed a bit lackluster since it required a Wish, but in an environment with extreme water shortages, it could still be a life-saving Ability.

However, when her gaze fell upon the final [Note], the joy on her face instantly froze.

It then transformed into an irrepressible wave of frustration and anger.

’Are you freaking kidding me?!’
