Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 468: Torrential Rain Apocalypse, Fish Meat, Extreme Temperature
Chapter 468: Chapter 468: Torrential Rain Apocalypse, Fish Meat, Extreme Temperature
After reviewing the data on the Weather Cloud item.
The effects were pretty good.
The lightning strike’s power was related to the user’s spiritual power and the Weather Cloud’s current state.
It had paralyzing, burning, and high-damage effects on a single target.
"A different type of weather every day?"
Seraphina Sullivan’s eyes lit up slightly.
"This is kind of interesting. I can use it for artificial rain when farming, and when I run into enemies, I can strike them with lightning... An essential for home and travel."
The second item—
[Item: Multi-player Dungeon Card]
[Type: Team Entry Ticket]
[Effect] Upon use, a team of up to 10 Players can be formed to enter an independent "Resource-Type Dungeon" together.
This dungeon has no survival pressure, no time limit, and no forced combat. The sole objective is to "scavenge."
Various resource points will be randomly generated within the dungeon, including but not limited to: food, water sources, building materials, common equipment, low-level Skill Books, rare materials, etc. The dungeon lasts for 24 hours, after which all Players will automatically be returned to their original location.
"A resource dungeon for ten people..."
Seraphina pondered for a moment, a thoughtful look in her eyes. "This is good. In the future, I can take our people on a supply run. No need to worry about fighting, just grabbing stuff. I just don’t know what tier the resources inside will be."
The third item—
[Seed: Giant Redwood]
[Type: Special Plant Seed]
[Effect] After being planted, under suitable soil and ample water conditions, this seed will grow into a "Giant Redwood."
When mature, the tree can reach a maximum height of five hundred meters with a trunk diameter of fifty meters.
The wood is extremely hard, fire-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and resistant to some Energy Attacks. It is a top-tier material for constructing sturdy fortresses, core structures for large bases, and even airship skeletons.
Growth Period: Approximately 50 years under normal conditions. Can be significantly shortened with the aid of plant-accelerating Abilities or items.
Five hundred meters tall, fifty meters thick.
An image of a colossal tree, towering into the heavens and shading half the farming area, involuntarily appeared in Seraphina’s mind.
"If we can get this to grow..." she murmured, "we could build our future base right on the tree. Monsters wouldn’t even be able to reach us."
Sean Chandler, who was standing beside her, finally spoke up, his voice calm but cutting straight to the point: "That’s assuming you can get it to grow, and that it lives for fifty years."
Seraphina: "..."
’Alright, reality bites.’
She turned her gaze to the last two rewards.
Three [Skill Upgrade Cards]—she was familiar with these.
She had used them before, and the effect was immediate.
This time, she planned to use them on the [Scavenger’s Farm].
Although that Space could store things, it was starting to feel a bit cramped as their belongings accumulated.
’Upgrading it to expand the area can’t be wrong.’
The last Skill Book—
[Skill: Spirit Defense]
[Effect: Passive Form] Permanently increases one’s own spiritual resistance, providing a basic immunity to effects like Spirit Attacks, Mind Control, interference, and mental erosion. The stronger the spiritual power, the higher the resistance.
[Effect: Active Form] Consumes spiritual power to form a "Spirit Shield" around oneself. The Shield can completely block Spirit Attacks that do not exceed one’s own spiritual power limit. It is ineffective against physical attacks but has a partial weakening effect on Energy Attacks.
While the Shield is active, the user’s mental focus is enhanced, making it harder for their spellcasting or train of thought to be interrupted.
"Spirit Defense..." A flicker of light in Seraphina’s eyes, and she chose to learn it without hesitation.
The Skill Book transformed into a stream of purple light and merged into the space between her eyebrows.
A cool sensation, like a mountain spring washing over her sea of consciousness, flooded her. She instantly felt much more clear-headed, and the faint, formless pressure from all directions seemed to weaken by a layer.
"This came at just the right time," she said softly.
Ever since the Guardian God was destroyed, Seraphina had been worried about the existence of Mind Control.
Now things were better.
It wasn’t invincibility, but at least she now had the means to face such threats head-on.
Seraphina stood up, dusted off her clothes for show, and looked at Sean Chandler.
"Alright, I’m done with my haul. Your turn."
She paused, a hint of curiosity in her eyes.
"So, tell me. That dungeon of yours... what did you go through?"
"The Deluge Apocalypse."
Sean Chandler spoke concisely, his tone as casual as if he were commenting on the weather.
Seraphina leaned against the RV’s doorway, waiting for him to continue.
"The dungeon’s setting was continuous torrential rain. It rained for... I don’t know how many days."
"The entire world was flooded. Only the rooftops of a few tall buildings were above water."
Sean Chandler’s gaze went distant, as if he were reliving the experience.
"There was no land, nowhere dry."
"Everyone was crammed together on roofs, terraces, and tower cranes, waiting for the water to recede."
As Seraphina listened, an image formed in her mind: a gray sky, endless rain, the murky water submerging what was once a city, with things occasionally swimming past from the depths...
"The danger came from the water?" she asked.
Sean Chandler nodded. "At first, it was drowning."
"Later, the things in the water started to mutate."
"Fish, shrimp, even water snakes, they all got huge and vicious."
"They would leap out of the water and attack the people on the rooftops."
He paused. "On the first night, the building I was in was knocked down by a mutated catfish."
Flora Sullivan’s jaw dropped. "A catfish? Knocked down a building?"
"That fish was about... twenty meters long," Sean Chandler said expressionlessly. "I killed it and roasted it for food."
Seraphina: "..."
’Yep, that’s Sean for you.’
"Sounds like you had a good haul, then?" she asked, getting the conversation back on track.
Sean Chandler didn’t waste any more words. He simply untied the Blue Gem Storage Bag from his waist, and with a thought, several items appeared out of thin air on the ground before them.
The largest was a slab of... meat?
To be precise, it was an entire, neatly cut flank of fish, scales and all.
It was silver-white all over, the flesh firm, and it shimmered with a faint fluorescent glow in the sunlight.
"Back meat from a mutated Silverscale Fish." Sean Chandler pointed to the huge piece of fish. "These fish are very fast and hard to catch, but their meat is the best. When you cook it, it automatically releases its oils. It’s delicious even without seasoning."
He then took out a few more items: several meter-long, spiraled bone spikes; a few palm-sized, translucent fish scales; and a sealed glass jar filled with a clear liquid, in which tiny specks of light could be seen swimming.
"The bone spikes can be used as weapons; they’re very sharp. The scales can be used to make armor or shields; they have some resistance to Energy Attacks. As for what’s in the jar..." He paused.
"It’s fluid from a mutated jellyfish. I’ve tried it. Drinking it directly gives you diarrhea, but if you apply it to a weapon, it makes wounds fester and difficult to heal."
"It’s up to you if you want to keep it."
Seraphina listened attentively and nodded in satisfaction. "Okay, as long as you got something out of it. I’ll hold on to these for now. We can study them later."
Sean Chandler put the items back into the storage bag and handed it to her.
Just as the two were exchanging the supplies, a piercing broadcast suddenly blared from outside the RV, echoing throughout the entire base.
