Cain took several more 2nd Echelon Cores from his Inventory and crushed them one after another, allowing the energy within to flow into his depleted Mana Core.

His gaze never left Serath.

"Do you have anything more to say?"

Cain chuckled.

"If not, let’s end this. I’m already exhausted as fuck, and I can’t be bothered with your bullshit anymore."

Serath slowly closed his eyes.

Sigh!

A long breath escaped his lungs before he opened them again.

The faint trace of amusement that had remained in his expression was gone, replaced by a solemnity that made it clear he understood exactly what was at stake.

"How about this, then?"

"For your own sake, let me live. I can assure you that the Zombie Race will not pursue this matter. We can let bygones be bygones."

Serath did not give Cain a chance to respond before continuing.

"If you truly kill me here, I can guarantee that the consequences will not be limited to you, and it won’t be long before your world is destroyed."

Cain sneered.

At this point, the threat did not frighten him.

He had already made his decision.

The hundred Purgatory Lances hovering above him suddenly shifted, drawing toward one another as their bodies compressed under the immense concentration of Purgatory Flame.

In the next moment, only ten remained.

Their size had changed very little, yet the energy contained within each lance had become vastly denser.

The violet flames surrounding them darkened under the pressure, and thin golden streaks flickered across their surfaces as the concentrated Purgatory Flame continued to burn.

Serath’s pupils contracted.

Cain glanced at him and shrugged.

"Well, I’ll think about the consequences later."

The faint smile disappeared from his face as his expression turned cold.

"For now, you’re going to die first."

Cain took a step forward and crushed the remaining Cores in his hand.

The energy surged into his body, rushing toward his Mana Core and accelerating its rotation as the newly absorbed power spread through his limbs.

Cain tightened his grip around the sword as he said with a serious expression.

"Let me kill him on my own."

Ron looked toward him.

"You sure?"

Cain nodded.

"Yeah, lemme handle it on my own."

Mo Xuanye did not say anything as he simply stepped backward and lowered his hand, understanding what Cain intended.

Elara followed without protest, and Aurelia stopped preparing another attack.

Nathan lowered his bow slightly but kept his attention fixed on Serath in case the situation changed.

Serath’s entire body was covered by dark armor, though it looked considerably different from before.

The Nether energy forming it had become much thinner, and the damaged Dragon scales beneath were partially visible through several cracks.

The armor was clearly being maintained with what remained of Serath’s Nether energy, yet he still stood his ground.

He knew this was his final battle.

If he could not stall long enough for reinforcements to arrive, everything would end here.

Cain charged forward.

Serath moved at nearly the same moment.

The distance between them disappeared in an instant as Cain’s sword swept toward Serath’s neck.

Serath raised one arm to block.

CLANG!

Sparks scattered across the dark armor as the blade struck.

Cain immediately shifted his grip and redirected the sword toward Serath’s chest, but Serath twisted his body and allowed the attack to slide across his side before driving his fist toward Cain’s face.

Cain raised his arm.

BOOM!

The impact forced him backward several meters, his feet scraping across the ruined street before he managed to stabilize himself.

His arm was numb from the collision.

Even after the resurrection and being weakened, Serath’s physical strength remained frightening.

Cain did not hesitate as he charged again, and this time Serath met him head-on.

The two collided in the middle of the ruined battlefield, their attacks crashing into each other as the force of their movements spread through the surrounding streets.

Cain’s sword came from the side.

Serath blocked with his forearm and immediately countered with a claw.

Cain tilted his head, allowing the attack to pass beside his face before driving his knee into Serath’s abdomen.

Serath’s body shifted backward, but he remained firmly planted on the ground and retaliated with his tail.

Cain crossed his sword in front of himself.

BOOM!

The tail slammed into the blade and sent Cain backward.

Serath followed without giving him time to recover, bringing his fist down toward Cain’s head.

Cain stepped aside and brought his sword upward.

The blade slipped beneath Serath’s arm and cut through the weakened armor.

Blood appeared along the wound.

Serath’s expression tightened.

His regeneration was no longer recovering his injuries at the same terrifying speed as before.

Cain noticed the change immediately and pressed his advantage.

His sword swept toward Serath’s chest, but Serath caught the blade between both hands.

The two forces collided.

Cain pushed forward with everything he could muster, True Ruin surging through his body and into the sword as Serath resisted with his remaining strength.

The ground beneath Serath’s feet cracked as he was slowly pushed backward.

Cain’s eyes sharpened as he noticed that their physical strength had become much closer.

Before his Resurrection, Serath had possessed a clear advantage in a direct clash, but the enormous price he had paid to return from death had drastically weakened him.

Meanwhile, Cain had managed to recover enough Mana to reinforce his body with True Ruin Energy once again.

Neither of them could overwhelm the other through strength alone anymore.

Serath suddenly released the sword and swung his claw toward Cain’s throat.

Cain ducked beneath the attack and immediately brought his sword upward.

Serath twisted his body, but he could not completely avoid it.

The blade cut across his chest, breaking through another section of the dark armor and opening a fresh wound.

Dark blood flowed down his body.

Serath responded with a punch.

Cain raised his left arm to block.

BANG!

The blow drove him sideways.

Before Serath could follow, Cain had already recovered his footing and swung again, the blade cutting across Serath’s waist.

Serath blocked with his forearm, but the force still pushed him backward.

Above them, the ten condensed lances slowly began moving.

Cain had not forgotten about them as he was simply waiting for the right moment.

Each lance remained suspended above the battlefield, following his movements as he continued fighting Serath at close range.

They were weapons Cain could unleash whenever Serath exposed an opening.

Serath noticed them as well, his expression grew increasingly grim.

He suddenly released a wave of Nether energy.

The surrounding ground cracked as the dark energy spread outward, forcing Cain backward and disrupting his footing.

Serath immediately charged through the opening.

His fist slammed into Cain’s chest.

BOOM!

Cain’s body flew backward and crashed through the remains of a building, sending broken concrete and twisted metal falling around him.

Serath did not give him time to recover as he pushed through the rubble with his claw already raised, and the instant Cain’s golden eyes opened beneath the debris, the attack came down.

Cain rolled to the side.

The claw smashed into the ground where his body had been, tearing through the concrete and leaving a deep crater behind.
