Investing in My Harem in the Apocalypse Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 224 Killing the Youngest Prince of the Zombie Race (2)
Cain rose from the rubble and immediately swung his sword.
Serath barely managed to raise his arm.
CLANG!
The blade hit into the dark armor, but before Cain could pull it back, Serath seized his wrist with his other hand.
Cain’s eyes narrowed.
Serath yanked him forward and drove his forehead into Cain’s face.
BANG!
Cain’s vision shook from the impact.
Serath followed with his knee, but Cain twisted his body at the last moment and took the blow against his side instead of his abdomen.
The impact still sent him staggering backward, yet he recovered quickly enough to raise his sword before Serath could close in again.
Their bodies collided once more.
The sword cut across Serath’s shoulder, tearing through the weakened armor, but Serath’s claw raked across Cain’s side in the same exchange.
Cain gritted his teeth and drove his sword into Serath’s ribs before the Youngest Prince answered with a heavy tail strike that slammed into Cain’s back.
The two separated for only a moment before charging at each other again.
The battle had become brutally direct.
There were no longer any coordinated attacks from the others as Cain was fighting Serath alone, relying on his sword, his physical strength, and the ten condensed lances still hovering above the battlefield.
Every exchange consumed what remained of their strength.
Cain’s breathing grew heavier, and Serath was beginning to show the same signs of exhaustion.
The dark armor covering the Youngest Prince had cracked across several places, exposing the damaged Dragon scales underneath.
Cain noticed it.
He immediately tightened his grip and gathered True Ruin Energy into the blade.
Serath immediately understood what was coming as he immediately planted his feet and crossed both arms in front of his body.
Cain stepped forward and brought the sword down.
BOOOOOOM!
True Ruin Energy exploded across the dark armor, forcing Serath’s body downward as the ground beneath his feet shattered from the impact.
The armor cracked further, but Serath endured the strike and pushed himself back up.
Cain did not give him the chance to recover as one of the lances immediately descended from above.
Serath’s expression changed when he sensed the incoming attack.
He twisted his body, and the lance passed beside him before crashing into the ground.
BOOM!
Purgatory Flame erupted across the street.
Serath forced his way through the flames and charged straight toward Cain.
Cain met him head-on.
The sword struck Serath’s shoulder at the same moment a claw slammed into Cain’s chest.
Both attacks landed and both of them were forced backward.
Serath’s breathing had become rough, and Cain wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth before looking toward the sky.
The remaining lances were still suspended above them.
Cain raised his left hand.
The nine condensed lances began moving.
Serath’s eyes narrowed as he realized what Cain intended.
The first lance descended.
Serath moved sideways, allowing it to strike the ground behind him before immediately changing direction as the second followed.
This time, he raised his arm and blocked.
The Purgatory Flame exploded against his armor, forcing him backward.
Cain charged through the flames before they had even dispersed, his sword sweeping toward Serath’s abdomen.
Serath blocked the attack.
Cain immediately changed the angle and cut toward his shoulder.
The blade struck.
And at the same time, a third lance descended.
Serath barely avoided it, twisting his body as the weapon tore past him.
The fourth came from behind.
Serath turned and struck it away with his tail.
BOOM!
The explosion engulfed his body in violet flames.
Cain entered the flames without hesitation.
His sword flashed through the fire.
Serath raised both hands and caught the blade between his palms.
CLANG!
Cain pushed forward.
Serath’s feet sank deeper into the ruined street as he resisted the pressure, but Cain continued forcing his sword downward.
Then the fifth lance descended.
Serath looked upward.
There was no time to escape.
He released the last of the Dragon Mana he could gather and forced Cain backward just before the lance struck his shoulder.
BOOOOOOM!
Dark armor shattered.
Several scales beneath it cracked apart, and blood sprayed across the ground as Serath staggered to the side.
Cain stepped forward immediately.
His sword descended again.
Serath blocked it with both arms, but another lance came down from above.
This one struck his side.
The impact tore through the damaged armor and cracked the scales beneath it, throwing Serath sideways.
Cain followed immediately, his sword cut across Serath’s chest and opened a deep wound.
Serath retaliated with his tail.
Cain caught it with his free hand.
The impact still forced him backward, but he refused to release his grip. True Ruin Energy surged through his arm as he pulled with all his strength.
Serath’s balance broke.
Cain raised his sword.
The seventh and eighth lance descended at the same time.
Serath barely turned his body in time.
The lances struck across his back, and Purgatory Flame spread over the remaining armor.
Serath roared in anger.
He forced himself forward through the pain and drove his fist toward Cain’s chest.
Cain raised his arm.
The punch landed heavily.
His body shook from the impact, and his feet slid backward across the broken ground, but he remained standing.
Serath’s breathing became even heavier, his crimson eyes remained fixed on Cain.
Then the ninth lance descended.
Serath raised his remaining arm.
The weapon struck, causing the armor covering his forearm shattered under the impact, and the lance broke apart after tearing through the damaged scales beneath it.
Serath staggered.
Cain immediately moved when he saw the opportunity.
He crossed the distance before Serath could regain his balance and drove his sword through the damaged armor and into his abdomen.
Serath’s body froze.
Cain pushed the blade deeper, and True Ruin poured into the wound, spreading through Serath’s body and tearing apart what remained of his already weakened defenses.
Serath looked down at the sword buried inside him.
Then he slowly raised his eyes toward Cain, his breathing had become almost inaudible.
Yet even now, he still raised one hand.
Cain noticed the movement.
Thankfully, he already manifested another ten Purgatory Lances and merged them into one as they were fighting.
It was already descending into position above them, waiting for the right opportunity to attack.
Serath gathered the last traces of Nether energy into his fist.
Cain pulled his sword free.
Both moved at the same time as Serath’s fist came toward Cain’s shoulder and Cain swung his sword upward.
BOOOOOOM!
The punch struck Cain and sent him staggering sideways.
At the same moment, the sword cut across Serath’s chest.
The Youngest Prince stumbled backward.
Then the final lance descended.
Serath looked upward, his body had already reached its limit and there was no strength left in his body.
The lance struck directly through his chest.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
Purgatory Flame erupted from within his body, consuming the remaining dark armor and shattering the weakened scales around the impact.
Serath’s body was thrown backward and crashed into the ruined street.
Cain remained where he stood, his chest rising and falling heavily.
The Primordial Chaos Dragon Projection behind him slowly faded as the immense consumption of Mana finally became too much for him to maintain it.
Smoke drifted through the battlefield.
Cain waited for a moment.
There was no movement from the crater.
The Youngest Prince’s body remained buried beneath the broken ground, his dark armor completely destroyed and the remaining Dragon scales covered with cracks.
Cain slowly walked toward the crater, each step felt heavier than the last.
When he reached the edge, he looked down and found that Serath was lying motionless at the bottom.
His crimson eyes remained open, but the light within them was fading slowly.
The final traces of Nether energy around his body had already disappeared.
For a brief moment, the battlefield remained completely still.
Then Serath’s eyes finally closed.
Cain exhaled slowly.
He had done it.
He had finally killed the Youngest Prince of the Zombie Race.
Naturally, it wouldn’t be possible without the others as they also had contributed greatly in killing the Youngest Prince.
Cain lowered his sword and looked toward the System panel that suddenly appeared before his eyes.
His exhausted expression slowly changed when he saw the notification.
A satisfied smile formed on his face.
