Chapter 206 | The 4th Dimension
Chapter 206: 206 | The 4th Dimension
Aurora’s face changed the moment she settled into the passenger seat.
Her eyes moved across the entire interior of the entire vehicle and her face kept changing even more rapidly.
Her fingers reached out she suddenly knocked on the glass panel of the passenger window as her brows furrowed.
Aurora had been inside many vehicles and had ridden in Type 2 transports during Association deployments.
She had been chauffeured in Type 3 vehicles too and had even entered a Type 4 vehicle once, owned by young master Crowell from one of the Nine Families who had attempted to impress her with his family’s wealth.
While she had been unimpressed by the young master, the type 4 car stood out to her.
But this vehicle was truly different.
The interior was simpler than the Type 4 Car and at first glance, it looked like a perfectly ordinary SUV with a slightly nicer interior than average.
But Aurora was born with an S-rank mana affinity. She could sense intense mana radiating off every part of the entire vehicle.
The Type 4 vehicle owned by the young master Crowell sas beautiful and strong but this vehicle gave Aurora the feeling of an expert in hiding.
Like a crouching tiger and a hidden dragon. It was wierd. It was when she tapped on the glasses that she confirmed her suspicion.
"This car is above Type 4," Aurora murmured.
Dexter had just settled into the driver’s seat when he heard her words. He froze for a second, then forced his expression to remain neutral.
He was quite surprised she had figured it out so quickly.
It’s no wonder she was one of the most talented young generations.
The vehicle was in its default mode and he hadn’t activated any of its Type-6 features and had deliberately kept it in its dormant state precisely to avoid this kind of situation.
But Aurora had detected it anyway.
Her composure broke as she turned toward him with stunned expression on her face.
"I’m right, aren’t I?" she said, her voice carrying absolute certainty. "This is above Type 6."
Her face instantly turned serious.
"Who exactly are you?"
Not to mention how impossible it was to find a vehicle above Type 4, the price of the vehicle would definitely be astronomical!
While Dexter was the illegitimate son of the Ashford family, he was clearly a nobody but yet, he had a Type 5 Vehicle with him!
This meant he wasn’t just hiding his strength, he might also possess a hidden background.
Even if one had the money to purchase the vehicle, the moment it enters the City’s Auction, it would definitely be fought by the entire Nine Families.
A type 5 weapon wasn’t that rare, but a type 5 vehicle was.
Dexter blinked expressionlessly and waved his hand offhandedly.
"This is just a random vehicle I bought," he said in a dissmissive tone.
"Now, do you want to tell me exactly what you want to say, or do you want to continue admiring an ordinary vehicle?"
Aurora stared at him.
She knew he was lying, and he knew she knew.
She also knew he knew she knew.
But Aurora didn’t press. Very few things surprised her and Dexter certainly had slightly exceeded her expectations.
But that was that.
If she knew it was actually type 6, her reaction would definitely be way different.
She had been slightly hesitant to involve Dexter, as she needed a wild card but the vehicle’s discovery had simply made the decision easier.
If Dexter had access to Type 4 object, then it was like she had suspected, Dexter definitely wasn’t ordinary.
Her expression turned very serious as she turned and stared forward through the glass and spoke.
"I found a map."
Hearing this, Dexter was quite confused.
’If you found a map, keep it. What does it have to do with me?’ Bhe he waited for her to finish hee words.
"A map leading to a portal."
Dexter pursed his lips and wanted to sneer. ’It’s most likely leading to an S rank dungeon. Seems like they’re satusfued with crippling my wives uhn...’
Aurora continued. "A portal leading to the 4th Dimension."
Dexter blinked.
The words didn’t register immediately as those words were rarely spoken or heard by Dexter. It was a concept very unfamiliar to him.
The mysterious 4th Dimension.
The 3rd Dimension was space, length, width, and depth. The dimension in which all known life existed, the dimension in which Stargate City stood.
But they call this realm the 4th dimension because no one truly knows its realm name and not just anyone could enter into that realm
What was known about the Fourth Dimension could be summarized in a very short list.
But as it settled in Dexter’s mind and he remebered the fragments and pieces he heard from people over the years, his face started to change as his face changed slightly.
He stared at Aurora with a stunned expression in his face.
"You found a map to the 4th Dimension," he repeated slowly.
"Yes."
Dexter’s mouth opened. Then closed. Then opened again.
"That’s not possible," he said. "Portals to the 4th Dimension don’t exist. Its only pure fiction and science that everyone else ignores because it’s fantasy."
Aurora glanced at him but continued staring at the outside world.
"Once your rank in the hero association reaches A rank, you gain clearance and access to some materials and learn somethings are very much true. The information leaked so the Hero Association put it out there because they know humans try to rationalize everything. They would never truly believe that there might be other civilizations out there."
"It’s like the rumors of the moon landing being fake, the earth is flat or the world is just a dome meant to trap us."
Dexter’s mind trembled.
The 4th Dimension was the source from which monsters poured here.
Every dungeon that had ever been discovered, every gate that had ever opened, every monster outbreak that had ever devastated a neighborhood, all of it traced back to the same cause.
Dungeons themselves seemed like the byproduct, not the main event. The main event was the dimensional bleed. The slow, persistent leaking of 4th Dimensional energy (mana) into this world.
Dexter didn’t fully understand it but there was a law governing the interaction between the two dimensions that dictated how and why dungeons formed.
What Dexter know was that the 4th dimension was dangerous.
Throughout recorded history, there had been instances of individuals attempting to enter the 4th Dimension.
The people who went to there were those that are desperate.Old heroes and Powerhouses who had reached the peak of their cultivation and felt the cold hand of mortality closing around them.
These were the people who chose to enter the Fourth Dimension. To seek miracles pills, herbs and techniques to advance to the next level, expand their lifespan and survive death.
Dexter looked at Aurora and spoke.
"No."
