Investing in My Wife: But She's Already the Strongest!
Chapter 13: Surprised
Enzo put on the watch and found it surprisingly comfortable on his wrist.
Even just wearing it made him feel like a completely different person.
Mr. Joe stroked his chin and nodded, looking satisfied.
"Mr. Joe, I’ll go to my room for a while," Enzo said.
"Yes..." The old man nodded.
Enzo then climbed the stairs to his room.
This was how things should be, considering the old man even called him Master.
Once inside his room, he turned on the TV.
Just as he expected, the TV was broadcasting a live view of Horizon Grand Hotel, whose massive structure resembled a magnificent palace.
Located in the heart of the city, the hotel was already surrounded by crowds despite how early it was.
However, no one could get close. The entire hotel was surrounded by hundreds of security personnel, and they were clearly not ordinary people.
Ever since the news broke, the wedding had become the hottest topic in City Z.
The strongest were also the most famous, and Lady Stanley had been the most well-known figure among City Z’s residents over the past few years. So it was easy to imagine just how curious everyone was about the man who could marry her, especially since his identity had yet to be revealed.
Since Sunday was a day off, even more people had come to watch, though all they could do was stand outside and observe.
Everything had already far exceeded Enzo’s expectations.
Through the TV, he even spotted the cold female instructor from his university among the security captains.
She had probably been invited to help with security for a hefty fee, since her strength made her more than qualified for the job.
Enzo knew she would be extremely surprised when she saw him.
He found it amusing to keep watching the TV, so he eventually switched to playing a game instead.
After nearly two hours, he brushed his teeth once again and even washed his face before putting on the white outfit.
It was incredibly comfortable, light, soft, and cool against his body.
The fit was absolutely perfect, neither too tight nor too loose.
Although the suit had long sleeves, they had already been rolled up, ending just slightly past his elbows.
Enzo couldn’t believe his eyes when he looked into the mirror.
Was this really him?
But he still had to get his makeup done.
He carefully made his way down to the first floor.
His parents were waiting as well because they wanted to see what he looked like.
And not a single one of them failed to be stunned.
The makeup artist, Laura, looked excited. She opened the suitcase she had brought, which was packed with all kinds of makeup products from various brands.
She seemed to have already decided exactly what she needed to use on Enzo.
Enzo chose not to say anything.
He sat down in the chair that had been prepared for him.
"Master, please don’t move your head for a while," Laura instructed.
"Yes..." Enzo replied without moving at all.
He even closed his eyes as though he were meditating, something he often did anyway.
The makeup brush began touching his face, feeling wet and cool against his skin.
He had no idea whether it was powder or some kind of liquid. Perhaps sunscreen.
Even his eyebrows were brushed with something, while his hair was sprayed with who-knew-what.
His lips weren’t neglected either, and the makeup continued down to his neck.
He was even given a particular perfume.
Only after more than half an hour did the woman finally stop.
Enzo opened his eyes.
’Damn.’
He grumbled inwardly.
The makeup wasn’t excessive, yet somehow it made his face seem as though it were glowing.
"Bro, no one would blame you if you called yourself the son of the Heavenly Emperor," Evan chuckled.
He pointed his phone’s camera at Enzo and took a selfie.
Enzo felt as though his lips were too heavy to comment.
His father and mother simply stood beside him without saying a word.
"Dad, Mom, let’s take a picture first," Enzo said as he stood up.
They couldn’t accompany him to the wedding since that wasn’t how this wedding was supposed to work. For now, all they could do was take a picture together here.
"Yes..." His mother nodded while his father remained silent.
Evan was given the task of taking the picture, and they posed together with the living room as the background.
It was only one photo.
"Now we can go," Enzo said to Mr. Joe.
"Of course. Follow me..." Mr. Joe led the way.
They stepped outside the villa.
Four men were waiting beside the two cars. Their expressions were cold, giving them the appearance of robots.
They immediately opened the car doors as soon as Enzo and the others appeared.
Enzo hadn’t expected anyone else to be there, so he couldn’t help being surprised when he found a young woman sitting inside the white limousine.
She had very short blonde hair, almost like a man’s haircut, and was wearing black trousers and a black suit.
When the woman turned her face toward him, Enzo was even more shocked.
"Eva," he muttered.
Eva Solace.
He hadn’t recognized her when he saw her from the side because her hair had suddenly become so short.
Throughout the time he’d known her, she had always worn short skirts, so he hadn’t recognized her simply from her figure either.
The woman stepped out of the car and stood straight.
When their eyes met, she pressed her lips together and nodded without the arrogant expression she usually wore.
"Master, given your identity, you naturally need an assistant. The Lady chose her for you," Mr. Joe explained with a faint smile.
Enzo froze, his thoughts running in every direction.
Why did she have to choose Eva?
There was no way Miya didn’t know that this woman was the most beautiful among the girls who had pursued him at university.
Her personality was indeed somewhat unpleasant, which was why he had always ignored her, but this still didn’t seem like a suitable choice.
"Greetings, Master..." Eva greeted him.
She gestured for Enzo to enter.
Despite the countless thoughts running through his mind, Enzo immediately got into the car.
Two bodyguards took the front seats while Eva sat beside him.
Mr. Joe, of course, remained in the black sedan with Laura.
The sedan led the way while the white limousine followed behind.
Eva remained silent, simply staring straight ahead.
DING!

A System notification suddenly appeared for the first time, startling Enzo slightly.
He then remembered that the System would strengthen his soul on his wedding day.
Changes to the soul were something he couldn’t detect.
Yet suddenly, he felt something incredible flowing into his body.
’Spiritual Energy.’
He knew this was Spiritual Energy.
It flowed into his body on its own. All this time, he had always failed to absorb it, even with the help of a Spiritual Pool.
’Could this be because of all the training I’ve accumulated?’
This is nothing new. It is said that fruitless efforts will pay off if one finds a way forward.
On the screen, his Spiritual Energy value began changing rapidly.

[Spiritual Energy: 20]
[Spiritual Energy: 60]
[Spiritual Energy: 100]
