Investing in My Wife: But She's Already the Strongest!
Chapter 48: Burn
"Stop!" he ordered Rosa, who instinctively stepped on the brakes.
"Uncle, what are you planning to do?" the woman asked.
Enzo did not answer. He opened the car door and stepped out.
If he had no strength, he would have turned a blind eye.
But he was already a Level 3 Spiritual Warrior. He possessed the power to decide the life and death of ordinary humans.
There was a mortal adult who was being so cruel to a little child. Naturally, his conscience could not allow him to turn a blind eye.
Whoosh!
He charged directly into the alley.
His momentum was far too fast for ordinary humans to see. They could only feel a powerful gust of wind suddenly sweep over them.
Those who were nearby were pushed back by the gust.
BANG!
Enzo kicked the bottle in the man’s hand.
The bottle did not fly away. Instead, it crumbled into ashes.
There were no flames coming from his foot, but there was heat, and that heat specifically targeted the bottle.
Enzo should not have been able to control his flames to this degree, but he had managed to do it this time. He had found another insight that allowed him to deepen his comprehension even further.
"You? Who are you?" The man staggered and fell onto his butt, looking as though he could not have been more shocked.
The little boy was equally shocked, but he simply froze in place.
The anger on Enzo’s face only grew stronger once he entered the alley.
He realized something. What he had done might accomplish nothing if he merely stopped this man.
Once he left, the same coercion would happen again.
It had already become a daily routine that could not disappear from this neighborhood.
"Wh-who are you? I’m under Brother Tiger. Don’t think you can bully me just because you’re a Spiritual Warrior," the man said after recovering somewhat from his shock.
He was aware of Enzo’s strength, but Enzo merely furrowed his brows.
Brother Tiger. Naturally, he did not know him.
However, he understood that this man was the root of the problem.
Nothing would stop unless the main root was burned away.
Of course, the branches had to be burned away as well.
They had to be burned clean.
Enzo pondered what Miya’s true purpose was in sending him here.
’Does she want me to burn?’
That was indeed the first desire that had surfaced in his heart when he saw what this man was doing.
From the books containing the insights of various experts in the Stanley Family’s library, he had read quite a bit about how, if he wanted to possess powerful flames, he needed a heart filled with the desire to burn.
And desire had to be followed by action.
What should be burned?
Naturally, anything that displeased him.
If he possessed a heart that desired to burn and actually acted upon it, it would become easier to gain insights and comprehend the Three Heaven Flame Technique.
This was merely a theory, but it was a theory whose truth had already been proven.
Miya had the highest attainment in this technique.
She naturally knew what Enzo needed to do if he wanted to reach such heights.
Although Enzo had the System and therefore had more options, he understood that, in the end, he still had to rely on himself.
He also needed to build a foundation that would allow him to reach the pinnacle of strength through his own abilities.
He had to admit that Miya understood him very well. She knew exactly where he could be pushed into taking action.
If it were only against an enemy like Alex, his motivation clearly would not be strong enough.
Alex was ultimately not as vile as this man, who had immediately made his blood boil.
Since he had dreamed of becoming strong, Enzo had naturally prepared himself long ago for the possibility that he might have to kill another human.
It was something he had to accept.
What mattered was that he had a justifiable reason for doing so, unlike those who followed the unorthodox path and could kill thousands of innocent people merely for the sake of cultivation.
Flames appeared around his fist as he raised it, shocking the man even more.
Encountering a Spiritual Warrior was one thing. Generally, they were simply much stronger than ordinary humans, and it was still rare for one to be able to display a specific elemental power.
"I want to ask you something. Will you stop doing this after I leave?" Enzo asked.
"You? Are you trying to interfere with Brother Tiger’s business?" The man’s answer surprised him.
Apparently, from the man’s perspective, this was merely his livelihood and Brother Tiger’s business.
"Very good..." Enzo smiled when he heard that.
The last trace of doubt in his heart disappeared.
He would fulfill the purpose his wife had sent him here for.
Whoosh!
He punched the air.
It was nothing particularly impressive, but the flames around his fist shot toward the man, struck him in the chest, and then erupted, engulfing him completely.
Ordinary flames might burn slowly and need time to turn a human into ashes.
But his flames were simply too hot.
The man was like a thin, dry leaf. He did not even last for a single breath before turning into ashes.
His scream was not heard at all, but the pile of ashes was clearly visible.
Not only those who were conscious, even those who were heavily drunk immediately sobered up when they saw it.
There was no beating. Not many words were exchanged.
Enzo had simply burned the man to death.
The little boy also became frightened when he saw Enzo.
There was another problem.
Enzo was not a man who was good at communicating, and his ability to communicate with children was practically nonexistent.
Not to mention comforting the boy, he did not even have any idea what he should say.
What had angered him was the oppression the man had inflicted on the child.
However, that did not mean he felt any particular affection for this little boy who had nothing to do with him.
In the end, he merely shook his head before walking back toward the car, whose front windows were rolled down.
Rosa and Zara had lowered the windows so they could watch more clearly.
Both of them looked completely unable to react properly after seeing Enzo return.
