Investing in My Wife: But She's Already the Strongest!
Chapter 54: White Family
"Girl, hasn’t your father ever told you how exhausting men can be?" the thin man replied angrily.
His words only made Alex turn pale.
He still dared to provoke Enzo, whom he considered nothing more than a plaything of the Stanley Family. But an actual member of the Stanley Family was someone he would never dare provoke, even if he were given the courage of a lion.
Whoosh!
Rosa actually stepped on the accelerator, and the car instantly shot forward like a lion pouncing on its prey.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Alex and his companions were hit hard without having any chance to dodge, sending them flying in different directions.
Enzo was dumbfounded, his lips slightly parted as he watched.
Logically speaking, a car should not have been strong enough to crash into Level 3 Spiritual Warriors, who were already faster than the car itself.
The material of the car was also far too weak compared to bodies containing more than a thousand units of Spiritual Energy.
Yet Alex was sent flying violently, not to mention the others.
One landed on top of a tree, another crashed into the hill, while Alex landed on a luxury car, causing it to collapse instantly.
Whoosh!
Rosa drove the car directly into the parking area.
She smiled at Enzo, who could only smile wryly.
Only after the two women got out of the car did Enzo also step out.
They immediately attracted the attention of the other visitors.
Many of the visitors had attended the wedding.
Although they did not recognize Rosa and Zara, they recognized Enzo.
Everything was easy to figure out from there.
Several people who had initially wanted to help Alex and the others naturally stopped, even stepping backward to distance themselves from them.
Cough! Cough!
Alex coughed up blood as he sat up.
His condition was actually the best among them. The others looked to be suffering badly.
When he looked at Enzo, there was hatred in his eyes, but it was mixed with helplessness.
"Hey, what exactly is going on here?" Enzo asked curiously.
"Just watch. This is interesting entertainment." Zara chuckled.
She led the way toward the hill.
Once they got closer, Enzo realized there was an underground entrance directly in front of them.
There was a clean staircase that looked like something inside a building.
Enzo simply followed them down the stairs. They were not very long, and soon they arrived at a long corridor that did not feel like it was underground at all. Numerous security guards stood in front of a dark glass gate.
"Miss, please show us your invitation card," one of the security guards said.
"We don’t have an invitation card. Hey, if it weren’t for the Stanley Family not caring about this, do you think the White Family would still be able to do business here?" Zara replied with a snort.
The White Family.
Enzo showed a strange expression when he heard that.
This family had nearly become one of the Great Families, an achievement that was certainly impressive. After all, each of the Ten Great Families had essentially benefited from extraordinary fortune at the beginning of the cultivation era, giving them exceptional talent that allowed them to continue producing generations of Lords of Earth.
And the White Family had already produced two generations who had reached that level.
They were even based in New York.
"Uhm... Please forgive us. We didn’t know, Miss. Please enter," the security guard said after hearing Zara’s words.
Naturally, there were special rules for the Stanley Family because the White Family was merely operating a business within their territory.
The security guard even opened the glass gate for them.
Zara walked inside without responding, followed by Rosa and then Enzo.
Enzo had already guessed what kind of place this was.
It was indeed a colosseum.
Of course, it did not actually look like an ancient colosseum. It looked more like a modern football stadium, with stands surrounding a large stone platform in the center.
There were already many spectators seated, relaxing while enjoying coffee or beer.
His gaze was not focused on the spectators. Instead, he stared curiously at the symbol of a black sword in the middle of the stone platform.
Other people might have thought it was simply painted there.
Of course, it was rather strange to have a sword painting in the middle of a combat arena. It was the only one there, and it was only the size of an ordinary sword, making it difficult for ordinary people to notice anything unusual.
But with his perception enhanced by the Supreme Human Soul, Enzo realized that it was not ordinary.
Killing intent.
He could sense a concentration of killing intent emanating from it.
"Uncle, come on." Rosa called out to him because he had stopped walking.
The two women did not choose random seats. Instead, they headed toward the VIP area on the opposite side of the entrance, forcing them to walk around the stands.
There were only four people there.
Two were middle-aged men, one of whom was the vice mayor, while Enzo did not recognize the other.
Both appeared to be enjoying long cigars and aged wine as they sat casually.
One of the others was actually a handsome young man who was perhaps only a year older than Enzo.
Interestingly, his hair was also white.
He sat beside a beautiful middle-aged blonde woman wearing an elegant dress and a diamond necklace.
Enzo felt that he had seen the middle-aged woman before, but he could not remember where.
When it became clear that he, Rosa, and Zara were heading toward the VIP stands, all four of them—including the security guards guarding the area—turned their gazes toward them.
None of them had attended the wedding, so practically none of them recognized him.
At the wedding, only the mayor had attended. The vice mayor had not been there.
However, the middle-aged woman seemed to recognize him after watching him for a while.
Enzo naturally felt awkward as everyone stared at them with curious expressions, wondering who they were.
"Dilan White, do you mind if we sit here?" Zara suddenly asked while looking at the white-haired young man.
The security guards wanted to stop them but ultimately did not.
"Miss, may I know your name?" the young man replied with a question, a friendly smile appearing on his face.
"Zara, Zara Stanley," the woman answered confidently.
"She’s my cousin, Rosa Stanley, and this is our honorable uncle, my aunt’s husband. Our aunt ordered us to bring Uncle here to look around." She did not forget to introduce Enzo and Rosa.
Enzo only wanted to smack his own forehead.
He felt embarrassed.
Nevertheless, he maintained an indifferent expression as Dilan, the vice mayor, and the others looked at him with great interest.
