Monica leaned forward, and her lips finally met Elias’s.

[Ding!]

[Affection Rate is increasing!]

Her eyes trembled at the unfamiliar sensation, yet she did not pull away. Instead, she remained there, allowing herself to experience something she had never truly understood before.

She was a mage whose mind surpassed almost everyone around her, a woman whose understanding of magic had reached a level that even the elders of the Mage Tower could barely comprehend, but none of that knowledge had ever taught her how to hold someone or how to kiss.

Her master had taught her how to become a brilliant mage.

No one had taught her how to become herself as a woman.

Elias, however, remained completely still.

He did not move closer, nor did he attempt to guide her. He simply held her and allowed her to decide what happened next. ℯℯ𝘭.

He wanted her to feel that she was in control.

After everything the poison had taken from her, after years of pain, isolation, and helplessness, control was perhaps the one thing Monica had been deprived of the most.

Yet Monica interpreted his silence differently.

’This shameless man... Is he mocking me? The prodigy of the Mage Tower?’

Her pride as a mage stirred.

A strange determination ignited within her.

Monica allowed her instincts to take over, and she began to suck and bite on his lips.

Elias’s body stiffened slightly from surprise, and his arms instinctively tightened around her.

The movement caused Monica to shift closer until she was resting in his lap; however, she was too deep into the act to notice.

She closed her eyes and surrendered herself to the unfamiliar warmth while continuing to suck on his lips.

For someone who had spent years unable to properly experience another person’s touch, the moment felt almost overwhelming.

She had forgotten what it meant to feel warmth without pain.

She had forgotten what it meant to be held without fear.

And now she was experiencing both at once.

After several moments, Monica finally pulled away and rested her forehead against Elias’s shoulder.

"Hah... hah..." she breathed, her cheeks burning as though she had drunk strong wine.

’I actually did it...’

Only now did she realize how violently her heart was beating.

She remained silent for several seconds, simply listening to the rhythm beneath her ear while Elias continued holding her.

Then her eyes slowly lowered.

She realized that she had ended up sitting on Elias’s lap.

Her face immediately turned even redder upon seeing the tent between his legs.

Elias followed her gaze and saw it as well; embarrassment rose in him, but this time he didn’t allow it to take control.

After a moment, he rested his head against her shoulder and whispered, "Do you want to lie in the tub?"

Monica’s body shivered slightly at the softness of his voice.

She hesitated for a moment before nodding.

Elias slipped one arm beneath her bottom and kept his other arm around her waist as he stood.

Monica gave a small startled sound as she felt him grab a side of her bottom.

Elias carried her toward the bath, and before stepping into the water, he stored the last piece of clothing he was wearing in his Inventory.

Then he carefully lowered himself into the warm water while keeping Monica securely in his arms.

Water spilled over the edge of the tub from their combined weight, but neither of them paid attention to it.

Elias adjusted their position until Monica was resting comfortably over him.

She lay against his chest with her head beneath his chin, while one of her hands remained interlocked with his.

His other hand rested gently against her abdomen.

And down below she could feel something hard and warm pressed between her thighs, and thinking about what that was made her neck turn red.

For several moments, none of them spoke.

Her mind was still struggling to process everything that had happened.

She had kissed her husband, and it wasn’t because she needed it for something else; she had done it because she wanted to.

Eventually, she raised her eyes toward him.

"How are you doing this?" she purred softly.

Elias gently traced a small circle across her abdomen with one finger.

"I do not know," he admitted. "But does it matter?"

"It does," Monica whispered.

"Why?"

She fell silent.

There were countless questions she could have asked him.

Why could she feel his touch?

What was the strange thing inside him?

Why could he make her feel warmth that even magic could not provide?

But none of those questions seemed important at this moment.

His finger moved slightly lower across her abdomen, and his voice softened.

"It does not matter because I am the only one who can touch you this way, Lady Monica."

Her expression softened.

Then he continued, "And when the day comes that you are finally free from this accursed poison, I will make sure you experience a different kind of warmth as well. So do not give up."

Monica stared at him for several seconds before slowly nodding.

She should have known.

He had given her the same answer whenever she questioned how he remained unaffected by her poison.

He did not know.

At least, he claimed not to know.

Yet somehow, despite the mystery surrounding him, Elias had become the one person she could trust.

Monica lowered her head again and rested against his chest.

Perhaps the answers could wait.

Perhaps she did not need to understand everything immediately.

For now, all that mattered was that she could finally feel his warmth.

She could finally feel another person’s touch without pain.

The last time their lips had met, Elias had done it to save her.

This time, he had given her something different.

He had given her the courage to step beyond the prison inside her own mind.

Monica stared at the ceiling with a genuine smile.

For the first time in years, she truly felt at peace.
