Chapter 824: Chapter 752: Prey

Building Three shuddered violently, teetering on the verge of collapse. It looked as though the entire structure was about to leap off the ground.

Tu Xiao’an rushed up to the fourth floor, only to be met by Du Jun, who lunged at him like a rabid dog.

The two exchanged a blow before leaping apart.

Du Jun was inwardly shaken by the Great Demon’s tremendous strength, astounded by how effortlessly his Rank Three Peak attack had been neutralized. Yan Guan was right; this Great Demon absolutely had the ability to kill Qu Ping with ease. Or perhaps Qu Ping had been careless and fallen victim to a sneak attack.

"You damn Demon!" Du Jun roared. "You killed Qu Ping, yet you still dare to come back? Such arrogance! As the director of City B, I will execute you on the spot today!"

Du Jun glared at Tu Xiao’an angrily. His eyes were wide as saucers, his eyebrows stood on end, and thick veins bulged across his furious face.

"Hold on a second." Tu Xiao’an raised a hand, finally starting to understand the situation. Was the boss of City B out of his mind? He actually thought Qu Ping had died by his hands. It was laughable—he had only just gotten up here!

"I didn’t kill Qu Ping," Tu Xiao’an said. Although he didn’t understand why Du Jun suspected him, he had no intention of taking the blame for a Ghost Demon for no reason. If he wanted to kill someone, why would he resort to such methods?

"Ha! You still dare to argue? Who else could it be but you?" Du Jun sneered. His War God aura surged with increasing intensity, leaving Building Three swaying like a ship in a storm.

"The Ghost Demon killed him, obviously," Tu Xiao’an replied, looking at Du Jun as if he were an idiot.

Did this guy have selective amnesia? They had used the entire Demon Management Bureau as bait to lure the Ghost Demon out. Now that the Ghost Demon had actually appeared, Du Jun was just ignoring it? Instead of suspecting the Ghost Demon, he was pointing fingers at him. Seriously, where was the logic?

"Save your breath," Du Jun said with a cold laugh. "Qu Ping was killed by a sharp Weapon. That’s not how a Ghost Demon kills."

Tu Xiao’an retorted, "Are you completely blind? Couldn’t you see that Qu Ping’s body was completely drained of blood? It’s obvious the Ghost Demon sucked it dry!"

"You are a Demon, and Demons also love to drink human blood. You and the Ghost Demon are essentially birds of a feather," Yan Guan interjected from the side.

These words resonated deeply with Du Jun. Before the War Relics appeared, Demons had been humanity’s greatest enemies. Consuming humans to improve their Cultivation was something Demons did all the time. It was a common occurrence.

Tu Xiao’an turned to look at Yan Guan, a sudden realization dawning on him. They had actually seen through his identity. Had they known he was a Demon this entire time? If so, why hadn’t they said anything earlier?

Tu Xiao’an chuckled. "You’re trying to frame me. You know I’m a Demon, so you want to use this as an excuse to attack me, right?"

"Different Paths for Humans and Demons! We are absolutely irreconcilable. Why would we need an excuse or a reason to kill a Demon like you?" Du Jun’s eyes flashed with a sharp glint as he roared, "A life for a life! Qu Ping was the boss of a City, and since he died at your hands, you will undoubtedly die today!"

They hadn’t even caught the Ghost Demon yet, and a City boss was already dead. Du Jun was truly furious. He couldn’t escape the blame; he would definitely face severe reprimands from the higher-ups. Only by eliminating this Super Great Demon and capturing the Ghost Demon could he offset his failure with merit.

"Idiots," Tu Xiao’an cursed under his breath, too lazy to explain any further.

"Boss Du, let’s kill this Demon together and avenge Qu Ping!" Yan Guan declared.

Du Jun nodded, his killing intent fully unleashed and long since impossible to suppress.

Tu Xiao’an felt incredibly frustrated. He really didn’t want to fight these people right now. It was blatantly obvious that the Ghost Demon had framed him. If they fought now, wouldn’t they just be playing right into the hands of the hidden Ghost Demon? This was basically infighting. He found it impossible to get on the same page as these morons. Their IQs were simply too low.

However, whether or not Tu Xiao’an wanted to fight was no longer up to him.

Du Jun and Yan Guan charged at him from the left and right. Their War God auras were thick and oppressive, and they showed zero mercy from the very first strike. One was Level 38, and the other was Level 39. Both were major figures in the human government. It was roughly equivalent to Tu Xiao’an facing off against the Gray Demon King and the Yellow Demon King in the Yaoling Mountain Range.

Except, the current Tu Xiao’an was far stronger than he had been back then. Taking on two opponents at once brought him no pressure whatsoever. In fact, he was completely confident he could wipe both of these fools out.

Yet, Tu Xiao’an couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t quite right.

"Xiaoyang!" Tu Xiao’an summoned with a mental command, and an eerie man instantly materialized. "Hold him off for me!"

Tu Xiao’an had summoned his Artifact Spirit and ordered him to deal with Du Jun, a Third stage Peak War God. After exploring the ruins in City X, Tu Xiao’an had not only gained an invincible son, but also this Artifact Spirit, whose strength was on par with Rank Four.

"Yes, Master!" Artifact Spirit Xiaoyang excitedly charged toward Du Jun. He could finally stretch his limbs.

Tu Xiao’an locked his gaze onto Yan Guan. It wasn’t because Yan Guan was weaker and he wanted to pick the easiest target. Instead, it was because there was something distinctly off about this man. Just a moment ago, Yan Guan had been constantly goading Du Jun, deliberately steering all the attention onto Tu Xiao’an.

BAM BAM BAM...!

After exchanging a few blows with Yan Guan, Tu Xiao’an voiced his surprise, "Your aura is wrong. You aren’t Yan Guan! Who are you?"

When a human Martial Cultivator cultivated to the level of a High Rank War God, their aura should be incredibly righteous and imposing. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be worthy of the title ’War God.’ A War God existed to vanquish Demons and eradicate evil; they were humanity’s Guardian Gods.

"Great Demon, I have no idea what you’re talking about! Die!"

A longsword radiating flowing Baoguang appeared in Yan Guan’s hand. One glance was enough to tell it was no ordinary object; it was in no way inferior to Tu Xiao’an’s Heaven Swaying Sword. To become a High Rank War God, his Weapons were undoubtedly top-tier.

"Qu Ping was decapitated by a sharp object," Tu Xiao’an stated coldly, expertly parrying Yan Guan’s attacks. "I’d say that sword in your hand is the murder Weapon."

"Qu Ping and I are both City bosses. Why would I kill him? You stupid Demon, you’re just spouting utter nonsense!"
