Chapter 1020: Teach Them a Good Lesson

Xiao Xiao squinted her eyes and smiled, softly saying, “Young Master, as long as we follow the plan, we’ll definitely catch them off guard.” Her tone carried a hint of craftiness, clearly confident in the upcoming plan.

The two of them exchanged glances, in perfect synchrony, then hesitated no more and began to prepare for the next step of their actions.

Shortly after, a burst of laughter came from afar, followed by Chen Rui coming over, surrounded by a group of beautiful women, with a face full of enjoyment.

The women were all dressed flamboyantly, adorned like blooming flowers; some held onto Chen Rui’s arm while others clung closely by his side, their voices charming and coquettish complaints echoed one after another.

“Young Master Chen, you surely are incredible to easily deal with those people.” A charming beauty blinked her sparkling eyes, getting close to Chen Rui’s ear, softly acting coy.

Another long-haired beauty with a graceful figure gently drew circles on Chen Rui’s chest with her soft fingers, giggling, “Young Master, please don’t be mad. Let me serve you properly, ensuring you’ll be in a great mood.”

The rest of the women wouldn’t be outdone, swarming forward; some patted Chen Rui’s shoulders lightly, while others held round fans to gently fan him. Every beauty tried to showcase her most seductive side, afraid of losing out to others.

Chen Rui was surrounded by the beauties, his face full of pride.

He raised his head, enjoying the considerate attention from the women, his brows and eyes full of contentment.

At times he would slightly close his eyes, immersed in the service of the beauties, at times he would squint to admire their charming looks, feeling increasingly smug.

“Hmph, let those ignorant fools see what it means to cross me, Chen Rui.” Chen Rui thought secretly, while a cold smile formed at the corner of his mouth. He slightly raised his hand, and the beauties immediately stopped their actions, focusing on him with worshipful eyes.

“Once this affair is sorted, I’ll take you to a banquet in the city’s taverns,” Chen Rui said nonchalantly.

Upon hearing this, the beauties instantly brightened with joy, responding coquettishly, “Young Master is the best, we adore you!” “Indeed, Young Master Chen always pampers us!” They surrounded Chen Rui even more enthusiastically, as if about to drown him in tenderness.

At this moment, Chen Rui was completely immersed in this feeling of being adored like the moon among stars, utterly unaware of the lurking danger.

His focus was entirely drawn to this group of beauties, his face wearing a satisfied smile, walking at a leisurely pace, step by step towards where Ye Qingchen and Xiao Xiao were.

Chen Rui sauntered to Ye Qingchen, casually sweeping his gaze over him and Xiao Xiao, unaware of any anomaly.

Xiao Xiao’s facial disguise technique indeed proved as superb as she claimed, with Chen Rui utterly oblivious that “Old Liu” and “Da Hei” were actually Ye Qingchen and Xiao Xiao in disguise. He still wore a face full of self-assurance, as if everything was under his control.

Chen Rui’s gaze then turned to the pigpen, seeing two people tied up tightly, their heads covered with sacks, struggling increasingly fervently.

However, their struggling sounds were suppressed by the cloth stuffed in their mouths, only yielding broken whimpers, appearing incredibly pathetic. The foul stench of the pigpen filled the air, mixed with the odor of pig filth and waste, nauseatingly revolting.

Seeing this scene, Chen Rui smiled in satisfaction, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, his eyes filled with strong disdain.

He stepped forward, hands behind his back, looking down at the two in the pigpen in a superior manner, triumphantly asking, “Da Hei, how are Ye Qingchen’s people?”

He glanced at Da Hei and Old Liu still struggling in the pigpen, the smile at the corners of his mouth growing more pronounced: “Hey, looks like these two are quite spirited, still refusing to yield, truly amusing.”

Chen Rui’s words carried a tone of contempt and the delight of a victor, as though enjoying a drama he directed.

He was completely oblivious that the “Da Hei” before him was indeed Ye Qingchen, the one he intended to deal with, and that “Old Liu” was also the trusted face-changer he had easily relied upon. He remained immersed in the illusion of his victory, assuming he was secure in triumph.

The two in the pigpen, hearing Chen Rui’s voice, struggled even harder, attempting to make louder sounds; yet, no matter their effort, the sounds remained suppressed by the cloth, increasingly feeble and desperate.

Seeing this, Chen Rui lightly shook his head, letting out a cold laugh: “Don’t bother, today you’re in my hands, count yourselves unlucky.” Finished speaking, he turned to look at Ye Qingchen, waiting for “Da Hei” to report more “good news.”

Ye Qingchen’s face showed a mischievous smile, his tone carrying pride and mockery as he spoke to Chen Rui: “Young Master, you wouldn’t know, just now these two were rather mouthy, even daring to insult you. When I heard, I couldn’t hold back, and gave them a good beating, making them cry for their parents, finally they were a bit more obedient.”

As he said this, the smile at the corners of Ye Qingchen’s mouth deepened, as if showing off in front of Chen Rui.

He intentionally exaggerated the events to curry favor with Chen Rui, despite harboring disdain deep down; yet, at this moment, he presented himself as compliant and enthusiastic, seemingly filled with admiration and loyalty to Chen Rui.

Upon hearing this, Chen Rui’s face immediately changed, rage surging in an instant.

He swiftly turned, glaring at the two in the pigpen with dangerous sparks in his eyes.

His anger was almost ignited instantly, like a volcano that could erupt at any moment. The pride on his face was replaced by fury, fists clenched tightly, his entire body slightly trembling.

“What? Those insolent fools dared to insult me?” Chen Rui’s voice was low and full of anger, his gaze carrying intense murderous intent. He gritted his teeth, as though hearing a great insult, “They dared to speak ill of me behind my back, truly courting death!”

The more he spoke, the angrier he became, as if pushed to the limit.

Chen Rui glared fiercely at the two in the pigpen, the veins on his face bulging out, as if the next second he would rush in to tear them apart with his own hands.

He could not tolerate anyone daring to disrespect him, let alone before him mentioning these insults.

Ye Qingchen’s words undoubtedly ignited the fury deep in Chen Rui’s heart, making him yearn to immediately impose the harshest punishment on them.

“Fine, excellent!” Chen Rui said coldly, biting his teeth, his voice filled with chilling emotion, “It seems I was too merciful. Da Hei, well done, thrash them a bit, teach them a proper lesson!”

Ye Qingchen still wore that mischievous smile, his tone full of provocation: “Young Master, just thrashing them is too lenient. Why don’t I pull them from the pigpen, and let you personally discipline them once? Since they dare to insult you, they can’t go unpunished.”
