Invincible Soul Emperor
Chapter 1022: Let’s Go
Chapter 1022: Chapter 1022: Let’s Go
Da Hei was particularly terrified, having witnessed firsthand the scene where others were whipped by the Spirit Whip. The agonizing screams still echoed in his ears.
He could hardly imagine that he would end up in the same situation.
His heart seemed to be gripped tightly by an invisible hand, beating violently, on the verge of fainting.
Even though Old Liu was powerful, he was helpless in the face of this Spirit Whip.
Feeling the terrifying aura the Spirit Whip exuded, his inner fear even surpassed his anger.
Struggling to make a sound to beg for mercy, he knew that no amount of struggle and pleading would be of any use. In the face of Chen Rui’s terrifying Spirit Whip, they could only wait for fate to descend.
Chen Rui looked at the fear-twisted faces of the two, a proud smile curled at the corner of his lips.
He gently swung the Spirit Whip, relishing the thrill of controlling life and death, as if these two people before him were mere playthings, their fate entirely in his hands.
Ye Qingchen wore a cold smile, extending his palm with a light wave, Spiritual Power binding Old Liu and Da Hei like invisible ropes, pressing them firmly to the ground.
With just a slight force from his palm, he could feel the two men’s Spiritual Power completely suppressed, unable to resist. Ye Qingchen moved swiftly, as if everything was under his control.
He carefully ensured every thread of Spiritual Power tightly wrapped around the two’s limbs and bodies, rendering them immobile, at Chen Rui’s disposal.
"Master, please proceed," Ye Qingchen said flatly, his voice carrying a hint of an unobtrusive amusement.
Upon hearing this, a flash of excitement and brutality passed through Chen Rui’s eyes.
He raised the Spirit Whip high, its body humming lowly, forewarning the impending pain.
Chen Rui’s look of pride became more apparent, and without hesitation, he swung his arm, the Spirit Whip slicing through the air with a piercing whistle, landing sharply on Old Liu’s back.
"Pop!" At the moment the whip made contact with flesh, there was a deafening crack.
Old Liu’s body convulsed violently, a heart-rending scream escaping his lips, as if his whole being was torn apart by the power of the Spirit Whip.
The runes on the Spirit Whip activated instantly, releasing a bolt of lightning that pierced Old Liu’s skin, stabbing into his soul. His body arched abruptly, eyes wide open, in such pain he nearly fainted.
Chen Rui showed no compassion, instead growing more excited seeing Old Liu’s pain.
He swung the Spirit Whip again, this time it struck heavily on Da Hei’s body.
Da Hei’s shrieks were equally harrowing, his muscles torn by the Spirit Whip, skin instantly charred, as if flames were burning within him.
Every lash brought intense pain, as if a wound was being ripped open directly on his soul, the torment beyond measure.
Chen Rui wielded the Spirit Whip faster and faster, each lash carrying the force of a Thunderclap, striking the two.
The whip’s spikes ruthlessly tore the skin, leaving bloody wounds, blood mixing with sweat, forming a pool of red on the ground.
Old Liu and Da Hei’s bodies convulsed uncontrollably from the intense pain, eyes bloodshot from excruciating agony, throats emitting intermittent groans, but they lacked the strength to make any more sound.
As the whipping continued, their bodies gradually lost strength, eventually collapsing helplessly to the ground.
Their flesh whipped until it was lacerated and bloody, once strong bodies now resembling a heap of lifeless mud.
Their breathing grew weaker, gazes unfocused, appearing half-dead, only the faint sound of breathing proving they had not completely perished.
Chen Rui finally stopped the Spirit Whip in his hand, panting heavily, fine beads of sweat on his forehead, but his face bore a satisfied smile.
Looking at the two tormented figures before him, his heart was filled with the pleasure of victory, as if all humiliation and anger had been vented.
Chen Rui’s hand holding the Spirit Whip slightly paused, looking at the barely alive two on the ground, a satisfied smile rose at the corner of his mouth.
The anger on his face had long dissipated, replaced by a deep sense of fulfillment.
He walked over to Ye Qingchen, patting his shoulder, his tone full of praise: "Da Hei, you did well this time, the task I gave you, you completed beautifully. It was quite a thrill."
Chen Rui nodded slightly, satisfiedly surveying his surroundings, as if admiring his handiwork, his gaze lingered on the two’s unbearable bodies for a moment. He continued, "Rest assured, this time upon return, I will reward you heavily. These two can’t stir up any trouble now, let Old Liu guard them here. You come with me and rest well, await your reward."
Ye Qingchen listened to Chen Rui’s words, maintaining his usual loyal demeanor, but internally had already made up his mind. He feigned obedience, slightly bowing his head, and subtly glanced at Xiao Xiao, his eyes carrying an obscure signal.
Xiao Xiao stood aside, keenly catching Ye Qingchen’s eye contact, knowingly nodding slightly, as if merely agreeing with Chen Rui’s words, but actually tacitly responding to Ye Qingchen. She took over the conversation with a rough voice, "Master, rest assured, with Old Liu guarding, nothing will go wrong."
To Chen Rui, this scene was merely a display of subordinates’ tacit coordination, arousing no suspicion from him.
On the contrary, in a good mood, he gestured for the two to follow him, completely unaware that right under his nose, Ye Qingchen and Xiao Xiao’s interaction concealed other intentions.
"Master, in that case, let’s go." Ye Qingchen said with a smile, outwardly appearing normal, but internally plotting the next step.
Ye Qingchen followed Chen Rui, maintaining a respectful demeanor all the way, silently walking by Chen Rui’s side, yet discreetly observing the surroundings, ready to respond to any sudden situations.
Chen Rui took Ye Qingchen back to the spacious hall, sat in an intricately carved redwood chair, appearing exceptionally comfortable.
He leaned against the backrest, enjoying the fragrant tea and snacks brought by the beauties, his mood particularly relaxed, as if the earlier anger and tension were discarded.
Ye Qingchen stood aside, seeing Chen Rui’s smug look, secretly sneering inside, but outwardly maintaining a respectful attitude.
He slightly bent over, his tone carrying a hint of cautious inquiry: "Young Master, shall we continue tormenting those two?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a trace of viciousness flashed in Chen Rui’s eyes but soon disappeared, resuming his leisurely demeanor.
He slowly put down the teacup in his hand, his gaze faintly swept over Ye Qingchen, as if pondering something.
