Chapter 1025: Chapter 1025: The Terrifying Swine Horde
Yet the surprise and doubts lingered in Xiao Xiao’s heart—why did these Filthy Pigs not attack Da Hei and Old Liu inside the pigsty but instead pursue her relentlessly?
She gripped her weapon tightly, ready to respond to any ensuing changes.
A dozen filthy pigs burst out from the pigsty, their dark fur covered in mud and moldy food scraps.
Their eyes were murky and fierce, emitting a ghostly green glow, saliva dripping disgustingly from their mouths, revealing a row of sharp fangs. Each pig was enormous, with sturdy limbs, and their hooves slammed onto the ground with a dull "bang bang" sound, as if the earth trembled at their arrival.
Their skin was riddled with deep cracks, oozing black-red pus that spread an unbearable stench, like the smell of rotting corpses mixed with sewage, almost suffocating.
Seeing this scene, Xiao Xiao’s heart tightened, and she hurriedly prepared her defenses. Her fingers swiftly formed hand seals, and suddenly, a radiant barrier emerged in front of her, covered with ancient Runes that emitted a faint blue glow, as if a divine force descended from the sky.
A silver halo surrounded the barrier, flowing with Xiao Xiao’s thoughts, shining with the glow of protection.
She held her breath, concentrated her spirit and gathered her Qi, focusing all her power on this barrier to confront these fierce and foul pigs.
The pig herd crashed into Xiao Xiao’s barrier, each collision producing a deafening roar, like giant rocks smacking against an iron wall.
The filthy pigs fiercely bit the barrier with their sharp teeth, and the sound of fangs grinding against the barrier emitted a piercing squeal, while their putrid saliva dripped onto the barrier, sizzling with corrosive sounds, and although the barrier flickered under pressure, it did not shatter.
Xiao Xiao did not relax for a moment, feeling the barrier’s power rapidly deplete, as the pig herd’s attacks became increasingly ferocious.
She knew she couldn’t just defend; she had to attack.
Swiftly, she drew a slender short sword from her waist, its blade gleaming with cold light, and with a gentle swing, the sword tip sliced through the air, producing a crisp resonance.
She deftly leaped out of the barrier, slashing towards the nearest pig, which reacted swiftly, opening its bloodied mouth to bite.
With agile movements, Xiao Xiao dodged the sharp fangs, the short sword precisely piercing the pig’s neck.
The pig howled in pain, murky blood gushed out, carrying a nauseating stench.
However, upon seeing this, the other pigs became increasingly frenzied. They appeared fearless, madly charging at Xiao Xiao, their massive bodies squeezing together, forming a raging torrent.
Xiao Xiao continued to dodge, the short sword in her hand transforming into a stream of silver light, each strike accurately hitting its target, but the sheer number of pigs seemed endless.
As the battle intensified, Xiao Xiao gradually felt fatigue, sweat dripping from her forehead, her breath becoming hurried.
Seeing a few pigs closing in, she suddenly clenched her teeth, channeling all her power to the sword tip, where it exploded into a dazzling light, like lightning flashing across the night sky.
With a rapid swing, the sword light transformed into a whirlwind, engulfing the surrounding pig herd.
With this strike, several pigs in the herd screamed and immediately fell, dirty blood splattering all over the ground.
Upon witnessing such a powerful offensive, the other pigs actually began to retreat, and the previously surging attack crumbled instantly.
Xiao Xiao panted heavily, tightly gripping the sword in her hand, watching the retreating pig herd, a wave of relief flooding her heart, grateful for survival.
However, just as Xiao Xiao prepared to take a breath, the scene in front of her turned eerie. The fallen filthy pigs were not truly dead; their bodies began to tremble, blood vessels underneath their skin gradually bulged, turning black as ink, as if some evil force flowed within them.
The surrounding air grew heavy and oppressive, a thick Demonic Qi surged from within the pig herd, rapidly permeating the entire space, seemingly transforming the heavens and earth into a realm of darkness.
The bodies of these filthy pigs rapidly swelled, their already massive forms becoming even more terrifying.
Their skin split open, revealing charred black muscles and bones glinting with an eerie glow, as if transformed into some undead monstrosity.
The pigs’ eyes were completely engulfed by black Demonic Qi, turning into two deep black holes, while the teeth in their mouths grew longer and sharper, gleaming like daggers.
Their breaths became deep and fierce, each exhale spewing corrosive fumes, scorching the ground around them into a charred black.
Demonic Qi swirled in the air, forming a massive vortex, continuously absorbing all life around it.
Xiao Xiao’s heart tightened instantly, feeling an intangible pressure crashing towards her.
She sensed the Demonic Qi suppressed within her own body responding, starting to stir restlessly within her meridians, as if trying to break free from her control and erupt completely.
Xiao Xiao’s face paled instantly; she knew the consequences if she lost control would be disastrous.
Quickly, she sat cross-legged, placed her hands together, took a deep breath, focusing all her mind on her body, rapidly circulating Spiritual Power within, attempting to suppress the uncontrollable Demonic Qi.
Cold sweat emerged on Xiao Xiao’s forehead, Spiritual Power flowed rapidly within her, like torrents rushing down a stream, attempting to confine the restless Demonic Qi within her Dantian.
However, the Demonic Qi surged like a wild horse, fiercely attacking her meridians, each impact causing severe pain, akin to unbearable arrows piercing her heart.
Clenching her teeth, Xiao Xiao desperately maintained the flow of Spiritual Power, striving to suppress the rampant force.
Finally, after a fierce internal struggle, the Demonic Qi gradually calmed down, sealed once again deep within her being.
Gasping heavily, Xiao Xiao’s face turned even paler, her body slightly trembled, yet she had no time to rest.
She knew the crisis was far from over.
Rapidly rising to her feet, Xiao Xiao tightly gripped the short sword in her hand, her gaze icy as she scanned the pigs now thoroughly tainted by Demonic Qi. They had grown even more savage, seemingly losing all reason, driven only by their instinct to kill. Xiao Xiao understood that only a swift battle could preserve her life.
Charging fiercely towards the foremost filthy pig, her movements quick as lightning, the short sword in her hand slashed through the air like a meteor, piercing directly into the pig’s eye socket.
The pig let out a sharp cry upon being pierced, but this time, it did not fall down; instead, it became even more frenzied, flailing its hooves in an attempt to swat Xiao Xiao away.
