Chapter 1026: Chapter 1026: Kill

Xiao Xiao’s figure flickered, evading the pig’s attack. In the next instant, with lightning speed, she swept around behind it, the short sword in her hand gleaming with a cold light as she viciously slashed across the pig’s throat.

Blood fountained out like a spring, yet the pig still did not fall. Its wound actually began to heal rapidly under the influence of Demonic Qi.

A bad feeling flashed through Xiao Xiao’s heart. The regenerative ability of these pigs had clearly surpassed anything normal—she had to change tactics.

She turned the sword’s edge, point stabbing toward the ground, then suddenly swept it. A deep fissure instantly split open across the floor, and from within the crack surged a gush of scorching flames.

The flames twisted in midair into several Fire Dragons, roaring as they dove at the herd of pigs, shrouding several of them in an instant. Under the Demonic Qi’s effect, the flames burned with abnormal ferocity, even distorting the very air.

The pigs swallowed by fire rolled and thrashed in agony, their howls chilling enough to freeze the marrow.

Yet even so, the other pigs still charged at Xiao Xiao without regard for anything, as if their entire existence was solely to annihilate everything before them.

A trace of grim resolve flashed in Xiao Xiao’s eyes—she knew she could no longer hold anything back.

She swiftly pulled out a talisman from her robe. Complex Runes were inscribed upon it, emitting a faint Golden Light. She bit her fingertip, quickly drew a blood-red symbol on the talisman, then hurled it high into the air.

Mid-flight, the talisman suddenly erupted with a blinding radiance, as though a blazing sun had abruptly risen, flooding the entire dark space with light in an instant.

The light transformed into countless razor-sharp strands of Sword Qi, cascading down like a meteor shower, piercing through the bodies of the pigs in a heartbeat.

The pigs struck by the Sword Qi screamed in shrill misery, their bodies rapidly collapsing within the glow, unraveling into wisps of black smoke that vanished into the air.

These Filthy Pigs truly were not so easy to deal with.

Though Xiao Xiao had just wiped out a portion of them, she quickly realized that the remaining pigs did not retreat at the death of their companions—instead, they grew even more frenzied. Their eyes were completely swallowed by darkness, their bodies swelling to the brink of bursting; each pig seemed to have turned into a moving black hill.

With every breath they took, the surrounding air thickened, as if an invisible pressure were relentlessly bearing down on Xiao Xiao, squeezing the air from her lungs.

The herd of pigs suddenly let out an earth-shaking bellow and charged at Xiao Xiao in unison.

Their speed was as swift as lightning. Their immense, heavy bodies slammed into the ground with dull "boom"s, shaking the entire space like an earthquake. Their hooves were as sharp as blades, sweeping wildly toward Xiao Xiao. Every strike carried violent force sufficient to crush a boulder to powder in an instant.

The air was saturated with a pungent stench of rot. Corrosive slime spewed from the pigs’ mouths, shooting toward Xiao Xiao like venom.

Xiao Xiao rapidly unfolded her movement technique, drifting like a wisp of cloud as she wove and dodged amidst the herd’s berserk assaults. But she quickly realized that at this rate, there was no way to truly destroy these Demons.

Resolve flashed again in her eyes—she knew that at this moment she could not afford even the slightest reservation.

"Vermilion Bird Holy Soul, manifest!"

At her low shout, a searing aura suddenly erupted from Xiao Xiao’s entire body. That aura carried ancient majesty and destructive power, like a god who had slept for ages now awakening. Her figure was engulfed in raging flames, the fire a blazing vermilion red that seemed to dye even the heavens crimson.

At the heart of the flames, a gigantic Vermilion Bird phantom gradually condensed into form.

The Vermilion Bird’s entire body blazed with inextinguishable Holy Fire, its wings spread wide like a scorching sun hanging in the sky. Its eyes burned like twin stars, brimming with endless pressure and divine presence.

Every feather of the Vermilion Bird radiated piercing light, as though capable of incinerating all filth in the world.

Xiao Xiao’s power fused with that of the Vermilion Bird. The Vermilion Bird Holy Soul’s strength surged along her meridians into her body. In an instant, she felt a mighty force coursing within her—a power sufficient to shake heaven and earth.

She closed her eyes slightly, sensing the torrent of that power, then snapped them open. Flames identical to the Vermilion Bird Holy Soul’s burned within her gaze.

With a soft shout, the short sword in her hand was instantly wrapped in Vermilion Bird Holy Fire. The blade turned scarlet, like a Divine Weapon forged within a sea of flames.

Xiao Xiao raised the sword high above her head, then slashed down with sudden ferocity. A torrent of blazing flame Sword Qi erupted from the sword tip, surging straight toward the rampaging Filthy Pigs. In midair, the Sword Qi took the shape of a Vermilion Bird, carrying unstoppable might as it plunged into the herd.

The few Filthy Pigs charging in the very front were struck by the Sword Qi and swallowed by Holy Fire in a single instant. Their bodies twisted violently within the flames, shrieking in wretched agony.

This time, however, was different from before. The Vermilion Bird Holy Fire’s power was exceedingly pure, specifically restraining these foul creatures tainted by Demonic Qi.

The pigs’ bodies rapidly collapsed within the Holy Fire, dispersing into trails of black smoke that faded into the air, never again to recover.

Yet the remaining pigs clearly sensed how great a threat Xiao Xiao’s power posed; they grew even more frenzied, hurling themselves at her in madness.

Each pig seemed to carry an unstoppable impact. Their massive hooves hammered the ground, making the earth quiver and mountains seem to shake. Their tusks were razor sharp; every bite was accompanied by a fierce gust of wind, as if it could tear anything to shreds.

Corrosive venom lashed toward Xiao Xiao like torrential rain, the ground hissing and smoking as it was eaten away, sending up coils of black fumes.

Xiao Xiao’s expression remained composed, her eyes locked on the ferocious herd charging at her.

She focused all her strength into the short sword in her hand. The flames along the blade grew ever more intense, distorting even the air around it. She drove the short sword hard into the ground and began to softly chant a Spell. The Vermilion Bird phantom burst from her body, spiraling into the sky. Then, as she swung the sword with sudden force, the Vermilion Bird phantom transformed into a blazing storm of fire, sweeping out in all directions.

The firestorm expanded rapidly from Xiao Xiao as its center. Wherever it passed, the Filthy Pigs were sucked into its heart, powerless to resist.

Their bodies burned and disintegrated swiftly within the flames, their screams rising one after another in an unending chorus—yet not a single pig managed to escape. Within the firestorm, the Vermilion Bird’s Holy Fire seemed to possess a will of its own, seeking out the densest concentrations of Demonic Qi and utterly incinerating them.

Faced with this blazing might, no matter how fierce the herd’s assault, it could not break through. In the end, they were reduced to ash one after another within the Holy Fire.

As the last pig fell, Xiao Xiao’s figure gradually emerged from the flames. Her expression remained calm, but her body was already trembling faintly.

She understood clearly that although this battle was over, the true danger had only just begun.

She could feel the Demonic Qi within her body, stirred up by this fierce battle, beginning to rampage uncontrollably through her meridians.
