Chapter 1027: Suppression

Xiao Xiao immediately sat cross-legged, swiftly forming hand seals with her hands, entering a meditative state.

Demonic Qi was like a group of irritable dragons, violently crashing through her meridians, attempting to tear all seals within her body apart.

They raced along her meridians with heart-wrenching pain, as if trying to rip Xiao Xiao’s body to shreds.

Xiao Xiao clenched her teeth, furrowed her brows, cold sweat seeped from her forehead, sliding down her cheeks drop by drop.

The Demonic Qi first concentrated at her Dantian, it was a force so strong as if about to erupt from there, breaking through her body’s constraints, devouring everything.

Xiao Xiao swiftly mobilized her Spiritual Power, attempting to suppress the Demonic Qi back into the Dantian.

However, the Demonic Qi seemed to sense the threat, suddenly bursting with greater resistance, dispersing rapidly, frantically darting through her limbs and bones, striving to escape Xiao Xiao’s control.

Within Xiao Xiao, her meridians felt like they were being scorched by intense fire, every inch of muscle, every bone was trembling violently, seemingly on the verge of collapse.

She strived to maintain clarity, desperately focusing her mind, controlling her Spiritual Power as it rapidly flowed through her meridians, attempting to lockdown the rampaging Demonic Qi.

Yet, the force of the Demonic Qi was extraordinarily violent, its speed astoundingly swift, Xiao Xiao felt her Spiritual Power almost unable to keep up with the flow of the Demonic Qi.

In an instant, inside her, the Demonic Qi and Spiritual Power engaged in a battle of life and death.

The Demonic Qi sometimes suddenly impact her heart meridian, sometimes surge towards her mind, seeming to rob her of consciousness.

Xiao Xiao felt waves of dizziness and intense pain, her vision becoming blurry, even breathing turned difficult.

She took a deep breath, striving to suppress these negative sensations at the bottom of her heart, continuing to focus on channeling her Spiritual Power.

Xiao Xiao realized that if the Demonic Qi were to break through her heart meridian or flood into her consciousness, she would no longer be able to suppress it, the consequences unimaginable.

She mobilized all the Spiritual Power within her body, weaving it into fine nets, gradually threading through her meridians, attempting to trap the rampaging Demonic Qi. At the same time, she guided the Spiritual Power back to the Dantian, endeavoring to drive the Demonic Qi back to its original place.

After a strenuous struggle, the Demonic Qi finally began to weaken somewhat.

Xiao Xiao’s Spiritual Power gradually surrounded the frenzied Demonic Qi, bit by bit forcing them back into the Dantian. She felt the vibrations within her gradually subsiding, the Spiritual Power like strong chains slowly entwining the Demonic Qi, progressively subduing them.

The Demonic Qi in the Dantian reluctantly churned, but ultimately, under the powerful suppression of Spiritual Power, gradually calmed down.

Xiao Xiao felt the severe pain gradually diminish, her breathing too slowly returned to stability.

Her Spiritual Power formed a sturdy barrier at the Dantian, firmly sealing the Demonic Qi within, preventing any trace of escape.

After a long while, Xiao Xiao finally let out a breath of relief, she could feel the Demonic Qi inside her successfully subdued once again.

Though there were still lingering hidden dangers, at least for now they could no longer pose a threat to her.

She slowly opened her eyes, though her complexion was still somewhat pale, a look of determination and calmness was added to her gaze.

She knew that although this peril was temporarily resolved, the Demonic Qi within her remained a latent threat capable of erupting anytime, henceforth she must be more cautious, constantly vigilant to prevent them from spiraling out of control again.

On the other side.

Ye Qingchen followed alongside Chen Rui, the two walked from the palace city’s grand entrance all the way inside. Within the palace city, the edifices were towering and majestic, each palace adorned with intricate carvings and paintings, emanating an ancient and mystic aura.

Golden rooftops glimmered under the sunlight, seeming coated with a halo of sacred radiance. The marble-paved ground was smooth as a mirror, each stone slab engraved with complex and exquisite patterns, seemingly narrating the long history of this palace city.

In the surrounding gardens, exotic flowers and rare plants bloomed competitively, their fragrance overwhelming.

In jade-carved flower beds, precious Spirit Grass quietly grew, as if the clamor of the world could not disturb the tranquility here.

Tall stone-carved beasts stood vividly, guarding the palace entrances, each statue emanating an invisible solemnity.

Massive bronze door rings were heavy and imposing, the doors carved with dragon patterns symbolizing imperial power, as if proclaiming the supremacy here.

As they walked, Ye Qingchen observed the various levels of stringent defenses.

Upon entering the palace city, he already felt a sense of oppression, teams of guards in elaborate armor patrolling back and forth at the entrance, each guard’s gaze sharp like an eagle, vigilantly scanning the surroundings.

The guards’ steps were uniform, like a well-trained army, the atmosphere around extremely tense.

However, as Chen Rui led Ye Qingchen gradually deeper into the palace city, the defensive strength weakened.

In the palace city’s depths, the previously tense patrol teams were now rare, replaced by some lightly dressed maids and eunuchs, bustling back and forth, carrying various food and spices, busy yet orderly. Even among the few guards, they only stood at some important passageways, their expressions vigilant yet much more relaxed.

Finally, the two arrived at a palace deep within the palace city.

This palace compared to earlier buildings was more rustic, seemingly imbued with the marks of time.

The palace entrance had few guards, only two armored guards stood at the door.

Compared to the elite outside, these guards although armored neatly, evidently lacked that kind of imposing vigor. They stood straight but their gazes lacked some of the sharp edge, as if the tranquility here had relaxed them considerably.

When the two guards saw Chen Rui approaching, they promptly bowed respectfully, with a hint of respect and caution on their faces.

Clearly, they were very familiar with Chen Rui’s identity, even somewhat in awe. The left guard softly spoke, “Lord Chen, you have arrived.” His voice carried an attitude of utmost respect, filled with deference, not daring to show any neglect.

The right guard immediately continued, saying, “Please wait a moment, my lord, I will go inside to report.” Saying so, he immediately turned to walk into the hall, his actions swift and clean yet steady.

The other guard continued standing at the entrance, bowing his head respectfully at the side, evidently not daring to let them pass freely, nor daring to slack off in any way.

Though the atmosphere of this palace seemed calm, it still invisibly filled with a kind of awe that dared not let one easily relax.

Ye Qingchen stood beside Chen Rui, marveling inwardly at the layout and defenses of this palace city.

Though the defenses deep within the palace were not as severe as those outside, inside this palace, he could feel that there were only a few masters, if a direct move was made here against Jiang Qi, there was a great chance of success.

Soon, the guard emerged from within the palace, slightly nodded towards Chen Rui and Ye Qingchen, signaling they could enter.
