The Black Demon Bear nodded. "Humans are complicated and treacherous. Their words and actions often don't match. Pretending to be weak is a way to test if the other person genuinely likes them. It's not like us Demon Beasts—if we like someone, we just conquer them with force."

"So that's how it is!"

The realization dawned on the Demon Beasts.

The Black Demon Bear said, "To tell you the truth, the only reason we're still alive is because of that human girl named Luo Yu."

"Your Majesty, didn't you send someone to hunt down Luo Yu yesterday?"

the Green Demon Python reminded him.

"What?"

The Black Demon Bear's expression changed drastically.

The Green Demon Python asked in confusion, "Your Majesty, why are we leaving in such a hurry?"

"To prevent that man from coming back to kill us!"

The Black Demon Bear trembled. "If that man comes back behind Luo Yu's back, we'll all die here. He'll kill us for our Demon Cores."

Hearing the Black Demon Bear's explanation, all the Demon Beasts quickened their pace.

However, they had only gone a few hundred meters when a group of people blocked their path.

An old man in black robes stood before them, accompanied by a dozen or so young men and women.

The purple-robed youth nodded gravely.

The purple-robed youth laughed. "I didn't expect these Demon Beasts to be so true to their word. They said they'd let us go, and they really did."

"They were probably just intimidated by Elder Zuo's immense strength."

However, Elder Zuo shook his head. "It wasn't me who intimidated them. With my strength, I couldn't possibly intimidate that Tier Seven Great Demon."

The purple-robed youth, oblivious to the danger, continued, "That's right. You spared us, so we'll help you kill Luo Yu as a way of repaying you, sir."

The pack of Demon Beasts charged toward the purple-robed youth, baring their fangs and claws.
