Invincible Starting From the Nine Dragons Technique
Chapter 449: Sword Intent Spirit
Su Mo regarded the Innate Spirit’s complaints with utter disdain.
‘Bullshit Divine-level Spiritual Soldier!’
‘It’s just a piece of scrap. It would be no big deal even if it were destroyed.’
‘Besides, it isn’t even destroyed. I only left a few finger marks on it.’
Seeing the two at a stalemate, Jiang Ruoxue quickly stepped forward to smooth things over. “Senior Innate Spirit, please calm your anger. Elder Su’s hand just slipped, that’s why he nearly destroyed the Meteor Divine Sword.”
“A slip of the hand? Hmph, I think he did it on purpose,” the Innate Spirit complained.
An awkward expression filled Jiang Ruoxue’s face.
‘Weren’t you the one who wanted to bet with him? That’s why he revealed his strength and nearly destroyed the Meteor Divine Sword.’
“You all came here for the Meteor Ancestor’s Divine-level inheritance, didn’t you?” the Innate Spirit asked angrily.
“Yes!” Jiang Ruoxue replied respectfully.
The Innate Spirit said coldly, “Originally, I was going to give you the inheritance. But now, you must pass a trial.”
“A trial?”
Jiang Ruoxue looked confused.
‘We already passed the Ancient Stele trial to open the stone door. Why is there another trial?’
The Innate Spirit said, “I’m the one setting this trial. If you can’t pass it, you can forget about obtaining the Meteor Ancestor’s inheritance.”
She hadn’t intended to make things difficult for them.
But she was simply too furious.
A junior had dared to call the Divine Sword she personally forged a piece of scrap. She had to give them a hard time.
“Senior, aren’t you just making things difficult for us?” Jiang Ruoxue said grimly.
The Innate Spirit said coldly, “Making things difficult? Hmph. I helped your ancestor obtain all his Cultivation Techniques, which is as good as teaching them to him myself. You want to inherit my legacy—don’t I have the right to set a trial for you?”
“Well…”
Jiang Ruoxue was speechless and turned to look at Han Yimo and Li Ming beside her.
The two of them exchanged helpless glances.
SHIING!
The Innate Spirit formed a hand seal. A massive amount of Sword Qi materialized in her palm, eventually coalescing into a small humanoid figure.
“A Sword Intent Spirit?”
Jiang Ruoxue and the others were utterly shocked.
This was a profound and mysterious technique; even someone who had cultivated their Sword Intent to the level of a Sword Domain might not be able to execute it.
Yet, the Innate Spirit had done it with ease.
This was a testament to the Innate Spirit’s terrifying power.
Even Su Mo, standing nearby, looked astonished.
‘In a way, this was equivalent to creating life.’
‘Even if this life could only last for an hour.’
“That’s right. This is a Sword Intent Spirit. Only by cultivating one’s Sword Intent to a profoundly deep Realm can one take this step.”
The Innate Spirit gave Su Mo a cold, arrogant look.
Just as she’d imagined, Su Mo’s face was filled with astonishment, clearly stunned by her display.
The Innate Spirit pointed at the humanoid figure and said, “If any one of you can defeat it, I’ll consider you to have passed the trial.”
“Do you mean it?” Li Ming asked, rushing forward.
The Innate Spirit glanced at Li Ming. “Of course. I am the noble Innate Spirit. My word is my bond.”
“Great!” Li Ming exclaimed, “Then let me give it a try!”
“Junior Brother Li, be careful!” Jiang Ruoxue and Han Yimo called out a warning.
Li Ming chuckled. “Senior Sister Jiang, Senior Brother Han, don’t you two worry. I may not be the most talented, but there’s no way I’ll lose to a mere Sword Spirit.”
“A mere Sword Spirit?”
The Innate Spirit sneered, settling in to enjoy the show.
Li Ming stepped forward and cupped his fist. “Senior Sword Spirit, I am Li Ming. Please, enlighten me.”
SWISH!
The Sword Spirit instantly unleashed a flash of sword light.
Li Ming’s expression changed in alarm. He hastily channeled his power to defend himself, but he was still sent flying.
Everyone present was left dumbfounded by the sight.
‘A sneak attack?’
‘No martial virtue?’
Li Ming struggled to his feet and demanded furiously, “Senior Sword Spirit, you attacked me without any warning! Aren’t you afraid people will mock you?”
“Does an enemy greet you before they attack?” the Sword Spirit said coldly.
Li Ming’s face turned livid, but he was left speechless by the retort.
The Sword Spirit said, “Next. Who’s coming?”
“I am!”
Han Yimo leaped in front of the Sword Spirit and, without a moment’s hesitation, began to channel his power.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Powerful, sharp Sword Qi surged toward the Sword Spirit like a tidal wave.
“Senior Brother Han is so strong,” Li Ming exclaimed in astonishment.
Su Mo also nodded to himself in approval.
Han Yimo was only in his twenties, yet he had already cultivated to the Mid Stage Martial Emperor Realm and honed his Sword Intent to such proficiency. He was indeed quite outstanding.
With Han Yimo’s current strength, it wouldn’t be difficult for him to defeat an expert at the Martial Emperor Perfection Realm.
“A pity, but he’s still no match for the Sword Spirit,” Su Mo sighed.
The Sword Spirit said flatly, “You’re a little smarter than Li Ming, knowing enough to strike first. But unfortunately, you’re still no match for me!”
SWISH!
A flash of sword light flared, and Han Yimo was knocked back.
“This…”
Li Ming and Jiang Ruoxue were utterly shocked.
Even their powerful senior brother, Han Yimo, was no match for the Sword Spirit.
‘How are we supposed to fight this?’
The Innate Spirit said tauntingly, “Jiang girl, why don’t you go up and try?”
“Fine!”
Jiang Ruoxue took a deep breath and walked before the Sword Spirit.
Even though she was fully prepared, she was still defeated without a doubt. She couldn’t even withstand a single move.
The Innate Spirit sneered, “Is that all you’ve got? And you dare come to receive the inheritance?”
Hearing this, the three of them lowered their heads in silence.
The three of them were the Saint Heirs of the Meteor Sect, and had been immensely proud. But now, they were so thoroughly beaten down that they had lost all their confidence.
After all, they couldn’t even withstand a single one of the Sword Spirit’s attacks.
“Sigh…” Su Mo sighed and said, “Is there any point in making things so difficult for them?”
The Innate Spirit said disdainfully, “The three of them simply lack the strength. They can’t beat the Sword Spirit I created, so how can you blame me?”
“Just tell me what it’ll take for them to pass,” Su Mo asked.
The Innate Spirit thought for a moment, then said, “If you can defeat the Sword Spirit, I’ll let the three of them pass. However…”
“However what?” Su Mo pressed.
The Innate Spirit said, “But before you make your move, I must strengthen the Sword Spirit.”
“Then go ahead and strengthen it,” Su Mo agreed.
FWOOM!
The Innate Spirit formed a hand seal and frantically poured power into the Sword Spirit, causing its strength to increase continuously until it reached the Half-Saint Realm.
After doing this, the Innate Spirit was instantly weakened.
“Is that… a Semi-Saint?”
“Senior Innate Spirit, you’re just doing this to make things difficult!”
“This contest can’t be counted!”
Jiang Ruoxue, Han Yimo, and Li Ming immediately objected.
The Innate Spirit said coldly, “I’m in charge here. I make the rules. If you’re not willing to compete, then leave this place and never dream of obtaining the Meteor Ancestor’s inheritance.”
“You…”
The three of them stared at the Innate Sword Spirit, their hearts filled with fury.
The Innate Spirit paid no mind to their fury.
The temporary trial she had set up was aimed at Su Mo from the very beginning. Seeing that Su Mo had taken the bait, she naturally wasn’t going to give up now.
The Innate Spirit said tauntingly, “Scared now? Alright, I don’t want to make things too difficult for you. Just say you’re sorry, and that’ll be the end of it.”
She thought Su Mo would yield.
But who would have known…
Su Mo said calmly, “A Semi-Saint Level Sword Spirit, is it? Very well. I’ll create a Semi-Saint Sword Spirit of my own, and we’ll see how it compares.”
