Invincible through Touching Corpses
Chapter 755 - 725: Arrangements (Part 2)
Watching the crowd surge toward them, Little Fatty’s face paled slightly. His hands tightened on the grip of his gun, and he subconsciously started to raise it.
In fact, he wasn’t the only one. Many other members of the Xinghai Squad had the same subconscious impulse to draw their guns.
After all, the scene was so sudden and bizarre that only a few people inside the Armored Vehicle could remain composed.
Of course, Little Fatty was only tense for a moment. He quickly snapped out of it and stole a glance at Lin Xinghai out of the corner of his eye.
When he saw Lin Xinghai looking out the window with an intrigued expression, his anxiety instantly melted away.
In truth, Lin Xinghai had already used his Perception Power to investigate the commotion at the entrance of the military base.
Although his Perception Power couldn’t pick up their conversations, he could tell from the expressions on their faces that some wonderful news had broken.
Considering the timing and the fact that everyone gathered was a student from East Sea Academy, he instantly deduced the reason.
"Boss, do you know what’s going on?" Little Fatty immediately asked.
"Just listen to what they’re shouting, and you’ll figure it out," Lin Xinghai said with a smile.
Little Fatty strained his ears, and amidst the chaotic shouting, he soon managed to pick out some information that he found unbelievable.
It wasn’t just Little Fatty; the other squad members were doing the same.
Soon, they all turned to look at Lin Xinghai, their eyes wide with shock.
They had heard that the Xinghai Squad’s total Points had skyrocketed to 200 million.
Lin Xinghai’s personal Points had also shot up from the previous 9.4 million to a staggering 186.4 million.
The rate at which the Points had skyrocketed was simply beyond their comprehension.
Little Fatty then recalled Lin Xinghai’s previous confident words. ’No wonder he dared to say that their rivals wouldn’t be able to surpass them on either the individual or the team leaderboards.’
Indeed, with their current 200 million Points, even if they didn’t complete a single mission for the next six days, the Flying Hero Team would still be hard-pressed to catch up.
However, the members of the Xinghai Squad soon noticed that even Lin Xinghai’s face held a look of surprise.
He had to be. After all, the gap between this number and the 80 million Points he had calculated was more than a little large.
In fact, it was enormous.
Lin Xinghai then walked over to the window of the Armored Vehicle and asked one of the students outside why they were all gathered there and if something special had happened.
He soon learned everything that had transpired at the Mission Hall. While he couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry, he silently gave the two academies a thumbs-up for their maneuvering.
If they hadn’t stirred things up, he wouldn’t have received those 65 million Points, and that was as good as cash!
The moment Lin Xinghai appeared, the crowd of students outside erupted, everyone chanting his name.
Of course, Lin Xinghai couldn’t just ignore them. He opened the hatch to the firing platform and stepped out onto it.
He glanced down at the sea of people below and raised his hand slightly.
In an instant, the noisy scene became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Even Lin Xinghai felt his heart skip a beat at the sight.
This was a sign of prestige—unparalleled prestige. At that moment, even Lin Xinghai’s normally placid heart felt a surge of emotion.
He took a deep breath before speaking slowly. "I know you all have many questions and many things you want to say. But what you want to know most is whether our East Sea Academy can win the university league championship, right?"
"YES!" the crowd below roared in unison.
"Good. While I can’t guarantee I can lead us to victory, I can guarantee that I will give it my absolute all," Lin Xinghai declared, his voice ringing with conviction.
"YEAH!" At that moment, the morale of the East Sea Academy students soared.
Someone even shouted up from the crowd, "Captain Lin, just tell us what you have planned next! As long as it’s something we can do, we’ll give it our all!"
Lin Xinghai looked in the direction of the voice, a flicker of surprise on his face when he saw who was speaking.
The speaker was Shi Anzhi, ranked 11th on the Points leaderboard. Within all of East Sea Academy, aside from Xiang Tianhua, he was the only one with a real shot at breaking into the top 10.
Now that even Shi Anzhi was pledging his support, it was clear that many of the fourth-year students who had reached the Body Shaping Realm had also accepted Lin Xinghai’s leadership.
"Alright. In that case, I’ll be brief."
"It’s an undeniable fact that, as of now, East Sea Academy’s overall strength lags behind the other two universities. But this gap isn’t actually that large. With the right strategy, I believe we can easily close it—and even surpass them."
"Any teams willing to follow my lead, please assemble in the open area in front of the East Sea Academy dormitories in one hour," Lin Xinghai announced.
This situation was even better than he had anticipated. He estimated that at least ninety percent of the students would show up, which meant a force of at least 6,000 people.
That was far more people than he had originally expected.
More importantly, with top-tier teams like Shi Anzhi’s willing to join, they would receive a major boost in both numbers and high-end combat power.
Under these circumstances, his options had expanded considerably. He even started to consider whether he should go for something big.
After Lin Xinghai finished speaking, the crowd below roared its approval.
Shi Anzhi then asked, "Is there anything we need to prepare?"
"Stock up on ammunition and supplies. Basically, just make all your pre-battle preparations," Lin Xinghai said.
With that said, no one asked any more questions. The crowd quickly dispersed to make their preparations.
The convoy was finally able to drive into the military base.
Only then did the members of the Xinghai Squad seem to snap out of a daze, staring at Lin Xinghai as if he were a deity.
"Boss, so what exactly are we going to do next?" Little Fatty asked, completely pumped up now that he’d come to his senses.
He had a feeling Lin Xinghai was about to do something huge.
"Alright, everyone go back and rest for half an hour. Little Fatty, you handle logistics and get everything ready. Also, invite Guan An to my quarters in half an hour," Lin Xinghai instructed.
"Guan An?" Little Fatty was confused for a moment, but then he quickly remembered who that was.
When the freshmen had first arrived at the military base yesterday, they hadn’t been able to accept Second Level Tasks right away.
It was Guan An’s dispute with Cui Ming from Capital University that had given Lin Xinghai an idea, creating an opportunity for him to display his strength.
Later, after they completed their first mission, they ran into Guan An again and ended up helping his team take down a Giant Arm.
Afterward, Guan An had apparently proposed some kind of mutually beneficial plan to Lin Xinghai. Little Fatty hadn’t paid much attention to the details at the time.
But now that Lin Xinghai was inviting him over, it was obviously related to that earlier proposal.
