Invincible through Touching Corpses
Chapter 767 Plotting Again (Middle)
Wan Feiyang and the other two finalized their preliminary plan. After a brief discussion, they quickly went their separate ways.
They then each found trusted friends to discuss the plan and ask if they were willing to go along with it.
After all, they couldn’t possibly provide all the resources needed for someone to break through to the Divine Demon Realm.
Anyone who wanted to reach the Divine Demon Realm would have to put up their own assets first. Only if that wasn’t enough would they step in and lend the remaining resources.
Yes, a loan. After all, no matter how good their relationship was, unless they were immediate family, it simply wasn’t worth paying such a steep price to help someone else.
This was precisely why they needed to ask first. Reaching the Divine Demon Realm ahead of schedule meant not only liquidating one’s own assets but also taking on a massive debt. Not everyone was willing to make such a sacrifice.
Of course, there were definite benefits. This university competition was a golden opportunity to rack up military merits.
There were so many Fourth Level Mutated Zombies here. Killing just one yielded over a million Points, all of which could eventually be converted into military merits.
Such an opportunity was truly once in a lifetime. A normal military mission would never offer such generous rewards, nor would there typically be so many Fourth Level Mutated Zombies available to hunt.
With a bit of luck, they could potentially earn back the investment in just a day or two.
So when Wan Feiyang and Xu Chengwen found the students they had their eyes on and briefly explained the plan, the candidates agreed almost immediately, with very little hesitation.
Immediately after, some students who were keeping a close watch on the Points leaderboard were shocked to find that the students ranked 11th and 15th had suddenly vanished from the list.
And that wasn’t all. Soon after, Wan Feiyang in 3rd place, Xu Chengwen in 4th, and Yi Hao in 5th also vanished from the rankings.
If the disappearance of two students from the top ranks had only caused a minor commotion, the fact that three Divine Demon Realm experts also instantly plummeted off the leaderboard triggered a massive uproar and a wave of panic.
A sudden disappearance from the Points leaderboard usually meant one thing: death.
However, some sharp-eyed students soon spotted the trio’s names at the very bottom of the list, allowing everyone to breathe a collective, quiet sigh of relief.
But it was inevitable that people would start asking around, trying to figure out what was happening.
Wan Feiyang, Xu Chengwen, and the others quickly came forward to explain. They laid out their plan, which not only eased everyone’s concerns but also boosted morale.
When the other students learned that the trio planned to use their Points to create two new Divine Demon Realm experts, they were both envious of the chosen candidates and filled with a secret sense of anticipation.
Because they finally saw a glimmer of hope for surpassing East Sea Academy.
It was worth noting that second place on the Points leaderboard now belonged to Liu Miaomiao.
After all, Liu Miaomiao could charge an average of 200,000 Points for healing a Divine Demon Realm expert. By treating ten people an hour, she could make 2,000,000 Points.
The rate at which she earned Points was higher than that of a typical Fourth Level Task. More importantly, she kept all these Points for herself, with no need to share them with other teammates.
Under these circumstances, her Point earnings even surpassed those of the other three Divine Demon Realm experts.
With such a major shift in the rankings, the members of East Sea Academy were naturally aware. Some of them quickly used their own channels to figure out the details of Wan Feiyang’s plan.
The information was passed up the chain, and just over ten minutes later, Lin Xinghai had received a detailed report.
"Boss, shouldn’t we do something to counter this?" Little Fatty’s anxious voice crackled through the Communication Device.
After getting the full picture, Lin Xinghai replied calmly, "We don’t need to do anything."
"But if they can really manage to kill ten Mutated Zombies an hour, they’ll be a huge threat to us."
"Boss, let me do the math for you. Killing a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie is worth 1 to 2 million Points. If we take the average, that’s 1.5 million. If they kill ten an hour, that’s 15 million Points."
"If they hunt Mutated Zombies nonstop for 24 hours, that single team they’ve assembled could earn 360 million Points in one day." Little Fatty’s voice trembled as he said the number. It was a terrifying thought.
Lin Xinghai couldn’t help but chuckle. "What, you really think they can pull that off?"
"Uh, can’t they?" Little Fatty was now genuinely confused.
"They could probably manage it at the start, sure. But think about it. How many Mutated Zombies are there in total right now? I doubt there are more than 300 in all of Changshi City. Do you really think one small team can kill 240 of them in a single day?"
"Besides, even if they could, do you think the Abyssal Plane is full of idiots? Would they just stand by and let them continue the slaughter?"
"Once they kill past a certain threshold, they’ll inevitably trigger a high-level alert from the Abyssal Plane. At that point, it won’t be them hunting Mutated Zombies anymore. The Mutated Zombies will be sent out specifically to hunt and kill *them*."
"And even taking a huge step back—let’s say they can hunt that fast *and* escape the Abyssal Plane’s retaliation—the total number of Points they’d get still wouldn’t be much more than ours."
"Don’t forget, those 360 million Points aren’t for just one university. Split between two, the threat to us is much smaller," Lin Xinghai explained to Little Fatty.
His analysis had an immediate and obvious effect. Little Fatty calmed down instantly.
"So, Boss, should I tell the others what you said?" Little Fatty asked.
"Yes, go tell them. And add one more thing: it doesn’t matter if they surpass our Points in the next few days. I have an ace up my sleeve to clinch the victory," Lin Xinghai said with a smile.
Little Fatty’s eyes lit up. He didn’t know what Lin Xinghai’s "ace" was, but he knew Lin Xinghai never made empty promises. If he said something like that, he must have a powerful trump card ready.
After reassuring Little Fatty, Lin Xinghai thought for a moment before placing a call to Shi Anzhi.
"Captain Lin, what can I do for you?" Shi Anzhi asked as soon as the call connected.
"I’m sure you’ve heard about what Capital University and Modu University are up to. If they can use resources to ’create’ two Divine Demon Realm experts, then naturally, so can I. I just wanted to ask... are you interested in becoming a Divine Demon Realm expert, and quickly?" Lin Xinghai said with a smile.
Little Fatty had previously relayed Xu Chengwen’s words from their mobilization meeting to him.
He actually quite agreed with Xu Chengwen’s sentiment: "If their method works, we’ll just copy it."
They couldn’t copy his methods, but he could easily copy theirs.
In fact, with more Points at his disposal, he could do it even better than they could.
