Invincible through Touching Corpses

Chapter 768 Plotting Again (Part 2)

When Shi Anzhi heard this from Lin Xinghai, he was stunned for a moment. The next second, he said excitedly, "I want to reach the Divine Demon Realm."

In fact, just last night, he had successfully collected enough Blood Bags to reach the Perfect State at the Peak of the Body Shaping Realm, putting him on the verge of a breakthrough.

He then attempted his breakthrough.

But... in the end, he failed. His total Blood Qi was insufficient to break through the bottleneck to the Divine Demon Realm.

He had actually anticipated this. After all, in the past, the probability of breaking through to the Divine Demon Realm was less than 1%, and those who could succeed on their first try were few and far between.

After failing their first attempt, many people could only continuously consolidate their foundations and do everything in their power to increase their total Blood Qi Power before trying again and again.

In the past, without the Marrow Tempering Realm, this process could take several years. It was even possible for those with shaky foundations in the previous Realms to be stuck for a lifetime, unable to advance.

So, after his failure yesterday, Shi Anzhi remained relatively calm. After all, things were different now. With the Marrow Tempering Realm, he could essentially start over. He believed that he would reach the Divine Demon Realm sooner or later.

But now, hearing Lin Xinghai suddenly ask if he wanted to reach the Divine Demon Realm, Shi Anzhi realized his composure wasn’t as solid as he’d imagined. He instantly grew excited, even impatient.

’After all, strength is what truly matters. Resources are just external things. Everything else can wait until after I reach the Divine Demon Realm.’

"Good! Besides you, who else at East Sea Academy do you think has what it takes to break through to the Divine Demon Realm?" Lin Xinghai asked.

"Actually, besides me, two others also met the requirements for a breakthrough last night. But, without exception, they both failed. They are Zhu Jian, ranked 18th on the Points leaderboard, and Jiang Hao, ranked 23rd," Shi Anzhi said.

"Alright, I’ll go look into it." Lin Xinghai nodded and quickly ended the call.

However, he didn’t go looking for Zhu Jian and Jiang Hao right away. First, he contacted Little Fatty to get their files and look them over.

After confirming there were no issues, he contacted the two of them.

Unsurprisingly, when they heard Lin Xinghai’s offer, both of them unhesitatingly agreed to borrow Points from him so they could break through to the Divine Demon Realm as soon as possible.

In truth, everyone knew how rare an opportunity this was. The military was offering generous rewards, and there were plenty of Fourth Level Mutated Zombies to hunt. Once they reached the Divine Demon Realm, they wouldn’t have to worry about paying back the Points at all.

Besides, reaching the Divine Demon Realm would give them the power to compete for a top-10 spot on the Points leaderboard. No matter how you sliced it, it was a profitable venture.

Once everyone had agreed, Lin Xinghai accompanied the three of them on a trip back to the main military base to exchange for resources.

However, after a brief discussion, the four of them decided not to follow Xu Chengwen’s plan, opting instead to modify it.

The biggest difference was that they didn’t intend to use Creation Essence Liquid to cultivate their Divine Demon Body for the Marrow Tempering Realm, because that stuff was just too expensive.

If they used Divine Demon Realm-level Body Tempering Elixirs instead, they would undoubtedly save a huge expense.

Moreover, it wouldn’t be that much slower; the time needed for the breakthrough would only increase from five hours to ten at most.

East Sea Academy didn’t feel the same sense of urgency as the other two universities, so it was no problem for these three to reach the Divine Demon Realm a few hours later.

In the end, Lin Xinghai lent each of them 30 million Points. Combined with their own savings, it was more than enough for them to break through.

Lin Xinghai’s actions, of course, quickly drew everyone’s attention. After all, suddenly dropping 90 million Points on the leaderboard was quite eye-catching.

However, when the students from East Sea Academy learned that Lin Xinghai was also helping people reach the Divine Demon Realm—and three at once, no less—they instantly became thrilled and excited, and all their previous tension vanished in an instant.

As for the students from Capital University and Modu University, the situation was, of course, the complete opposite.

Lin Xinghai, however, paid no mind to the surrounding commotion and instead focused on hunting Mutated Zombies.

As time went on, his control over his own Power grew increasingly proficient.

At this rate, he would be able to fully master his power within two days at most and attempt his own breakthrough.

However, when he thought about how long the breakthrough would take, Lin Xinghai quickly dismissed the idea.

’I’m honestly worried that my first time reshaping my body will take four or five days.’

...

While the outside world was abuzz with discussion, Xu Chengwen, the one who had started all this, returned alone to his private dormitory.

He first checked his surroundings for any surveillance devices. Finding none, he then pulled out a small jammer and switched it on to ensure no one could monitor him.

Once he had done all this, he held his breath and focused. A faint image of a nine-tailed fox appeared on his neck. As the pattern grew clearer, Xu Chengwen’s gaze became entranced.

If anyone could have seen his pupils at that moment, they would have discovered the reflection of a stunningly beautiful woman—one who was both naturally alluring, yet also appeared graceful and dignified.

Yes, this was the Charm King.

"Is everything going smoothly?" A soft, enthralling voice seemed to travel across countless dimensions to reach Xu Chengwen’s ears.

Hearing this voice, Xu Chengwen’s gaze grew even more fanatical. "Rest assured, Lady Charm King, everything is proceeding very smoothly. When the time comes, I will ensure that all the geniuses from Capital University and Modu University who possess a Space Ability gather in the core region."

"It will take some time, though. I just need to give them a small taste of success to entice the others. Then I’ll be able to gather even more people over there. By my final estimate, I can get over fifty people."

"Excellent." A captivating smile spread across the Charm King’s bewitching face. "But you must remember: be subtle when you guide them. Let things unfold naturally so you don’t arouse suspicion."

"With your talent, you should be able to gain real authority in the military and climb to a high position very soon. That is when you will truly play your part."

"Understood, Lady Charm King," Xu Chengwen nodded immediately.

"Good. Continue with the plan. And from now on, you must be even more careful with our communications. Especially once humans have powerhouses at the Rule Realm, they might be able to sense our connection." The Charm King added another warning before breaking contact. The expression on Xu Chengwen’s face instantly returned to normal.

Meanwhile, in the Abyssal Plane, the Charm King couldn’t help but smile.

She looked to her side, at the flickering, ethereal form of the Shadow Demon King. "My plan is halfway to success," she said. "All I need now is a good opportunity, and I can kill fifty human geniuses who possess the Space Ability."

"With that much Merit, even if we fail to kill the Child of Fortune, it will be enough to trade for a Third Class Rule."

The Shadow Demon King at her side opened his eyes and said flatly, "Don’t get careless until the very end. Humans are more tenacious than we anticipated."

"Also, give me a copy of the intel on the remaining humans with the Space Ability. When it’s my turn to act, I’ll see if I can eliminate another batch."

"After all, if these people manage to break through to the Rule Realm and master the Space Rule, they could potentially grow to our level. Whether it’s for Merit or for the sake of the future war, it’s best to nip them in the bud."
