Chapter 100: Chapter 9: Moon Treasure Bottle, Hunter Comes to the Sect

His entire body was enveloped in a black mud-like substance. From the wounds Feng Yin had slashed and sliced open, large clusters of tentacle-like rotting flesh grew. Just a glance was enough to evoke an urge to vomit.

However, despite transforming into a visibly terrifying monster, the Bishop did not charge at Feng Yin. Instead, he immediately turned and raised his hand toward one of the three Monks.

"It’s still not enough... offer up all your souls..."

Amidst his murmurs, rings of Arrays burst from his palm. An inexplicable suction force instantly appeared, violently pulling the Monk to fly toward the Bishop.

This was the very moment Feng Yin had been waiting for!

If he had slaughtered all the mobs before the battle, the Bishop’s second phase would have instantly evolved into its perfect form and launched a fierce assault against him, vastly increasing the difficulty of the fight. On the other hand, leaving too many mobs alive would have caused too much interference during the first phase, raising the risk of getting injured.

Leaving exactly three was perfect. The second-phase Bishop would first consume the three mobs before starting his offensive. And this process took at least five seconds—more than enough time to dump damage onto him!

Secret Technique—Blood Flame!

In an instant, an intense, bloody fiery glow erupted across Feng Yin’s body. With a Soaring Dragon Sky-Piercing Thrust, his sprinting posture, wreathed in Blood Flame, seemed to drag along a roaring fire dragon.

SHLUCK!

The Canfeng Sword pierced into the Bishop’s back and violently erupted through his chest! The blood-colored fiery glow unleashed an explosive Punch, instantly blowing a massive hole right through the Bishop’s chest and back.

"How dare you!" the Sacrificial Moon Bishop roared madly, finishing the absorption of the first Monk. The tentacles growing from his sides lashed out at Feng Yin, while his left palm remained aimed at the next Monk.

"Owl Dance Block!"

Feng Yin twirled the Canfeng Sword into a flurry of sword flowers, deflecting all the tentacle attacks, and immediately followed up with another Secret Sword.

"Azure Dragon Shocking Horn!"

An upward diagonal slash cleaved the already hollowed-out husk into two pieces. The Blood Flame erupted a second time, blowing the Bishop’s severed remains flying in opposite directions.

"I am a kin of the Moon God!"

The Bishop’s Upper Body fell to the ground, yet he still relentlessly absorbed the second Monk. After this absorption was completed, massive amounts of black mud surged from his severed torso, as if trying to Repair his injuries.

But it was too late.

A metal boot slammed down onto the neck of the ruined body. In the next split second, the Canfeng Sword, shrouded in Blood Flame, swung downward and pierced straight through the Sacrificial Moon Bishop’s skull.

BOOM!

Amidst the explosive roar of the Blood Flame, black mist plumed upward, and the Sacrificial Moon Bishop’s corpse sank into the ground as if it had melted.

[Banished ’Impure Sacrificial Moon Bishop’, gained ’50’ units of Spirituality]

Done. As expected, dumping damage easily one-shot the second-phase Sacrificial Moon Bishop. Feng Yin used to do this all the time back when he played the game. Now that the game had undergone Materialization, his damage output was much higher thanks to the extra Swordsmanship enhancements, naturally making it even easier to instantly kill this end-stage boss.

Feng Yin turned his head to look at the last Monk, who was still foolishly condensing a Blood Flame Fireball. He dashed over in a few strides and instantly dispatched him.

Surprisingly, it even dropped an extra Secret Energy Crystal. An unexpected delight.

With this, all the enemies in this level had been completely cleared out.

The White Crow descended from the sky, offering lavish praise. "Unscathed! A Master Level performance!"

It was basically a cheerleading crow. Its emotional support value was maxed out.

Feng Yin ignored the crow and looked directly at an altar beneath the giant Divine Statue. A familiar Spiral Long Blade was planted on top of it, and a bizarre vessel was placed beside the blade. The object looked like an elongated, narrowed crown, radiating an emerald green Light from its center.

This was the Moon Treasure Bottle.

Feng Yin quickly stepped forward, picked up the Moon Treasure Bottle, and effortlessly pulled out the Life Wedge embedded in the altar.

CRACK!

The shattered golden Light of the Life Wedge was absorbed by his Armor. Subsequently, a series of messages popped up before Feng Yin’s eyes.

[Objective completed. Liberation Level increased by ’1%’]

[Valuable Item Rewarded — Moon Treasure Bottle]

[Returning soon]

Endless gray fog covered his vision.

Late at night.

Feng Yin suddenly opened his eyes in bed.

[Successfully returned. You have gained ’106’ units of Spirituality during this journey...]

He sat up and picked up the stick that had fallen onto him. The stick had already struck his body, yet he hadn’t felt a thing. Thoughtful, Feng Yin got out of bed, grabbed his phone, and began playing the recorded footage.

In the video, the initial situation was no different from last time. He fell asleep in just a few minutes, then took over twenty minutes to enter Depth sleep, and his entire person fell into an eerie, stagnant state. Not long after, the rope of the simple contraption he had set up was burned through by the incense, and the stick correspondingly swung down.

Then, Feng Yin’s eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at the scene on the phone screen. At the moment the stick was about to land on his body, it seemed to encounter some invisible barrier. Its Speed rapidly began to slow, and then, in an agonizingly slow process, it gently touched down on him.

He actually wasn’t entirely sure if the stick had genuinely touched his body in the end, because the phone’s resolution wasn’t that high.

"What’s going on here? Is it something like a protective shield??" he wondered.

Feng Yin pondered silently. Right now, there were three confirmable results.

First, after entering Depth sleep and logging into the game, his body entered a bizarre stagnant state.

Second, in this state, he likely possessed the trait of being unnoticeable to others.

Third, in this state, he came equipped with some kind of Defense of unknown mechanisms.

He wondered what Level of external force this Defense could withstand...

In short, it was ultimately a good thing for him. Feng Yin’s expression relaxed slightly, and he permanently deleted the video from his phone. Next, he planned to manually destroy the phone, ensuring that the possibility of recovering the deleted content completely vanished.

Feng Yin packed up and organized everything, then reviewed his gains from this run.

His Liberation Level had risen to sixteen, and his basic Four Dimensions had all increased to sixteen as well. Factoring in the Enhancement from his Armor Engraving, his Four Dimensions would increase by an additional three or six points. His Spirituality had reached "156" points.

An extra column titled "Valuable Items" appeared in his Armor’s status panel, currently displaying the words "Moon Treasure Bottle".

———————

Moon Treasure Bottle (Level: 1/5)

Valuable Item Description: For every Elite or Leader Level enemy killed, obtain ’1-2’ Essence of the Moon. Consuming one Essence of the Moon provides a Recovery of ’Valuable Item Level × 5’ points of Durability or Secret Energy.

Current Reserve of Essence of the Moon: ’1’

Upgrade Requirements: Moonlight Fragment

———————

"Isn’t this just an Elemental Bottle!" he thought, a smile appearing on his face.

Anyone who had played a Soul Travel game knew that reusable Blood Blue Bottles were a mandatory, must-experience feature.

There was nothing much left to do. Although he had over one hundred and fifty points of Spirituality, it wasn’t enough to upgrade his currently available modules. If he wanted to upgrade, he would just have to wait until he cleared the later levels and obtained new items.

The last piece of the highly cost-effective Newbie Three-piece Set, the "Continuous Fire Engraving," would not only vastly increase the ammunition Reserve for his Crossbow Arrows and grant a continuous firing ability, but it would also come with a Crossbow Arrow recovery function once fully leveled up. A single Engraving would solve nearly all the pain points of the Simple Arm Crossbow.

More importantly, if his theory was correct and those special drops had become "guaranteed drops"... then the Elite in the second level of the upcoming third beginner route, "Bloody Camp," would drop a third "Badge"—which meant another Armor Engraving.

This meant his Armor would gain a third form.

The Wolf’s Badge, the Owl’s Badge, and next...

The Martial Badge!

That was a powerful form with rather fascinating mechanics. Most importantly, that Badge seemed capable of entirely resolving his current predicament of being unable to use his Armor out in the open.

Thinking of this, Feng Yin couldn’t help but feel a surge of secret anticipation.

While he was pondering...

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK...

A series of knocks echoed from the door. Feng Yin’s expression sharpened. Who would be knocking on his door this late at night?

He didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he lightened his footsteps, walked over to the door, and looked out through the peephole.

An extremely burly man stood leisurely outside. He was nearly two meters tall, with bulging muscles and a ferocious appearance. Most notably, the clothes he wore were stained with massive amounts of fresh blood.

The next moment, the burly man’s nose twitched. As if sensing something, he shot a chilling smile right at the peephole.

Black fur began to sprout across his face!
