Is Your Armor Legal
Chapter 101 Werewolf
Chapter 101: Chapter 10: Werewolf
Astonished, he watched black fur sprout from the burly man outside the door.
The next moment, Feng Yin’s expression changed drastically, and he rapidly retreated.
BOOM!
The sturdy security door suddenly caved inward from a vicious kick.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
After several strikes, the metal door—designed to keep out ordinary people—finally gave way and burst completely inward.
A massive, imposing silhouette lunged into the room. Looking like a mythical monster, the giant bipedal wolf slung foul-smelling saliva from its jaws. It scanned the room, only to find it completely empty.
Only a wide-open window remained, letting in the scorching night wind.
The werewolf’s nose twitched, and a hoarse, low growl rumbled from its throat. "No prey... can escape... from Gascogne!"
Outside the window, high above the neon-lit city.
Feng Yin calmly and swiftly scaled the apartment building’s exterior wall. As he climbed, he looked a bit speechless.
The moment the burly man transformed into a werewolf, Feng Yin recognized him. It was the same terrifying monster he had encountered deep in the suburban mountains last time.
"I just hunted a few wild boars on his mountain. Is he really holding such a grudge that he chased me all the way into the city?" Feng Yin thought.
He felt this couldn’t possibly be the real reason he was being hunted down. Rather than believing that, it made more sense to deduce that the werewolf had received some sort of order to enter the city and kill. It was just that because of a petty "personal grudge," he had become the creature’s priority target.
As for how the werewolf had tracked him down...
Feng Yin recalled how its nose had been twitching just now. Perhaps by scent? Pondering this without slowing his movements, he quickly reached the roof of the building, as his apartment was already on a high floor.
The instant he vaulted onto the roof, Feng Yin vanished. All that remained was a Light Armor Warrior wearing an owl-shaped helmet and wielding the Canfeng Sword.
He waited quietly, with no intention of fleeing. Since the enemy had found a way to track him to his doorstep once, they would find a way to do it a second time. That would only cause unexpected complications later on. He might as well take this opportunity to finish things here and now.
Of course, the main reason Feng Yin dared to stay was that based on their two previous encounters, the strength the werewolf displayed did not exceed what Feng Yin believed he could handle.
Before long, a terrifying and familiar towering figure leaped over the roof’s edge and appeared before Feng Yin.
Gascogne the werewolf looked at Feng Yin standing with his sword drawn under the night sky. The creature’s nose twitched as a ferocious grin spread across its face.
"Interesting... When did you... change... your armor?
"Did you think... because it’s different from the last set... Gascogne wouldn’t... wouldn’t recognize you?"
Feng Yin remained silent. He simply gripped his sword tightly with both hands and assumed the Forehead Level Stance of the Jiao Swordsmanship.
"He’s not afraid to see me with a weapon. It’s highly likely this guy has the ability to See Through attacks..."
Although Feng Yin really liked the ultra-long attack range of the Dragon Slayer Spear, truth be told, now that his Jiao Swordsmanship and Cyan Dragon Secret Sword Skill had become increasingly profound, his combat prowess with the Canfeng Sword genuinely surpassed what he could achieve with the Dragon Slayer Spear. Therefore, before learning a truly powerful Long Spear Technique, Feng Yin still prioritized his Canfeng Sword form.
Seeing Feng Yin take his stance, Gascogne exhaled foul, hot breath, his eyes brimming with excitement.
"A sword... nothing more. Even firearms... Gascogne isn’t afraid..."
He slowly crouched down, the black fur covering his body standing on end. Man and beast faced off in silence beneath the moonlight and the neon glow of the metropolis. A hot breeze blew past, gently fluttering the werewolf’s black fur and the gray tassel on Feng Yin’s helmet.
Suddenly, sirens echoed from the distant streets, sounding much like the police sirens Feng Yin had heard back on Earth.
Feng Yin recalled the bloodstains on the man’s clothes before his Transformation. Perhaps the creature’s attack on someone else had been discovered and reported.
The werewolf had likely realized this as well. He clearly intended to end the fight quickly!
"GRAAAH!"
With a low, guttural roar, he pushed off the ground and surged forward, instantly turning into an impossibly fast black shadow charging toward Feng Yin.
This monster actually planned to breach Feng Yin’s sword perimeter with its bare flesh!
Feng Yin’s mind remained completely calm as he thrust his sword forward without hesitation.
The werewolf’s face twisted savagely. It swiftly extended a sharp claw, swiping at the Sword Spine of the Canfeng Sword from a masterful angle. Seeing this clearly, Feng Yin flipped both wrists, adjusting the direction of the blade.
But the werewolf seemed to have the gift of foresight. The very instant Feng Yin’s wrists moved, it simultaneously adjusted its claw. A split second later, the claw still accurately slapped the Sword Spine of the Canfeng Sword. It was almost as if the two of them had choreographed the move perfectly.
A massive force was transmitted through the clash. The torque on the werewolf’s claw was short, while the torque on the tip of Feng Yin’s Canfeng Sword was long. Short leverage meant stronger force, while long meant weaker force. Coupled with the fact that the werewolf’s physique seemed even stronger than Ya Lie’s, the result was that Feng Yin’s Canfeng Sword was completely swatted away.
And the werewolf’s other claw was already plunging viciously toward Feng Yin’s heart!
"Die!"
Just like his fight with Ya Lie, Feng Yin was nearly defeated right at the start.
"This werewolf really does have the ability to See Through attacks!" Feng Yin thought.
However, he had already brazenly activated Stealing Step, instantly retreating backward without warning. The sharp claw closed on thin air.
"Grrr?"
This Supernatural Positional Skill happened without the slightest sign, causing the werewolf’s vicious expression to freeze in momentary shock.
The next instant, Feng Yin counterattacked. The Canfeng Sword in his hands cleaved through the air, creating a blindingly fast blur of sword shadows. This time, his movements became wide and sweeping. He had no intention of engaging in close-quarters parrying with the werewolf anymore.
In the Shadow beneath his helmet, a wild grin surfaced on Feng Yin’s face.
"Even a werewolf is just flesh and blood," Feng Yin thought. "Ya Lie couldn’t take me head-on even when wearing armor and wielding a Katana. Even if you’re fiercer than him, can you really block a blade with your bare flesh?
"Bring it on!"
Feng Yin’s sword strikes were heavy and urgent. Even knowing that the telegraphing of his movements would be Seen Through by the werewolf, he didn’t pause for a single moment.
