Is Your Armor Legal
Chapter 63 Commission, Vigilance
Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Commission, Vigilance
When arriving on the island, Feng Yin and his group, possessing the most esteemed status, immediately boarded the armored vehicles once they were in position. Due to the limited space inside the vehicles, they couldn’t even bring their attendants.
Although Shen Jia’s family of three was also distinguished, they clearly weren’t on the same level as the Xuan Guang Group. They had no choice but to wait for the vehicles behind them alongside the other dignitaries.
Faced with Xiao Yu’s question, Simon didn’t answer right away. Instead, he beckoned an assistant over. "Go find the guests from the Shen Group. If they’re present, bring them over as well."
The assistant nodded and departed.
Simon looked at Xiao Yu. "Ms. Chen Yu, are you planning to take the three members of the Shen Group with you?"
Xiao Yu nodded, treating it as a given. "Of course. Shen Jia is a close friend of mine. It’s too dangerous here. The helicopter has enough seats, right?"
Simon nodded calmly. "The Medium helicopter can comfortably seat over twenty people."
While they were speaking, the assistant hurried back. "Mr. Simon, I didn’t see the three esteemed guests from the Shen Group."
Xiao Yu’s expression changed. She immediately pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
After a long while, the call connected. Shen Jia’s faint voice came through, "Shh... Xiao Yu, keep your voice down..."
Xiao Yu immediately lowered her voice. "Where are you?"
Shen Jia’s voice was barely a whisper. "Floor Seven... Room Four Zero Two... It should be an office. There are strange people outside... Xiao Yu, I’m so scared..."
Xiao Yu’s expression turned stern. "Wait there. Don’t hang up. I’ll arrange for someone to rescue you right away."
"Okay," Shen Jia replied.
Xiao Yu looked up at Simon. "Mr. Simon, I need some of your guards to rescue my friend."
Simon’s expression also grew solemn. "Alright, I’ll dispatch an elite squad right away."
Xiao Yu then thought of the mysterious monster that could drag down an entire elevator. She quickly looked at Xie Jingyuan. "Master... that monster under the elevator might still be in this building. I feel like it’s a bit unsafe. Could you lend a hand this one time?"
Xie Jingyuan slowly shook his head. "Your safety is the highest priority on this trip. Danger lurks everywhere right now, and I cannot leave your side."
"Alright..." Xiao Yu scratched her head helplessly. She wouldn’t force her master’s hand.
Nearby, Simon’s eyes lit up.
The escape of the crucial Subject E001 was a blunder even more severe than the theft of their data. Between letting it escape and turning it into a corpse, the latter was naturally the preferable option. However, that creature was covered in mutated scales, possessing boundless strength and astonishing defense. Even Instant Level Combat Experts armed with firearms would find it difficult to take him down.
If they could actually use Xie Jingyuan to kill or even capture it, that would naturally be excellent.
At this thought, Simon immediately chimed in earnestly, "Mr. Xie, if possible, the Zero Point Consortium would also like to commission you to help capture or kill that creature. There will certainly be a heavy reward afterward."
Xie Jingyuan gave him an indifferent glance. "My partnership lies with Xuan Guang. I don’t need the Zero Point Consortium’s reward. Protecting Chen Yu is my highest priority."
Simon quickly said, "Mr. Xie, with Ms. Chen Yu here, surrounded by so many elite guards and my bodyguard Felt, nothing will possibly go wrong.
"Your Martial prowess is unmatched; it won’t take you long to resolve this matter."
Xie Jingyuan merely shook his head.
Helpless, Simon had no choice but to drop the matter. He began organizing a team to rescue Shen Jia. However, he clearly hadn’t given up. After organizing the rescue, he immediately stepped aside and dialed the direct line to headquarters’ top brass.
A few minutes later, Xie Jingyuan’s phone rang. He pulled it out and glanced at the screen. It was Chen Jingzhong—Xiao Yu’s father and the helmsman of the Xuan Guang Group.
His eyes flickered slightly. Seeming to guess what this was about, he sighed and answered the call. "Hello, Jingzhong. What is it?"
A steady male voice came from the other end. "Brother Jing Yuan, I just received an urgent call from the top brass at the Zero Point Consortium. They want to commission you to handle a major problem—killing a special experimental subject."
Xie Jingyuan furrowed his brows. "Jingzhong, do you realize I am currently protecting your daughter?"
Chen Jingzhong paused. "Brother Jing Yuan, I’ve already been briefed on the situation. The environment Xiao Yu is in right now is relatively safe. Could you spare a little time to deal with this? The Zero Point Consortium has expressed their willingness to, in our upcoming cooperation..."
Chen Jingzhong muttered a few words in a low voice.
Xie Jingyuan’s expression shifted slightly. He gave a soft hum of agreement and hung up the phone.
Beside him, Xiao Yu had been pricking her ears up to eavesdrop. Seeing Xie Jingyuan hang up, she excitedly grabbed his arm. "Master, are you willing to step in and save Shen Jia?"
Xie Jingyuan gave her a helpless look. "Xiao Yu, you’ve simply been sheltered for too long. You don’t know how dangerous this world really is. Stay here and behave. Make sure you don’t wander off."
Xiao Yu chuckled. "Don’t worry, Master. I just enjoy the thrill; I’m not actually looking to die. I won’t go anywhere until you get back."
Xie Jingyuan patted her head and turned toward Simon, who seemed to have already anticipated this outcome.
He said flatly, "Give me the data on that experimental subject."
Simon smiled faintly and immediately handed over a tablet. "Mr. Xie, the footage and combat data are all in here. We’ve also implanted a tracking chip in his body, so you can pinpoint his location using this tablet."
Xie Jingyuan took the tablet. Skimming through it, he said briskly, "Prepare two large-caliber handguns for me, along with Protective Gear."
Simon gave a crisp nod. "They are already prepared." He paused before adding, "I personally possess a set of authorized, military-grade exoskeletons. Do you have any need for them, Mr. Xie?"
Xie Jingyuan gave him a detached glance and shook his head. "Inflexible equipment will only interfere with my movements."
Simon smiled. "As expected of a Combat Master. You truly have no need for such external aids."
Xie Jingyuan took the dual handguns and tucked them into his waistband. "Not entirely. I’m still quite willing to use convenient weapons like guns that don’t hinder my physical agility."
Two minutes later, having donned his Protective Gear, Xie Jingyuan returned to the group.
He looked at Xiao Yu, Feng Yin, Xie Yanran, Hong Yuan, and the rest, saying in a deep voice, "You lot stay here and wait for me. Prioritize the protection of Xiao Yu and your own safety. I will be back soon."
The group nodded earnestly.
Xie Jingyuan said no more. Tablet in hand, he turned and left the floor.
Feng Yin watched him leave, then glanced back at Xiao Yu and Xie Yanran. "What do we do now?" he asked softly.
Xiao Yu tilted her chin toward Simon. "We don’t need to worry about it. Mr. Simon will make the arrangements."
Just as she spoke, Simon happened to walk over with a smile. "Then how about you wait in my office, Ms. Chen Yu? With Felt’s Protection, as long as it isn’t a direct assault by a Combat Master like Mr. Xie, everything will be perfectly secure."
Beside him, Felt also nodded gently at the group.
"Then we’ll be troubling you two," Xiao Yu smiled faintly. She led Feng Yin and the others to follow in Simon’s footsteps.
Just as the group entered the office, three masked elite guards among the rear guard detail withdrew their gazes. They exchanged a glance, their eyes flickering.
Inside the office, the goosebumps on Feng Yin’s skin slowly subsided as the sensation of being watched vanished along with them.
