Island Survival: I Build a Moving Castle at Sea
Chapter 137: Taking the Clansmen to Stone Island
Chapter 137: Chapter 137: Taking the Clansmen to Stone Island
Letting them into her space and onto the island would be like letting a tiger back into the mountains.
After hanging up the video call, Shi Zhile sent a message in the group chat.
"@Wei Zhan, @Jiang Jing, have all our people return to the Huaxia Tribe. The alert has been sent. Whether you believe it is your business. Any players in the group just looking to take advantage of the situation can leave the tribe now."
It took her another two hours to return to the tribe.
The tribe was now crowded with people; the members had heeded Shi Zhile’s warning and all returned.
Most of the other players had also gathered outside the tribe, discussing the content of the survival prompt.
Seeing Shi Zhile return, the crowd started talking all at once.
"Is the survival prompt real?"
"Where did you find this prompt? Do you know the exact time the tsunami and sky fire will arrive?"
"As players, we have no way of leaving the island. If a tsunami is really coming, is there any way out?"
Shi Zhile called for quiet, but the clamor continued, her words having no effect.
Her expression immediately turned cold, and the little patience she had completely disappeared.
"All of you, shut up! Keep yelling if you want to die. I can make sure you don’t even live to see the disaster."
Though she had washed the blood from her face, her clothes were still covered in it. When they met her cold, indifferent gaze, the minds of some timid players began to run wild.
’She must have killed all the players who crossed her. Why else would she be covered in so much blood?’
"The Huaxia Tribe was established to bring all players together. The point was to consult with each other and help more people survive.
I don’t know when the tsunami and sky fire from the prompt will arrive, but whichever comes first will be enough to wipe us all out.
There’s no trust among us, so whether you survive will depend on your own skills. I’ll repeat what I’ve always said: no fighting or brawling is allowed within the tribe."
There were too many players, making them difficult to manage. Plus, she herself didn’t trust anyone. So she decided that, aside from her own people, she would use a knockout drug to incapacitate everyone before the disaster and take them to Stone Island.
Over the next two days, she needed to urgently build a stone house on Stone Island. When the time came, she would lock them all inside and keep a drugged incense burning every day until the disaster was over.
She brought Mo Ze and Mo Ya back to the cave and told them, "The Sea God said a world-ending disaster is coming to the island. When it happens, every living creature on the island might die.
I want to take you away from here. Are you willing to come?"
The two of them nodded in unison, without the slightest hesitation.
As they were characters from within this instance, she wasn’t sure if she could bring them to Stone Island.
With no one else around, it was the perfect time for an experiment.
She opened the Teleportation Gate, took one of them by each hand, and stepped through with them.
The scene before them changed in an instant. The two people she was holding onto were now also standing on Stone Island.
Mo Ze and Mo Ya took up defensive stances, surveying their surroundings.
Shi Zhile took a watermelon from her space, cut it open, and shared it with the two of them.
"Don’t be nervous. This is my island. The reason I brought you here was to see if I could bring you over."
It was past 4 PM, but the sun was still scorching. Especially during the extreme heat, the temperature was frighteningly high.
She opened the door to her shelter, and a wave of heat washed over them. As far as the eye could see, all the plants were withered and dry.
"This place is also experiencing a natural disaster—a drought with extreme heat. The temperature makes it feel like a steamer. Your home is about to face a disaster, but the disaster has already arrived here.
My living quarters are very small. If you want to come here, you’ll need to build your own houses on the island.
There’s also no food on the island. You’ll only get food if you work for me. I’ll leave the choice to you."
’The island could be developed, it needed to be patrolled and planned out, the crops needed tending, the chicken and duck eggs needed to be collected—everywhere you looked, there was work to be done.’
’Compared to the scheming players, the obedient primitives were much easier to control.’
’But there were too many primitives. In the early stages after moving, they would need to solve half of their own food and housing problems.’
’The primitives were tall and strong. If they failed to reach an agreement for some reason and rioted, they could easily destroy her island.’
Hearing Shi Zhile’s words, Mo Ze stepped out of the gate.
The sunlight beat down on him, making his dark skin glisten.
"It’s not that hot! But having no food is indeed a problem. Master Witch, I need to go back and discuss this with my tribesmen."
Shi Zhile agreed and took the two of them back to the Primitive Forest again.
The three of them appeared in the cave out of thin air, startling the others.
There were nine people in the cave in total: Shi Zhiyi’s group of four, Jiang Yuxing, Jiang Jing, Jiang Yu, Wei Zhan, and Wang Peng.
With the addition of the three of them, the cave instantly became crowded.
Mo Ze and Mo Ya left quickly to discuss moving with the other tribe members.
Wei Zhan was the first to speak: "Is Elder Wen doing okay in the Planting Space?"
Shi Zhile replied, "He’s still researching seeds and is currently recording the growth of the wheat transplanted from the Primitive Forest."
Confirming that Mr. Wen was safe, Wei Zhan breathed a sigh of relief.
Jiang Jing spoke up. "We were just discussing the players’ chances of survival after the disaster arrives. If it’s just the sky fire starting from one side, the players can still hide.
But if a tsunami comes, there’s nowhere to hide, and the players’ survival rate will be zero."
Thinking of the malice other players held toward Shi Zhile, Shi Zhiyi sneered.
"So what if the survival rate is zero? You don’t have to deliberately mention there’s nowhere to hide. You might as well just come out and say you’re after Lele’s Planting Space.
I refuse to believe you don’t know what those people have been saying about Lele in the chat group. The story of the farmer and the snake happens all the time. If she saves them and exposes the space, they’ll be the very ones to strike the most viciously the second she’s vulnerable."
Shi Zhile couldn’t agree more, taking out a fish and nonchalantly starting to roast it.
Jiang Jing and Wei Zhan were from the base. They were soldiers, and the duty to serve the people was ingrained in their very being. It was truly difficult for them to accept watching so many people die before their very eyes.
But Shi Zhile was no saint. She wouldn’t do something that was both unprofitable and detrimental to herself.
Wang Peng looked at Jiang Yuxing. Seeing that he wasn’t speaking, he scratched his head anxiously.
Shi Zhile said lightly, "Brother Peng, if you have something to say, just say it. There aren’t any words written on Jiang Yuxing’s face."
Wang Peng gave an awkward laugh. "I just think it’s not right to just stand by and watch so many people die."
Shi Zhile lowered her gaze. "How is it not right? Back when we were in the instance, we were killing people as easily as chopping watermelons, one after another. I don’t remember you saying it wasn’t right back then."
’Despite her words, Shi Zhile was fairly certain she knew what Jiang Yuxing was really thinking.’
’He wanted her to save them!’
’Though she didn’t know why.’
Wang Peng said urgently, "How is that the same? Back then..."
Jiang Yuxing cut him off, picking up the conversation in a leisurely tone. "Back then, we were surrounded. If we didn’t kill, we would have died. The circumstances were different, so naturally, the actions were different."
"So you want me to save them?"
Jiang Yuxing smiled but said nothing.
Shi Zhile fell silent for a moment, then slowly extended her hand. "Potent knockout drugs."
As if he had been prepared all along, Jiang Yuxing handed over a chest.
