The girl glanced furtively toward the hallway entrance while wiping a bead of sweat from her temple, her voice anxious. "Ah, I’ll explain later. Just help me out first!"

’My sister’s still waiting for me outside right now. She might already be on her way over!’

As her best friend, Si Yingying couldn’t just leave her hanging.

"Oh, okay, I get it. I’m heading back right now!"

The sisters walked up the stairs to the third floor and headed toward Si Yingying’s room. Seeing the closed door, the girl reached out and knocked gently.

Yan Li glanced around and felt it was satisfactory. Only then did she turn to Yan Xici behind her. "Which one is your bed?"

Yan Li frowned. "Is this what you read in your free time?"

’I’m paying for her university education, not to cultivate this romance-obsessed brain of hers!’

Yan Xici shot a stunned look at Si Yingying, who was standing beside her. Her eyes seemed to say, ’Seriously? Why didn’t you put a book like this away!’

Si Yingying’s eyes went wide as she looked back at her. ’How was I supposed to know your sister was coming?’

But for the sake of their friendship, the loyal girl stepped forward. Wearing a docile smile, she looked at Yan Li and said, "Sis, that book is mine..."

Hearing this, Yan Li’s expression softened, and she placed the book back on the desk.

She gave her sister a meaningful look. "Your task right now is to find a good job, understand?"

The girl lowered her head, looking incredibly obedient.

Yan Li said coolly, "Alright, it’s getting late. I’m going to head back."
