Chapter 130: The Power of a Nascent Soul’s Self-Destruction
Chapter 130: Chapter 130: The Power of a Nascent Soul’s Self-Destruction
"Little Monk, I’ve finally found you."
The group hadn’t even arrived, but their furious voices preceded them.
There were eight of them in total. Though they varied in height and build, they all had one thing in common: the murderous, hate-filled look in their eyes as they stared at Hui Ke.
"What’s the situation here? Did you kill their parents? Or did you rape their wives?"
"Benefactor, please watch your words. I do not dally with women. Besides, how old do you think I am?"
After speaking, Hui Ke turned around, held his long staff vertically in his arms, and put his palms together.
The eight men drew near and immediately surrounded both Hui Ke and Chu Fan.
"Kid, who are you? This is between us and the Little Monk. If you don’t want to die, back off," one of them, a man with a thick beard, first snapped at Chu Fan.
"Second Brother, since this kid is with the Little Monk, they must be together. Might as well get rid of them both," a sinister-looking man next to the bearded one said without reservation.
"Amitabha. I once spared your lives out of respect for the heavens’ virtue of cherishing life, hoping you would see the error of your ways and turn back from your misguided path. It seems today that you are all still hopelessly lost."
Hui Ke’s gaze swept over them, his right hand gripping the wooden staff in his arms.
"Benefactor, it seems I’ve dragged you into this. Why don’t you stand aside and watch? Allow me to first send them before the Buddha to atone and repent for their sins."
Chu Fan looked at him, a little surprised. ’Is this Little Monk really from a Buddhist Sect? How is his killing intent even stronger than mine?’
"Little Monk, you’re not big but you’ve got a big mouth. I’ll send you both to Paradise together!" the bearded man said angrily.
Chu Fan sighed and said to the bearded man, "This really has nothing to do with me. Are you really going to kill me too?"
"Kid, if you’re scared, just stand there and don’t move. I’ll give you a quick end, I guarantee you’ll see the Buddha before you even feel the pain." The one who spoke was a somewhat paunchy, middle-aged man.
Chu Fan truly hadn’t intended to get involved in their stupid business. The two groups were ready to kill on sight, and the Little Monk’s killing intent was so strong. It was obvious this group held a great grudge against him; perhaps the Little Monk had killed one of their own before.
He didn’t know the reason for their conflict, and he wasn’t that close with the Little Monk, so of course he wouldn’t just kill people without reason.
But just because he was with Hui Ke, this group insisted on killing him too. Did they think he, Chu Fan, was a pushover? Or that he, Chu Fan, had never killed anyone before?
"You see, I can’t leave even if I want to now. Your Buddhist Family talks about Cause and Effect. If I really kill them, will I incur Karmic Obstacles?" Chu Fan asked Hui Ke in a low voice.
"Benefactor, Demon Extermination to protect the righteous path is the undeniable duty of us cultivators. These men have committed countless evil deeds in the Western Domain, their hands are already stained with blood. Benefactor, you may kill them without hesitation. If any Karmic Obstacles arise, I will bear them alone."
"Alright then. I’ll take the four on the left. You handle the four on the right," Chu Fan said.
"Many thanks for your assistance, Benefactor."
"What are you two muttering about? Are you ready to die?" the bearded man roared.
’Villains always die because they talk too much. That’s truly an unbreakable truth.’ Did this bearded man think the eight of them could crush the two of them at will?
"Amitabha. My Buddha is fundamentally compassionate. Today, as I slay these wicked men, I too act with a compassionate heart. Buddha be my witness." With that, Hui Ke struck with his staff, smashing it down on the bearded leader.
"Kill!" The bearded man didn’t dodge. With a great shout, he met the attack with the saber in his hand.
To be honest, if these eight men hadn’t run into Hui Ke and Chu Fan, or even just one of them, they were indeed very strong.
After all, among the eight of them, two were at Nascent Soul Realm Tier Seven, one was at Tier Six, three at Tier Five, and two at Tier Four.
To put it a bit dramatically, with their combined strength, the eight of them could have wiped out one of the smaller nations in the Eastern Domain.
Perhaps that was why they were so full of confidence.
Even without using the Divine Techniques of the Juntian Mirror, and even if he were only at Nascent Soul Realm Tier One, Chu Fan was an invincible existence within his Realm. What’s more, he was now at Nascent Soul Realm Tier Six.
Saying he would take four, Chu Fan wasn’t being greedy in the slightest. With a flick of his wrist, his Juntian Sword brandished a Sword Technique, instantly separating the four men on the right.
Seeing that Chu Fan actually dared to take on four of them at once, the men were both excited and furious, and immediately launched a simultaneous attack on him.
"Strumming Sword and Singing, Riding Horses and Testing Swords!"
As Chu Fan unleashed this Sword technique, he even called out its name.
That’s right, this was the First Technique of the Yifeng Sword Technique. The moment he struck, he was merciless, but he did not deal a killing blow.
The four men were stunned for a moment as they watched Chu Fan execute this Sword technique. One of them even burst out laughing.
"I knew I couldn’t see through this kid’s Cultivation. Wielding a crappy sword like that, turns out he’s just a newbie."
Because his Sword Dao had entered the Third Heaven, Chu Fan’s execution of the Yifeng Sword Technique was much more restrained. Forget Sword Qi; even as his Long Sword moved, it didn’t cause the slightest ripple in the air.
None of the four noticed that their own extremely fierce killing moves couldn’t get anywhere near Chu Fan.
Whether it was their Sword Qi or their Saber Aura, it was all dissipated without a trace before it could even approach him.
The moment his words fell, they were replaced by a blood-curdling scream.
Besides him, the other three also cried out in pain.
Then, all four of them fell from mid-air. Each one had at least three sword wounds on his body, and they lay in pools of blood, completely unable to move.
The reason Chu Fan’s attack was so effective was not that the Sword technique was ridiculously overpowered, but that the four men had never seen such a bizarre and unpredictable Sword Technique before. They were careless from the start, and that was why they fell for it.
On the other side, Hui Ke, facing his four opponents, had only managed to severely injure the sinister-looking man.
However, when the other three heard the screams from Chu Fan’s side, expressions of terror appeared on their faces.
But in a battle between experts, how could a moment’s carelessness be afforded?
In that brief moment of distraction, the bearded man was struck on the head by Hui Ke’s staff. Instantly, his entire skull burst open.
"You... you... FUCK YOUR ANCESTORS!" The remaining two men, their eyes red with hatred, were about to self-detonate.
This was the first time Chu Fan had ever encountered such a thing, so he had no idea what was happening.
He only saw Hui Ke suddenly rush toward him and grab his arm.
"Run!"
Before Chu Fan could even react, he was pulled along, stumbling.
"Dammit, it’s too late!"
As soon as Hui Ke’s voice fell, two earth-shattering explosions erupted behind them.
The immense energy flattened everything within a radius of dozens of zhang. Chu Fan and Hui Ke, not having gotten far enough away, ultimately failed to escape.
The two of them were sent flying several hundred zhang. Their clothes were torn to shreds, and their backs were a mess of torn flesh and blood.
They lost consciousness mid-flight and finally crashed to the ground, dead to the world.
Chu Fan would never have imagined he would be so grievously injured in this way.
However, what he didn’t know was that the earth-shattering sound from before had been heard by almost everyone in the Secret Realm, and they were all now rushing in this direction.
In less than a quarter of an hour, Prince Fuling arrived with his men and immediately spotted Chu Fan lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
"This kid... I was planning on finding some trouble for him in the future. He couldn’t have just died like this, could he? What the hell happened here?" Long Haixin muttered to himself.
Then, one of his Guards walked up to Chu Fan and checked his pulse, discovering that although it was faint, it was still there.
"Prince, he’s not dead yet!"
"Oh?" A wicked smile spread across Long Haixin’s face upon hearing this.
