Chapter 224: Chapter 224: No Need to Play the Pig to Eat the Tiger

’I was hoping to ditch this moody woman sooner rather than later, but I guess I can’t escape after all.’

’He wanted to slap himself. Why did he have to run his mouth and ask all those questions?’

’With this woman around, what freedom could he possibly have?’

’Not only did he have no freedom, but he even had to accompany her to investigate the God Slaughter Hall.’

Having such a peerless beauty by their side would probably make any other man ecstatic, wanting to get as close as possible for as long as possible.

But Chu Fan didn’t see it that way, because when this woman fought, she showed no mercy.

He had to be careful with every word he said to her.

Besides, she never smiled; her face was as cold as ice all day long.

Although the two of them were walking along a winding mountain path, they chatted as they went and soon emerged from the mountain range.

Chu Fan’s injuries had not yet fully healed, but Leng Yingxue was no longer suppressing his bloodline.

Naturally, their pace wasn’t slow.

The White Fox in Chu Fan’s arms had long since fallen asleep.

"So what’s the deal with those four old-timers?" After a long, silent pause, Chu Fan asked, just to have something to say.

"My Master once saved their lives. Before he passed, he performed a divination for me and foresaw that I was fated to face this tribulation. That’s why they rushed to Piaoxue Palace at the critical moment."

"Those four old-timers are all in the Saint Realm, right? Then what was your Master’s Cultivation level?"

"Stronger than them. As for his exact Cultivation, I don’t actually know. Not only do I not know, but even the Supreme Elders of Piaoxue Palace are unaware."

"Multiple Supreme Elders?"

"Five!"

Chu Fan was simply surprised that Piaoxue Palace had several Supreme Elders, but Leng Yingxue had interpreted his question as asking for the total number, hence her reply.

But upon hearing there were five, Chu Fan was even more stunned.

"If they’re all in the Saint Realm, doesn’t that make your Piaoxue Palace a top-tier Sect?"

"They’re only Half-Saints."

’That explains it,’ he thought. ’If God Slaughter Hall could succeed even against five cultivators in the Saint Realm, they would be absurdly powerful.’

"Are you planning to walk all the way to Laojun Mountain?" Leng Yingxue asked suddenly.

"You want to fly there instead?"

"We’ll enter every city we pass. I’ve been slumbering for ten years; let’s see what has changed in that time," Leng Yingxue declared.

Immediately, the two of them took to the air.

Chu Fan had to fly with all his might, while Leng Yingxue floated as gracefully as a Fairy, seemingly without any effort at all.

In less than four hours, they arrived at a county town.

Before they could even enter the town, they were stopped by a group of people.

The leader of the group held up a portrait, compared it to them, and shouted, "It’s them."

Both Chu Fan and Leng Yingxue were quite surprised.

"What’s going on?" Chu Fan asked, confused.

He had a strong suspicion, however, that this had something to do with that Second Miss Qiao.

The people opposite them were sizing up Chu Fan. One of the women chuckled and said, "These two clearly don’t have a shred of Cultivation. How could Qiao Siwen claim that four Divine Separation Realm experts died at Chu Fan’s hands?"

"Are you Chu Fan?" one of the men, dressed in a black long robe, asked Chu Fan with an arrogant air.

Chu Fan was taken aback. ’How do they know my name?’

But a man of honor doesn’t hide his name. Though confused, he wouldn’t deny it.

"That’s right. I am Chu Fan."

"You’re from the barbarian lands of the Eastern Domain?" the young man asked again.

"I am indeed from the Eastern Domain. As for whether it’s a land of Barbarians, your opinion doesn’t count."

"Since you’re Chu Fan from the Eastern Domain, we’ve found the right person. You’ve offended Princess Huaining, and she has a warrant out for you all over the world. We’re not interested in your life, though. If you hand over the White Fox in your arms, we’ll let you go," the man said.

"Offended Princess Huaining? I don’t even know who Princess Huaining is, so how could I have possibly offended her?"

"That White Fox in your arms is how."

"Young Master, why waste so much time talking to him? Let’s just take it," the young woman beside the man said bluntly.

"Exactly! If he dares refuse, we’ll kill the man and send the woman to a brothel. We could even make a nice profit. Judging by that woman’s figure, she should fetch a good price."

Leng Yingxue’s eyes now glinted with killing intent, but she didn’t seem to plan on making a move.

Chu Fan, however, wanted to understand the full story. It all started when the third young master of the Song Family tried to use the White Fox to curry favor with the Second Miss Qiao. After she fled, Chu Fan knew he’d be wrapped up in endless trouble.

Now it seemed that the Second Miss Qiao was connected to Princess Huaining.

But these people wanted to snatch the White Fox without harming him, which meant they had nothing to do with this Princess Huaining.

Their entire motivation, then, was the White Fox.

While Chu Fan was lost in thought, another man in a green long robe turned to the one who had spoken earlier and jeered, "Young Master Liu, don’t tell me you’ve taken a fancy to the woman yourself? ’Sell her to a brothel’? I bet you’d just turn around and take her home to enjoy for yourself."

Chu Fan was naturally displeased by the arrogance and insolence of these young masters from the Noble Families, but for now, he didn’t intend to act.

He said coolly, "It’s not entirely out of the question that you can have this White Fox. But first, tell me the truth. Why is everyone fighting over it?"

The group exchanged glances, seeing the same confusion in each other’s eyes.

They were probably all thinking the same thing: ’News of this has spread across half the Hua Xu Empire, how could this person not know?’

The woman in the group, who wasn’t much to look at but was incredibly haughty, said, "Why should we tell you? I’ll count to three. If you don’t hand over the White Fox by then, we won’t be so polite."

Chu Fan couldn’t help but sneer inwardly. ’Are they always this self-righteous when they’re robbing someone?’

’Not so polite? What could they possibly do? The woman next to me is in the Saint Realm. She was number one on the Human List back when she was in the Half-Saint Realm. In the Central Domain, can’t we do whatever we want?’

Chu Fan couldn’t even be bothered to play the part of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He had no patience to waste another breath on these spoiled, ignorant young fops who had grown up coddled.

"Three!"

Holding the White Fox in one arm, Chu Fan struck out with his other hand.

Before anyone besides Leng Yingxue could even react, two crisp sounds rang out. SLAP! SLAP!

The faces of the two men—the one who had suggested selling Leng Yingxue to a brothel and the other who’d jeered about taking her home—instantly swelled up like pig heads.

"Aren’t you done counting? Or do you all want to attack together?" Chu Fan asked with a cold smile, already back in his original spot.

The woman stared at Chu Fan in horror, her mouth moving but no sound daring to escape.

"How dare you!"

The two Divine Separation Realm Elders standing behind the young masters immediately lunged at Chu Fan.

They had seen Chu Fan attack but hadn’t been fast enough to stop him. At the same time, however, they had gauged his Cultivation.

As the two elders flew forward, they drew their blades.

The young masters scrambled to retreat, while the two who had been slapped clutched their faces and roared, "Cripple him for me!"

These two elders were both at the Divine Separation Realm Middle Stage, quite a bit higher than Chu Fan. Thus, Chu Fan didn’t dare be careless and immediately drew his Juntian Sword.

He instantly unleashed a move: Windless Flying Dragon in the Sky.

The Long Sword swept upward. As he brandished the Juntian Sword, its light formed a ferocious flying dragon that lunged forward, intercepting the two elders...
