Chapter 340: The Plan’s Perfect Beginning

  • Next Chapter

Jisierk completely ignored Moqish’s humiliated and furious shouts, pointed at Chu Fan, and said, “You, get over here!”

Chu Fan looked at Li Haiqin.

Li Haiqin said angrily to Jisierk, “Jisierk, he is my Guard. What do you think you’re doing?”

Jisierk’s face flushed with anger. “You want to protect him?” he asked.

“He is my Guard, which means he is one of my people. No one is to make things difficult for him,” Li Haiqin declared.

Jisierk nodded, then turned his gaze to Moqish. “Moqish, let’s not beat around the bush. Her name is Li Haiqin, and she is my fiancée. The Khan King himself approved our engagement just over an hour ago. Mo Sang offended my fiancée. Tell me, didn’t he deserve to be beaten?”

“So she’s the pearl of the Lindi Clan, Li Haiqin?” Moqish’s eyes lit up, his gaze raking over Li Haiqin without the slightest attempt to be discreet.

Seeing the look in Moqish’s eyes, Jisierk roared, “Moqish, I’ll say it again: she is my fiancée.”

“Let’s make a deal, Jisierk. I’ll give you one hundred thousand horses and a thousand Wind Chasing Beasts. You give Li Haiqin to me. How about it?”

“Moqish, are you trying to provoke me?” Jisierk snarled.

Moqish burst out laughing. “If that’s not enough, which of my consorts has caught your eye? Just say the word, and I’ll have her sent to your bed tonight.”

Even Chu Fan was taken aback by Moqish’s unbelievably shameless words.

Jisierk didn’t want to waste another second on him. He turned to Li Haiqin and said, “Come with me!”

Li Haiqin glanced at Chu Fan. Seeing him nod, she was about to speak when Moqish sneered, “You’ve offended me, and you think you can just walk away? Do you think I have no dignity to uphold?”

“Are you declaring war?” Jisierk asked, enunciating each word.

The moment he spoke, the Guards he’d brought with him drew their blades in unison.

Moqish shook his head. “Jisierk, we are both of the Golden Clan’s Direct Lineage. I won’t make things difficult for you. You have two choices. First, you give Li Haiqin to me. Not only will I let this whole incident slide, but I’ll also honor the offer I made earlier, and you’ll even gain my friendship. Second, you leave her Guard’s life behind, have Li Haiqin apologize to me, and compensate me with one hundred thousand warhorses and a thousand Wind Chasing Beasts. Then, we can consider this matter settled!”

“Hah!” Jisierk gave a cold laugh. “I’ll give you two choices as well. Either you get out of our way and let me leave with Li Haiqin—you can do whatever you want with this Guard—or we go to war. And if anyone dies, don’t go crying to the Khan King.”

Moqish’s eyes instantly grew colder. He waved his hand and ordered, “Spare Li Haiqin and Jisierk. Kill everyone else.”

“Yes, sir!”

The Guards of the two Princes truly began to fight, their blades and spears clashing with lethal intent.

Jisierk and Moqish glared at each other, their gazes dripping with provocation.

Chu Fan pulled Li Haiqin to the side, shielding her from the fray.

Li Haiqin tugged worriedly at the corner of Chu Fan’s sleeve. “Is this really going to be all right?”

“Don’t worry, Princess. I will protect you with my life. I won’t let them harm a single hair on your head,” Chu Fan said.

The Guards on both sides were all in the Divine Separation Realm. What surprised Chu Fan wasn’t their Combat Power, but the sturdiness of the Tayun Building itself.

Back in the Eastern Domain, a building would have been instantly demolished by the overflowing True Qi from a fight between just two Divine Separation Realm experts, let alone a melee involving so many.

But this stone building was completely unharmed; only the tables and chairs inside had been shattered by the True Qi.

With Chu Fan shielding Li Haiqin, the stray waves of True Qi couldn’t touch her at all.

As the two sides fought, Moqish shot a meaningful glance at one of his Guards. In a flash, that Guard broke away and charged toward Chu Fan and Li Haiqin.

Chu Fan smirked to himself.

‘Divine Separation Realm Tier Nine?’

‘Still just an ant!’

Chu Fan didn’t even need to draw his Sword. He simply kicked out. The man was sent flying backward, slamming into the wall. Blood trickled from his mouth as he breathed his last.

If anyone were to examine the body, they would discover that all of his internal organs had been pulverized, and even his meridians were shattered.

Only the man who had been kicked could have known the terrifying power contained in Chu Fan’s seemingly casual blow.

At that moment, Li Haiqin finally realized something was wrong.

“What’s your Realm?”

“Integration,” Chu Fan said.

“Didn’t you say you were in the Nascent Soul Realm?” Li Haiqin’s gaze grew more calculating.

“I only said that because we were in public. As a Martial Artist, you must always keep an ace up your sleeve. You can’t show all your cards,” Chu Fan offered as a flimsy explanation.

Apparently, however, Li Haiqin believed him.

“No wonder you were bold enough to come out with me while I acted so… brazenly!”

“Princess, my abilities don’t end here. I told you I wouldn’t let you be forced into anything you don’t want to do, and I can certainly deliver on that promise,” Chu Fan said.

Li Haiqin nodded. “Alright. I believe you.”

While they spoke, the battle in the room raged on, the Guards on both sides apparently evenly matched.

Though some on both sides were injured, none of the wounds were serious. The only fatality was the man Chu Fan had killed with a single kick.

Every time Moqish’s gaze fell on Chu Fan, it was filled with enough hatred to tear him to shreds.

Meeting his glare, Chu Fan laughed heartily. “It seems the Princes’ Guards aren’t all that impressive. At this rate, they’ll be fighting all night.”

With that, Chu Fan took Li Haiqin by the wrist. “Princess, let’s go. We’ll let them take their sweet time.”

“Insolent!” Moqish roared.

“Has your arm stopped hurting?” Chu Fan asked with a grin.

Moqish was so enraged by Chu Fan’s words he nearly coughed up blood. He waved his hand. “Stop fighting! Kill that bastard for me!”

“How dare you?” Li Haiqin cried out indignantly.

“Jisierk, aren’t you going to stop your Guards? I don’t think this man is just a simple Guard to Li Haiqin, is he? You wouldn’t want to find out on your wedding night that you’ve married damaged goods, would you!” Moqish sneered.

Jisierk already hated Chu Fan, so after hearing Moqish’s words, he also ordered his Guards, “Kill that Guard first.”

“Jisierk, if you dare to harm him, I would rather die than marry you!” Li Haiqin declared.

Her words, however, only made Jisierk even more furious. “Whether you marry me or not isn’t your decision to make! This Guard of yours has offended me more than once. I am responsible for your safety. I don’t need anyone else.”

The moment he finished speaking, more than a dozen Guards charged at Chu Fan.

Chu Fan let out a cold laugh, drew his Sword, and met their charge.

This was not his Juntian Sword. Although the Juntian Sword had never appeared in the Northern Domain, its battered yet incredibly sharp blade was recognizable to many in the Central and Eastern Domains. To avoid revealing his identity, it was always better to be cautious.

This Sword was the one that had belonged to the real Huo Er.

Against these Guards, a Masterwork Sword was more than enough for someone with Chu Fan’s Cultivation.

Furthermore, Chu Fan deliberately suppressed his power, only revealing the Cultivation of an Integration Realm expert.

If he truly wished it, he could have killed everyone present with a single swing of his Sword.

Instead, he weaved between his opponents, taking nearly the time it takes to drink half a cup of tea to finally knock the dozen or so Guards to the ground.

This time, however, he didn’t kill anyone. He didn’t even cripple them. He merely left them temporarily unable to continue the fight.

Staring at the Guards collapsed on the floor, the three scions of the Golden Clan were utterly dumbstruck.

As for Mo Sang, he was filled with utter terror.

Li Haiqin watched Chu Fan thoughtfully, her eyes narrowing into slits.

“Prince Moqish, Little Princess Li Haiqin is the pearl of our Lindi Clan. No one is permitted to humiliate her. Forget Mo Sang, that son of a slave. Even if you, Prince Moqish, were to speak disrespectfully to the Little Princess, I would slap you just the same,” Chu Fan warned, his cold gaze fixed on Moqish.

Moqish stared at Chu Fan in disbelief. ‘I’m being threatened by a mere Guard?’

For a moment, Moqish was too stunned to even rebuke him.

Chu Fan then turned his gaze to Jisierk. “Prince Jisierk, your Guards are quite useless. With Combat Power like that, how can you expect our old Patriarch to entrust his most precious treasure to you?”

While they were still reeling in shock, Chu Fan took Li Haiqin by the wrist and walked out of the Tayun Building.
