Chapter 52: Whereabouts Exposed After All?
Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Whereabouts Exposed After All?
In the days that followed, Wang Xing and Qi Wei became even more certain that there was some unspeakable secret between Chu Fan and Yan Ying.
Whenever the two of them were alone, they would often sigh. ’Brother Chu is such a good person, and a Cultivation Expert at that. How could he have a preference for men?’
Even though Young Master Yan was prettier than a woman, he was still a man!
They even discussed going to the county’s pleasure district to find a few Courtesans to try and change Chu Fan’s preferences.
If Chu Fan knew what they were thinking, he would probably cough up three liters of blood.
But you couldn’t really blame them for having such unwholesome ideas.
After all, Chu Fan and Yan Ying would often lock themselves in a room together for one or two hours at a time.
There was still some time before December 8th, so Chu Fan was naturally doing everything possible to improve his Cultivation and combat prowess.
Thus, during this time, aside from instructing Ye Xiaohan and the other two and teaching Yan Ying the Python Shadow Four Techniques, he was practically Cultivating around the clock.
He had already fully mastered the Python Shadow Four Techniques, and he had even practiced the Third Technique of the Dream-Breaking Meteor Sword to the Minor Success Realm.
By spending one to two hours a day studying the Scroll with Yan Ying, his Spiritual Power had already risen to Level 17.
What did it mean to have Level 17 Spiritual Power?
If he stood high enough, his vision could extend for dozens of miles. Even with his eyes and ears covered, everything within a one-mile radius was perfectly clear in his mind.
Perhaps due to the Jade Pendant, his Cultivation also improved quickly from his continuous training.
In just half a month, his Realm had advanced by three tiers.
But what surprised him most was the power of the Miaolian Celestial Stabilization Technique.
After reaching the Pill Formation Realm, for every tier he advanced, another Lotus Seed in the pod would become full and round.
For example, now that he was at Pill Formation Realm Tier Four, it was as if he had four Golden Cores in his Dantian.
For a Cultivator, a single Golden Core was equivalent to an extra life!
However, Chu Fan also realized that if he wanted to form a Nascent Soul, he would have to put in thirteen times the effort of an ordinary Cultivator.
Only when all thirteen Lotus Seeds had fully formed into cores could he take the next step toward the Nascent Soul Realm.
As he Cultivated with Yan Ying during this period, he realized that the Central Domain truly couldn’t be compared to a desolate place like the Eastern Domain.
Compared to Yan Ying’s talent, his former title as the number one prodigy of the Eastern Domain was an absolute joke.
Initially, Yan Ying’s Spiritual Power had actually been weaker than Chu Fan’s. But after they studied the Scroll together, as Chu Fan reached Level 17, so did he.
She fully mastered the Python Shadow Four Techniques in just seven days.
Furthermore, in the past half-month, her Realm had also advanced two tiers, and she was now at Golden Core Realm Tier Five.
Keep in mind, Chu Fan only improved so quickly because he possessed the Jade Pendant, had a Chaos Body, and was Cultivating the Miaolian Celestial Stabilization Technique.
For any other Cultivator, advancing two tiers in the Golden Core Realm in just half a month was a feat that surpassed anyone Chu Fan knew.
"Brother Chu, this is bad!"
One day, as Chu Fan was practicing with his Sword in the courtyard, Qi Wei burst in, groceries in hand, in a complete panic.
Chu Fan stopped his practice and asked, "What happened?"
"A lot of Cultivators have arrived in the city, and they’ve put up notices at every Workshop Gate. The portrait on the notice... it looks like you," Qi Wei stammered.
"A notice? A portrait of me? Be more specific!" Chu Fan already had an inkling of what was going on.
"The notice says you’re a Great Demon, guilty of heinous crimes. All the Cultivators under heaven have jointly issued it, calling for your capture to prevent you from bringing disaster upon the world."
"Does it mention my name?" Chu Fan asked.
Qi Wei shook his head. "No, but the portrait is a perfect likeness, right down to the fabric strip you use to tie up your hair."
Hearing this from the side, Yan Ying laughed. "It must be those people from Zao Ying Mountain. They went back and told their Sect elders what happened. Considering how many people you killed, it’d be strange if those Sects *didn’t* turn the Eastern Domain upside down looking for you. That said, the Cultivation Sects in your Eastern Domain are truly pathetic, using such a crude and ineffective method to find one person."
Chu Fan couldn’t help but roll his eyes at him. "Your subordinates did most of the killing."
"Tch. Weren’t you just using me to divert their animosity? But you forgot—they wouldn’t dare touch the Celestial Dao Palace, but you’re a different story. And then there’s that fellow, Master Ni. Who knows where he is now! If he tells them your name... heheh!"
Yan Ying chuckled and added teasingly, "So, how about it? Why not just join our Celestial Dao Palace? I guarantee none of these Eastern Domain Sects will dare to touch you. I’ll have your back."
Ordinarily, based on what Chu Fan knew of Master Ni’s reputation and character, he wouldn’t have revealed his identity. But Chu Fan couldn’t be sure what he would do now that those disciples had likely given their Sect elders an exaggerated account of the fight for the Scroll.
If his name got out, he would truly become the public enemy of the entire Eastern Domain Cultivation Realm.
To be on the safe side, Chu Fan went back to his room and shaved off the beard he’d been growing for months. He then tied up his hair and wrapped it in a square kerchief.
He also changed his clothes, donning a long, white brocade robe with a semi-transparent black gauze over-robe.
He swapped his cloth shoes for tall boots.
He already had a Chaos Body, and after undergoing several rounds of Purification of Essence and Marrow, all hidden impurities had been purged from his body, leaving his skin flawless and smooth.
His clean-shaven face, combined with his new attire, completely transformed his previously rugged image. He now looked more like a refined young nobleman.
When he emerged again, everyone, including Yan Ying, was dumbfounded.
It was just a change of attire, yet he looked like a completely different person.
"Brother Chu, I never realized you were so handsome," Ye Xiaohan said.
’Are you kidding me?’ He and Yun Xi, the greatest beauty in the Eastern Domain, had been called a perfect match of talent and looks. If he were only talented but not handsome, how could he ever have been considered worthy of her?
Chu Fan was about to offer a few modest words when his expression suddenly changed.
Someone was pounding on the main gate from outside.
With his Spiritual Power at Level 17, Chu Fan could perceive the situation outside with perfect clarity using only his spiritual sense.
"You all handle this. I’m going to hide inside."
With those words, he hurried back into the house.
It wasn’t that he feared them; he just didn’t want any trouble. Though he didn’t recognize the newcomers, he could tell they were Cultivators from the Eastern Domain.
The Six Sects and Eight Gates probably thought he had died at the hands of Yan Qi, the Sect Leader of the Red Blood Mansion. To maintain the element of surprise for December 8th, it was better if no one knew he was still alive.
Wang Xing walked to the gate and opened it.
The moment the gate opened, a dozen or so people barged in.
The leader was a middle-aged man, also at the Golden Core Realm. He held a notice and spoke imperiously to Qi Wei and the others. "I hear the man on this notice entered this residence half a month ago and hasn’t left since. Bring him out!"
"I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t recognize the person on there at all," Wang Xing said, mustering his courage and flatly denying it.
"Did you think I was here to negotiate? Search!" The middle-aged man glared at Wang Xing and waved a hand to the men behind him.
"You can’t! Is there no law anymore? You’re trespassing!" Wang Xing shouted, trying to block them.
"Kill him," the middle-aged man said to a disciple beside him.
The disciple gave a sinister grin and swung his Sword, slashing down at Wang Xing...
