The final stop of the journey is to get a set of souvenir stamps at the tourism headquarters. Xu Huo had anticipated this; it’s not a checkpoint every player must go through, as some players can clear it without dealing with government bureaucracy.

When he arrived at the service hall, there were at least a dozen players waiting in line for their numbers to be called. Two of them were extremely agitated, angrily slapping paper documents on a nearby robot’s head and shouting at the staff, “Yesterday you said people went off work and told us to come today. Today you say we need an appointment to get a number. Fine! We’ve got a number, so we can complete the process, right? When it’s our turn, you say we’re missing documents and need to go back to Building 1 to prepare them. Fine, we’ve got the documents, but the person stamping is gone, saying they’re at a meeting?”

“What? There’s only one person in this huge office building who can stamp? If it’s so busy, why not use robots instead? There are robots idling all around here!”

As they spoke, they continued to hit the robot’s head, making loud banging sounds.

The staff maintained a smiling service, cheerfully saying, “Sir, I personally understand your feelings, but the tourism department has its own rules. It’s not appropriate to make exceptions for someone. Please wait a little longer; the person stamping will be back shortly.”

After speaking, the staff member left, leaving the two players who were fuming with anger yet had to hold it in. Besides waiting in line, what else could they do? It was already the final checkpoint for clearing the game, and if they caused a fuss in the government office building, they could basically say goodbye to clearing the game.

It was soon Xu Huo’s turn. The clerk first checked his travel itinerary, then gave him a stamp, and when handing it back said, “You’ll need to go to Building 17 for an additional main stamp.”

The clerk pointed to a nearby robot, “Just follow it.”

Xu Huo didn’t say much and followed the robot.

The tourism headquarters had quite a distinctive architecture. Here, non-staff were not allowed to use vehicles, so he could only walk with the robot to Building 17.

Building 17 was in the center of the entire complex. Upon entering, he saw a luxurious hall first. The hall was not furnished with tables and chairs; most of the space was controlled. He had to cross over a hundred meters of the long hall to reach a service counter. When Xu Huo approached, there was no one there. After the robot dialed, a petite figure slowly walked out.

Xu Huo raised his eyebrows involuntarily upon seeing her face—she looked exactly like Lei Jie Lian. The reason he could tell she wasn’t Lei Jie Lian was because her evolution rate was only achievable by players, and the demeanor of the two was vastly different, despite being the same height.

“Travel itinerary.” She jumped onto the chair, motioning for him to hand it over.

Xu Huo handed over his travel itinerary, and the girl began looking at it while spinning her chair, “Your souvenirs are quite valuable. Even after clearing the game, you can sell them to make money back, especially that Bone Remains piece. Gu Hui Peak has announced he’ll be resting due to illness, and won’t be producing new works for a while, so everyone fears he might be dead. Hence, the price of Bone Remains keeps rising.”

“Others lose money clearing the game, why can you earn money?”

“Maybe I’m just lucky,” Xu Huo said.

The girl shook her head, seriously saying, “It’s not that you’re lucky, it’s that you’re more ruthless.”

“I’ve coveted Lei Jie’s Dark Matter for a long time, but she’s my sister, and I can’t use too cruel methods on her. I’m her older sister, after all, so looking after her is only natural. We agreed she’d give me the Dark Matter when she’s near death, but unexpectedly, you took it before I could.”

“Didn’t you think she might be deceiving you?” Xu Huo remained unmoved, “You’re Lei Jie Lian’s sister, which also makes you the Chief Governor’s daughter. Isn’t the Dark Matter issue resolved already?”

“They’ve negotiated with you, but not with me.” The girl jumped down from the chair and stomped her foot, causing the whole crystal hall to contract, walls folding with the space gradually. The ceiling descended, and the floor quickly sank underground.

The girl followed down, clapping her hands, causing multiple props to be spat out from the folding hall walls. These props simultaneously released a throbbing force, seemingly shattering the air within this tight space. The Defensive Barrier emitted from Xu Huo’s body didn’t last long.

Layer upon layer of Spatial Bodies formed continuously, trying to push towards the girl while resisting the throbbing force.

The girl was indifferent. As the Space Barrier approached, she lightly touched it. The whole Space Body was instantly structured into a harmless Spatial Ray, her gaze fixed on Xu Huo, “This is the method I devised specifically to counter Dark Matter. Don’t use Spatial Evolution as a shield, use Dark Matter!”

“Alright!” Xu Huo responded, then was quickly swallowed up by the Dark Matter, disappearing for a moment. The next moment, he appeared behind the girl, reaching for her head.

As the girl turned and retreated, a spider-web-like colorful glass thread net formed behind her, spreading across the entire building space, making it unavoidable for Xu Huo.

He tried using My Heart is Dark, but noticed he couldn’t escape the hall even when stretching the distance to its maximum, so he stopped trying. As the net enveloped him, he rapidly moved to the front of the girl, but just as he was about to touch her, his view suddenly blurred. The next moment, the girl retreated out of the net center, leaving him alone inside!

The net constricted instantly, tightly wrapping around him with such force it almost broke his bones while the girl watched from afar.

Seeing he couldn’t escape the net, she couldn’t help but laugh, “Dark Matter is useful, but its flaw is it can’t discard items from your body and only brings the person along. This net is a Super A-Class Prop, specially coated with poison… Rest assured, after you die, I’ll treat your body well with a grand burial.”

Xu Huo’s Protective Suit was already damaged when the net contracted, so his vision did blur slightly, splitting into many blocks. Among the haze, the girl’s figure also multiplied.

“Dark Matter cannot be inherited.” He reminded.

The girl sighed, somewhat helplessly saying, “That’s the tricky part, huh? Players’ constitution holds up, so poisoning takes a while to kill. If you give me the game items, I’ll provide the Antitoxin and let you go. How’s that?”

Xu Huo seemed unsteady, as if barely holding on, “You’ve prepared so thoroughly; you must have been waiting for someone to acquire these game items from Lei Jie Lian. Are your current actions representative of Zone 022’s District Government’s intentions?”
