Kicked Out, Flash-Married, and Now He Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 275: Seeing Shelly Lowell Again
Chapter 275: Chapter 275: Seeing Shelly Lowell Again
Vivian Lowell quietly told Julian Faulkner about her concerns.
"Mm, we’ll just find a chance to clarify things. It’s fine. We’re not really public figures, and this isn’t something we can just announce casually. Don’t worry."
Julian Faulkner tightly gripped Vivian Lowell’s hand.
Vivian felt much more at ease. Since she had nothing else to do, and a few brand representatives she often communicated with online had just arrived, Vivian went over to speak with them.
The group chatted for a while.
One of the girls gossipily asked about Julian’s proposal from the day before. After Vivian confirmed it, she also mentioned that if they held a wedding banquet, she would definitely send them invitations.
The girl was delighted and said, "That’s wonderful! If I have business in Veridia around that time, I’ll definitely go! By the way, our brand is preparing to launch a new set of jewelry."
"It’s gold. I heard that young people in Veridia are getting more and more into gold accessories. Diamond sales have been dropping in recent years, which has been a real headache for us."
"If we want to break into the Veridian market, we’ll have to trouble you with the designs for this collection of gold jewelry. I’m really looking forward to our future collaboration!"
The girl was a true native of Gallia, the daughter of a jewelry company’s owner. She had studied design herself and was a friend of Vivian’s from her time as an exchange student.
Now, several years later, the former student had returned to her family’s business to start designing and handling some of their external affairs.
Vivian had previously helped their brand with its development in Veridia. Now that they wanted to enter Veridia’s gold jewelry market, the Gallian girl was at a loss.
She had to ask Vivian, a Veridian, for advice!
"That’s no problem. I’m also looking forward to our future collaboration!"
As the two of them talked, other brand representatives nearby couldn’t stand by any longer and chimed in, expressing their own desires to collaborate with Vivian.
Vivian’s design concepts were boundless and imaginative. Almost every piece she designed sold exceptionally well—she was practically a human money-printing machine!
Not to be outdone, they also handed over their business cards.
Vivian accepted each one and put them away, unable to stop a headache from coming on.
’So many business cards, so many collaborations. I’m definitely going to be busy. Still, it’s a good kind of headache, one I can accept!’
After chatting for a bit, celebrities began to walk the runway at the fashion show.
Seeing this, the Gallian girl invited Vivian to go watch, saying, "There’s a Veridian celebrity I really like coming today. She’s so beautiful and has a great figure!"
Vivian knew of this celebrity. She was in her thirties and maintained herself incredibly well. Even though she had a daughter, she still exuded a very youthful, girlish charm.
Vivian liked her a lot too.
"Okay, let’s go take a look."
Vivian agreed and found a good spot to watch from.
Walking the red carpet was actually a strategic affair.
Many people would even fake a fall to grab attention, though that was mostly limited to eighteenth-tier starlets who were desperate to make a name for themselves.
As she was thinking this, Vivian saw the celebrity.
She was wearing a little black dress today, which made her look even more innocently seductive. Beyond her youthful charm, she now had an air of sexiness and allure, making her absolutely stunning.
Just as Vivian was looking at the dress, a flash of design inspiration striking her, she heard a commotion from behind.
It sounded like someone was trying to force their way in.
It was a woman. Her Gallian was terrible, clearly unpracticed. But when Vivian turned around, she felt that the woman seemed...
’...a bit familiar?’
Vivian hesitated for a moment before recognizing her. The person who had suddenly burst in was none other than Shelly Lowell!
When Shelly’s familiar face appeared before her, it took Vivian a moment to process what was happening and snap out of her surprise.
Shelly Lowell.
Vivian remembered that after she had reported Sharon Galahad for tax evasion and embezzlement, Shelly had gradually faded from her life.
She didn’t know where Shelly had gone, but to the Vivian of that time, it hadn’t mattered.
In her past life, Shelly had been famous in the design world, but it was all thanks to Vivian’s work. In this life, without Vivian’s "cultivation," she was destined for failure.
Later, after Sharon Galahad and Robert Lowell died, Mason Grant broke off his engagement with Shelly, and she gradually disappeared.
Vivian had tried to find out what happened to Shelly and heard she’d gone abroad. Vivian figured Shelly wasn’t someone who could ever make something of herself.
Besides, Shelly was sick. In her last life, she had needed to harvest Vivian’s organs just to survive. In this life, with no money or power, her prospects were likely even more hopeless.
She just never expected to see Shelly here.
’Why would Shelly come here?’
As she was thinking, the Gallian girl asked Vivian, "Do you know her? You don’t look so well! Should I call security?"
"Or should I have someone get Julian Faulkner?"
"There’s no need."
Vivian shook her head, her thoughts returning to the present. Just as she furrowed her brow, trying to see what was going on, Shelly spotted her and instantly became agitated.
"It’s you, Vivian Lowell!"
Shelly’s shout drew the attention of many people.
Many of the people attending Fashion Week in Pariden today were Veridian. In Veridia, the name Vivian Lowell might not be a household name, but many people still knew who she was.
The "rose incident" from yesterday, in particular, had solidified her image in many people’s minds!
Veridia’s only designer in the International Designers Association, whose works sold for at least seven figures, and who had married into the Faulkner Family on her own merit, becoming Mrs. Faulkner.
More importantly, Julian Faulkner treated this Mrs. Faulkner so well. That romantic proposal scene was something countless girls could only dream of!
The celebrities had come to Fashion Week today to show their best side, so who would have expected a seemingly crazed woman to show up and confront Vivian Lowell?
Even more importantly, there seemed to be some history between Vivian and this madwoman!
Many people turned to look, some out of curiosity, others with different motives. In any case, even much of the media had shifted their attention.
This seemed to be the exact effect Shelly wanted.
When she saw that she had captured everyone’s attention, she began to scream.
"Vivian Lowell, you sanctimonious hypocrite! You’ve always been a fraud! You do charity work and save cats, but I’m a living, breathing person, and you just ignore me!"
"Vivian Lowell, why?! You registered with the agency and said you were willing to donate if a suitable patient was found! I happen to be a match for you, so why won’t you save me?!"
Vivian frowned.
’Shelly’s illness has progressed this quickly?’
She hadn’t known about that.
’But Shelly is just ridiculous. Doesn’t she have any self-awareness about the state of their relationship?’
’How dare she run over here and ask me this question?’
’Who’s the real sanctimonious hypocrite here?’
’Who’s the shameless one?’
Vivian sighed. Seeing the considerable commotion Shelly was causing, she said to the security guards, "Get her out of here. Remove her, and don’t let her back in."
"Otherwise, I’ll file a complaint."
Vivian didn’t mince her words.
Hearing this, the security guards on site couldn’t argue. This was indeed a lapse in their duties, and they had to handle it properly!
The guards immediately moved to remove Shelly.
Shelly kept struggling, and just then, something else unexpected happened.
Joy Drake arrived.
She gestured for the guards to restrain Shelly for the moment, then walked up to Vivian and asked gently, "Mrs. Faulkner, did something happen?"
"Do you need my help? Huh? This person... she looks a little familiar. I remember now, isn’t she... Oh, my apologies, Mrs. Faulkner."
"How about we send her to the police station? If we just throw her out, she might come back and cause more trouble later. What do you think, Mrs. Faulkner?"
Vivian shot Joy a cold glance.
She had a feeling that Joy’s motives for saying this weren’t so pure.
Vivian knew exactly what kind of person Joy Drake was.
’If I handed Shelly over to Joy, who knows what might happen.’
"That won’t be necessary."
Vivian rejected Joy’s suggestion, her expression cold. "Since Shelly Lowell is someone connected to me, it’s better if I handle it myself."
"I’ve already contacted Vance Wyatt. He’ll be here soon to take Shelly away, so I won’t have to trouble you, Miss Drake."
Joy didn’t seem the least bit awkward. She just smiled amiably, the same as before, and gestured for her own people to keep an eye on Shelly for the time being.
They would wait for Vance Wyatt to arrive and then hand Shelly over to him.
After giving these instructions, Joy didn’t linger and turned to leave.
Vivian watched Joy walk away, her tense nerves relaxing slightly. She felt that, compared to Shelly, Joy was the more dangerous woman!
"Ugh."
Suddenly, perhaps because too much had happened, a wave of nausea washed over Vivian, and she felt a tightness in her chest. She almost threw up.
"Vivian?"
Just as Vivian was wondering if she should go back and rest for a while, Julian Faulkner appeared.
He came up from behind her and wrapped his arms around her, asking urgently, "I heard there was trouble, so I came to see. Are you all right?"
"Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
Vivian shook her head.
The sudden nausea she’d felt was alleviated the moment Julian appeared. She wasn’t sure if it was because of the faint, reassuring scent on him.
Ever since Vivian had gotten pregnant, Julian had consulted a traditional medicine practitioner and would carry some herbs on him to help with her discomfort. If Vivian ever felt like vomiting, he would take them out for her.
The scent usually made Vivian feel much better.
She just hadn’t expected him to be carrying them today as well.
