Kicked Out, Flash-Married, and Now He Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 276: Male God
Chapter 276: Chapter 276: Male God
Perhaps it was precisely because Julian wore it so often that he always carried this faint, reassuring scent, which made all of Vivian’s discomfort melt away.
Vivian shook her head, briefly explaining what had just happened before glancing into the distance.
Vance Wyatt had already arrived. He was currently taking Shelly Lowell away. Shelly looked entirely unwilling, struggling and screaming the whole time she was being dragged off. It sounded like she was still shouting the same things as before, as if she wanted to continue smearing Vivian’s name.
Vivian couldn’t do much about it. She wasn’t about to go over and cover Shelly’s mouth. At any rate, having Shelly dealt with was just one more thing that gave Vivian peace of mind.
"Vance will handle it," Julian said. "Alright, an A-list actor you used to love is here today. We ran into each other and chatted for a bit just now. I suggested that you two take a photo together, and he agreed."
"An award-winning actor I really like?" Vivian wondered in surprise, a handsome face instantly popping into her mind.
It was a renowned Best Actor from HK who had starred in countless movies. Even among people from the generation before Vivian’s, many were surely his fans! Not only was he incredibly handsome—the rugged, masculine type—but as he grew older, he had become even more mature and composed, exuding an even stronger masculine charm!
Vivian still adored this actor even now! It was just that as he aged, he appeared in fewer and fewer movies over the years.
"Really? Is it him?" Vivian blurted out the name in her mind, and Julian nodded in confirmation.
"That’s amazing! Julian, you’re the best! AHHH, I’m so happy!" Vivian was so thrilled she almost jumped for joy. Fortunately, she remembered she was pregnant and forced herself to hold back, though she still planted a soft kiss on Julian’s cheek.
Well, her idol was important, but her husband was just as important!
Vivian was overjoyed, and Julian was pleased too. Originally, he hadn’t been quite as happy because he noticed Vivian seemed ready to ignore him for her idol. Discovering that this wasn’t the case left Julian feeling completely satisfied!
It wasn’t long before Vivian finally saw her dream idol, the man she had admired for so long, standing near the red carpet.
"I’ve been a huge fan of yours for so long!" Vivian said, her face flushing red.
Her idol was getting on in years and had quite a bit of white hair, but his smile was still as captivating as ever. He was incredibly polite as he said, "Miss Lowell, I am very glad to have your support."
"Not at all, the pleasure is mine!" Seeing her idol treating her so courteously, Vivian practically had pink hearts floating in her eyes. "Can we take a picture together?" she asked.
"Of course, I’m very happy to meet you today, too!" he replied.
With that, Vivian took a photo with her idol.
After taking the picture, Vivian looked at the photo on her phone, completely satisfied. She held Julian’s hand and asked, "Julian, is there any female celebrity you want to take a photo with?
"If there is, just tell me, and I’ll help you!"
Julian chuckled and shook his head, then said seriously, "No, I don’t really have any favorite female celebrities. Grandma seems to have one, though, but I don’t know if she came today."
"Which one?" Vivian asked eagerly. After Julian mentioned the name, Vivian shook her head. "Then she probably didn’t come. I know a bit about that actress.
"After she got married, she’s been busy with her family. She rarely attends things like Fashion Week anymore. It looks like Grandma’s wish won’t be fulfilled this time.
"Wait, that’s not right. I remember Grandma’s youth was around the same era as my idol’s youth, wasn’t it? Doesn’t Grandma like him?"
"She did," Julian said after a moment’s thought. "But I heard Grandpa Faulkner used to get jealous easily, so gradually, she stopped mentioning how much she liked him. Whether she still likes him now or not, I have no idea."
Vivian fell silent for a moment. She had never expected that the legendary, all-powerful Grandpa Faulkner was actually a jealous man! It was truly fascinating!
As Vivian thought about this, she looked at the photo on her phone again and couldn’t help but hum a happy tune. Meeting her idol and getting a picture with him today was truly a joyous occasion!
Over by the red carpet, celebrities continued to walk past one after another. Vivian spotted quite a few familiar faces—both from Veridia and abroad—and most of them were dressed impeccably.
This year, there didn’t seem to be any D-list celebrities faking falls to grab attention. After watching for a while, Vivian started to feel a bit bored. More importantly, it was about to rain.
Noticing the darkening sky, Julian asked someone for an umbrella. He held it over Vivian and said, "Let’s head back for now. It’s starting to rain, and it’s getting a bit chilly."
"Mhm," Vivian agreed softly, and the two of them returned to the hotel.
Back at the hotel, Eleanor Rhodes and Finn had just returned. They had gone shopping and taken the opportunity to visit The Lumina Museum again. It was absolutely stunning inside, with numerous paintings on display.
Eleanor liked drawing as well. Although she wasn’t an art expert, those were world-renowned masterpieces, so it certainly didn’t hurt to admire them.
The result was... the moment Vivian mentioned seeing her idol today and even taking a photo with him, Eleanor and Finn instantly felt a wave of regret.
"I thought it would just be regular big-name celebrities going. I didn’t expect him to be there too! WAAAH! I want a photo with him as well!" Eleanor wailed. "Vivian, will it be too late if I go tomorrow?"
Vivian shook her head. She figured it would probably be too late. Although Fashion Week lasted for several days, opportunities to walk the red carpet like today were few and far between. Once missed, they would just have to wait for the next time!
"AHHH!" Eleanor wanted to cry, suddenly feeling like the things she had just bought weren’t so fabulous anymore.
The three of them chatted for a bit before eventually retreating to their respective hotel rooms. Since it was raining, there was no way they could go out again anyway. After the exhausting travel of the past few days, taking the afternoon to rest in the hotel sounded perfect.
Meanwhile.
After Vance took Shelly to the police station, he informed the officers that Shelly was a Veridian. He claimed he didn’t know how she had ended up in Gallia and suggested that if she had been smuggled in, they should immediately contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and deport her!
This was standard procedure. After all, they were in Gallia; even if Julian wanted to take matters into his own hands, it wouldn’t be as safe as it was back home. If Shelly was deported back to Veridia, it would be much easier to settle old scores.
However, when the Gallian police looked into it, they discovered that Shelly actually held Gallian citizenship! Deporting her back to Veridia was now completely out of the question!
Upon hearing this, Vance asked for more details. The police merely stated that Shelly had acquired her citizenship four months ago, likely through financial means. It was just that Shelly was now utterly destitute, relying solely on welfare to survive in Gallia!
