Chapter 595: Chapter 394: Change 2

This defied all scientific and medical explanation.

’Is the explanation theological then?’

"Boss, you’re a real man! We’ll buy you a drink when you get back!" Yves’s hearty laughter came through the radio waves, mixed with the faint roar of the wind in the background. It served as a rugged end to the thrilling ordeal.

The call ended.

Feng Mountain tossed the walkie-talkie to Liu Lan and cupped his hands over the fire.

The flames affectionately licked at his fingertips, red from the cold. Warmth crept up his veins, but it was nothing compared to the intense heat spreading through his heart.

"Khilla," Nash said, his voice low and hoarse as he held out a crude earthenware bowl.

The rim of the bowl was lined with white, congealed beef fat, and steam carrying a rich, meaty aroma wafted into his face.

He offered the bubbling broth to Feng Mountain, his movements as pious as those of a zealot.

Feng Mountain paid no mind to whether the rim was clean. He took the bowl, raised it to his lips, and took a large gulp, his Adam’s apple bobbing.

The scalding broth, rich with the aroma of beef fat, slid down his throat and all the way down his esophagus.

The chill dissipated wherever it touched.

It was as if his entire being was reignited from the inside out, his body instantly growing toasty warm.

Once his body was thoroughly warm, Feng Mountain suddenly remembered the Soul Power the tribe’s Fire Seed had received earlier.

He quickly focused his mind to communicate with the tribe’s Fire Seed.

In an instant, a blazing sea of fire exploded in his mind, a mass of raging flames churning with abandon.

Tongues of orange-red flame leaped joyfully, radiating a light that illuminated the entire space of his consciousness as brightly as day.

Feng Mountain could clearly feel an almost childlike joy radiating from the dancing flames, as if they were cheering, leaping, and ecstatic to have regained Soul Power.

Above the tribe’s Fire Seed, a dark red beam of light condensed from Soul Power stretched out like a mysterious tether from the void.

It broke through countless obstacles, piercing straight through the heavens.

The dark red light flickered with a mysterious luster, continuously pouring immense Soul Power into the tribe’s Fire Seed.

With every surge of Soul Power, the flames of the tribe’s Fire Seed grew more vigorous and scorching, as if they would set the entire world ablaze.

Feng Mountain quickly focused his mind, extending his consciousness to the Totem Fire on the River Beach.

In an instant, his vision seemed to pass through a barrier of space and time.

The scene in his mind abruptly switched from the tribe’s Fire Seed to the turbulent waters of the Bering Sea.

Before him, the River Beach rose and fell, tossing and swaying in the churning waves.

The hull crashed against the waves, sending up plumes of spray that scattered like shattered jade.

In the cockpit, Alvin stood before the helm, his gaze like a torch and his expression so focused it was as if he had merged with the ship.

His hands steadily controlled the helm, each turn perfectly precise. Every so often, he picked up the intercom to issue commands to the crew.

On the deck of the River Beach, busy figures bustled back and forth, creating a vibrant scene of activity.

With a CREAK from the winch, a bulging trawl net was slowly hauled from the depths of the sea onto the deck.

The trawl net was stuffed so full with the catch it looked ready to burst. Glistening water droplets clung to its surface, sparkling in the sunlight.

The moment the knot on the net was untied, the catch poured out like a bursting floodgate. With a great WHOOSH, a torrent of flopping, jumping fish spilled onto the sorting area of the deck.

The crew, already in position, began working with skilled and orderly movements, quickly sorting the different species of fish into boxes.

The scene, though busy, was perfectly orderly.

In the midst of the busy sorting process, streams of red Soul Power, invisible to the naked eye, rose quietly from the sorting area. Like nimble sprites, they flew toward the Totem Fire in the cockpit.

The Totem Fire acted like a giant vortex, greedily absorbing this Soul Power, its light growing ever more dazzling.

Then, it transformed the condensed Soul Power into a brilliant stream of light and cast it into the void.

This stream of light crossed a distance of thousands of kilometers, breaking through countless obstacles as it sped toward the Crown Territory to inject abundant Soul Power into the tribe’s Fire Seed.

The majestic, surging Soul Power rushed through his consciousness like a warm current.

’It feels so good to have Soul Power!’

He watched the Soul Power pour into the tribe’s Fire Seed like a great, ceaseless river.

Feng Mountain wished he could rush out of the snow cave and roar into the vast, snowy plains, completely venting his ecstasy.

However, this was no time to indulge in his joy.

His gaze swept over the howling blizzard outside the snow cave, then fell upon Liu Lan’s pale yet recovering face. A sense of duty instantly chilled his heart.

’I have to deal with this potentially world-ending blizzard first.’

The moment the thought formed, he decisively severed his connection to the River Beach’s Totem Fire, his consciousness snapping back to the tribe’s Fire Seed.

The orange-red flames roared in his mind as if answering his call.

Faced with this overwhelming cold front, Feng Mountain knew that protecting the entire Crown Territory with his current Soul Power was a pipe dream. But he had enough strength to at least fight to protect the camp.

’First, protect the camp. Raise the temperature as much as possible!’

Feng Mountain issued the command in his consciousness.

As for the Mossy Wasteland, he had no choice but to reluctantly abandon it for now.

The vegetation swallowed by the Blizzard, the frozen streams... he would have to wait until after this disaster passed to slowly revive them with the tribe’s Fire Seed.

Having done all this, fine beads of sweat broke out on Feng Mountain’s forehead.

He gazed at the snowstorm still raging outside the cave and clenched his fists.

’As long as the camp stands and the tribe’s Fire Seed survives, there is no obstacle we can’t overcome.’

Upon receiving the command, the tribe’s Fire Seed trembled violently as if it had been brought to life.

The Fire Seed’s light suddenly surged, like a sun abruptly igniting in the darkness.

The orange-red flames suddenly let out a low roar, like a waking behemoth, and the fire’s intensity grew exponentially.

In the blink of an eye, a pillar of fire more than two meters high shot into the sky, its searing heatwave carrying CRACKLING sparks.

The wildly swaying flames, like countless crimson silk ribbons, emitted a suffocating heat. With the Fire Seed at its center, the blinding firelight spread out like ripples on water, expanding in circles toward every corner of the camp.

Meanwhile, a strange scene was unfolding above the camp.

The snowflakes dancing wildly in the sky suddenly froze mid-air, as if seized by a pair of invisible, giant hands.

An invisible wave of heat spread out from the camp’s fire pit.

Then, as if pulled by some mysterious force, countless snowflakes formed a huge vortex in mid-air. Like being filtered through a sieve, they all drifted toward the outskirts of the camp.

「The Log Cabin」

The once-spacious living room was now crammed with over forty people, making it feel incredibly crowded and the air stuffy.

When the news that Liu Lan was safe came through the walkie-talkie, the entire room seemed to explode with life.

Cheers erupted one after another. Some people clapped until their hands were red, some were so emotional their eyes welled up, and a few members of the Bear Tribe even jumped onto the tables, roaring in victory at the top of their lungs.

The long-suppressed anxiety and worry were completely released in that cheer, making the very walls of the cabin buzz.

The members of the Bear Tribe were so excited they danced for joy. Frank pulled out Feng Mountain’s prized white liquor, and they all drank heartily to celebrate.

Natasha sank quietly into the soft sofa.

Watching the lively scene before her, a gentle smile unconsciously graced her lips.

She lifted her wine glass and took a delicate sip.

The red wine slid down her throat, its warmth mingling with the relief in her heart.

Just then, Xiaohua, who was standing by the window, suddenly spoke, her nose nearly pressed against the frost-covered glass.

"Did the wind outside die down?"

After saying this, she stared again at the howling curtain of snow outside, feeling that something wasn’t quite right.

A moment ago, she could still hear the HOWL of the wind and snow against the window, but now it had grown faint and was getting quieter and quieter.

However, her confusion seemed out of place amidst the jubilation.

Someone answered without even turning around.

"Blizzards ebb and flow. It’s perfectly normal!"

The others chimed in, continuing to bask in the joy of their narrow escape.

No one noticed that outside the log cabin, a miracle caused by the tribe’s Fire Seed was quietly altering the trajectory of the blizzard.

And no one could have imagined that behind the weakening storm was Feng Mountain, far away in a snow cave on the Mossy Wasteland, creating a warm sanctuary for the entire camp.
