Landlord in the Arctic
Chapter 695 - 444: Declaration
Inside the cabin.
Only the faint hum of the propeller could be heard.
The days of constant travel had left everyone exhausted. They sat listlessly in their seats, enjoying a brief moment of respite.
Gruus, however, was pressed against a porthole, a look of utter shock on his face.
His eyes were wide, and thinking he was seeing things, he quickly rubbed them hard.
Then his jaw dropped, and he cried out in disbelief.
"God, what is that?"
Hearing the exclamation, the others resting in the cabin followed his gaze out the window.
On the land shrouded by the polar night.
In the heart of a valley between towering, snow-capped mountains, Gruus saw a stretch of green grassland, visible by the light reflecting off the snow.
The grassland looked utterly out of place, surrounded as it was by a world of ice and snow.
But what surprised him even more was that,
in the center of the grassland, a cluster of brightly lit buildings rose up, like a pearl shimmering in the darkness.
'How can grass still grow in such a cold environment?'
Countless questions instantly popped into Gruus's mind.
Just then, the women in the cabin began to speak excitedly, as if they had discovered a new world.
"We're finally home!"
"Wow, the camp's Tundra has grown back!"
"It grew so fast! I was worried it would take a long time!"
"We can pick berries again. The Crown Territory bar can restock its signature cocktails."
In the cockpit.
Feng Shan skillfully guided the P-750 through a graceful arc in the night sky.
The plane's wings cut a beautiful curve through the air as the fuselage weaved nimbly between the valleys.
As he gradually descended, the roar of the propeller echoed over the camp.
Looking through the window, Feng Shan saw the familiar buildings, and a warm sense of belonging welled up inside him.
He slightly adjusted the plane's attitude.
He circled over the camp at a slow, steady speed, announcing his return to the land below.
At that moment, the people in the camp heard the sound, stopped what they were doing, and looked up at the night sky.
They knew their boss was back!
After completing his greeting, Feng Shan piloted the plane toward the runway.
The plane's speed slowly decreased, the landing gear drawing closer and closer to the runway.
The moment the tires touched the tarmac, the fuselage trembled slightly before gliding smoothly down the runway.
The P-750 came to a steady stop on the runway.
At almost the same time, camp employees began to appear one after another beside the runway.
Their faces beaming with smiles, they all walked toward the plane to welcome Feng Shan and his returning companions.
The cabin door opened slowly, and a soft light spilled out from within.
Jenny led a few other women down the steps first.
In an instant, Feng Jun, Paine, David, Wawa, Maria, Daisen, and the members of the Bear Tribe standing before the plane all broke into joyful smiles.
Recalling the day they learned Jenny and the others were in trouble, the employees who had remained at the camp had been instantly incensed, their emotions running high.
Everyone had been spoiling for a fight, strongly demanding to go to Montana immediately to rescue them.
The members of the Bear Tribe had even taken out their treasured War Spears and Shields, planning to launch an Indigenous People's expedition of revenge.
However, impulse often clouds reason and can lead to even worse consequences.
At the critical moment, Yves had shown his calm, painstakingly persuading everyone to weigh the pros and cons, and finally managed to soothe their impulsive emotions.
Even so, in the days that followed, no one could find peace. They all silently and devoutly prayed for Jenny and the others, hoping for their safe and sound return.
And now, seeing Jenny and the others appear before them, completely unharmed, everyone's faces broke into happy smiles.
As Feng Shan, the backbone of Crown Territory, stepped off the plane, the atmosphere on the runway was instantly pushed to an even more fervent climax.
Everyone crowded around, their excitement palpable. Laughter, cheerful chatter, and words of concern mingled together, creating a din as lively as a bustling marketplace.
However, amid this joyous and harmonious atmosphere, Gruus and Diego seemed completely out of place.
Like two lost strangers, they stood pitifully to the side, their eyes filled with envy.
Having just arrived, they felt a sense of unfamiliarity and distance toward this new environment.
Faced with the fiery enthusiasm of the scene before them, they were momentarily at a loss for what to do.
Mova, on the other hand, stood quietly to the side, silently observing everything around her.
'This is Crown Territory. From now on, this is the place I'll be working for.'
She thought to herself.
'I have to familiarize myself with everything here as soon as possible and integrate into this new environment.'
Feng Shan looked at the chaotic scene on the runway.
Everyone was talking at once, and the noise was so loud that it was impossible to hear what anyone was saying.
He immediately smiled and shouted.
"Let's go home!"
His voice seemed to have a magical power, instantly quieting the surrounding clamor a little.
AWOOO!!
Just as everyone was immersed in the joy of their reunion, a series of tiger roars suddenly erupted from the dark Mossy Tundra.
The sound was as loud as a great bell, echoing through the silent night sky with a chilling majesty.
After the tiger roars, the long neigh of a horse followed.
Almost at the same time, a huge black shadow flew rapidly from the night sky toward the runway.
It was so fast that no one had time to react.
When the two newcomers, Gruus and Diego, heard the tiger roars, their faces changed drastically, instantly turning ashen.
Before their brains could even issue a command, their bodies reacted instinctively, and they turned and ran back toward the plane.
As he ran, Gruus cursed wildly in his head.
'What kind of damn place is this?!'
'Jenny described it like the Land of Oz from a fairy tale!'
'Why are there tigers?!'
But when Feng Shan heard these animal calls, he simply narrowed his eyes, a pleased smile appearing on his face.
