Landlord in the Arctic

Chapter 715: Chapter 454: Consultant
As time went on.
Like a guest reluctant to leave, daylight temporarily withdrew from the stage of the sky, surrendering the world to the polar night.
The black sky was a giant canopy, tightly enveloping the Far North Tundra.
Under the cloak of night.
One by one, the streetlights in the camp flickered to life. Their dim yellow light spread lazily, carving out a faint, warm pocket of brightness in the vast, dark expanse of the Far North Tundra.
At that moment, Feng Mountain was lying contentedly in Jenny’s bed, a faintly scented blanket pulled over him.
Little Mira was sleeping beside the pillow, belly-up with its paws splayed out.
Every now and then, a soft, rumbling snore escaped its mouth.
The cabin door opened softly from the outside.
Jenny entered the room, her steps light and gentle.
When she saw Feng Mountain lying on her bed,
A shy blush instantly flooded her fair cheeks, like clouds painted by the setting sun.
She tiptoed slowly to the side of the bed.
She leaned in close and whispered in Feng Mountain’s ear.
"Darling, it’s time!"
Feng Mountain drowsily opened his eyes to see Jenny’s enchanting face just inches from his. A faint blush colored her lovely cheeks, and her bright eyes gazed at him, full of affection.
A sudden warmth surged through him.
On impulse, he threw an arm around Jenny, pulling her into a tight embrace and drawing her under the warm blanket.
AOOOWW!
The commotion woke Little Mira, who let out a cry of discontent.
Confused, it stared at the tumbling blanket, thinking its mommy and daddy were just playing around.
It instantly grew excited, eager to join the fun.
The moment the little one burrowed under the blanket, it was lifted by the scruff of its neck.
Feng Mountain, who wanted nothing more than to be intimate with Jenny right now, was in no mood to deal with Little Mira.
He simply opened the window and tossed it outside.
Immediately, Little Mira’s wounded cries echoed from outside the window, full of indignation as it protested being so heartlessly abandoned.
He was supposed to meet Little Barry and Old Tom at 3 o’clock.
But lost in his lover’s embrace, Feng Mountain had completely lost all track of time.
It wasn’t until after four o’clock
that a refreshed and cheerful-looking Feng Mountain finally sauntered into the restaurant.
The moment he walked in,
he saw Old Tom sitting there,
a sullen look on his face.
Grumpily, he pointed at the beer bottles scattered across the table and complained.
"Pal, punctuality is the mark of a gentleman. Do you know how many beers I’ve had to drink for the good of this restaurant while waiting for you?"
"Thanks for patronizing Crown Territory. Maybe I should’ve come even later—waited until you’d contributed dinner, too." A slight smile played on Feng Mountain’s lips as he teased him, then pretended to turn and leave.
"Alright, pal, my mistake!"
Seeing this, Old Tom rushed forward,
grabbing Feng Mountain’s arm and half-dragging him to a chair.
Then he bellowed to the server, "Three more beers."
"They’re on his tab!" Feng Mountain added quickly, as if he’d just remembered, a sly grin spreading across his face.
Old Tom heard him and could only shake his head with a wry smile. "Yeah, yeah," he said, resigned. "I’m paying."
Watching their interaction from the side,
Little Barry couldn’t help but smile, envious of their easy camaraderie.
The server returned with an enthusiastic smile and deftly placed three more beers on the table.
She then thoughtfully brought over a basket of fries. "These are on the house," she said with a smile. "Enjoy."
Hearing this, Feng Mountain immediately shot Old Tom a smug look.
His expression seemed to say: *See? This is what clout looks like!*
Little Barry then picked up a file and respectfully presented it to Feng Mountain.
"Boss, I’ve been in contact with a container home design company in Seattle City. Here are the contract and design drawings they provided, along with their discount terms: 5% off for 10 units, 10% off for 30, and if we order more than 100 units, they’ll give us a 30% discount on the total price."
Feng Mountain nodded, taking the file and beginning to carefully look over the designs and the contract.
After looking them over, he saw that the designs were largely the same as the ones Little Barry had shown him before, though there were some stylistic differences.
As for the contract, the wall of fine print was enough to give him a headache.
’Little Barry already went over it, so there shouldn’t be any major issues.’
Just then, the crisp sound of high heels clicking on the floor grew louder as they approached.
Everyone turned to look.
They saw a brown-haired woman carrying a file folder walking toward their table.
The woman exuded the aura of a corporate elite, her makeup light and meticulously applied.
A pair of rimless glasses rested perfectly on the bridge of her nose, adding to her intellectual air.
A blue silk ribbon was tied around her neck, a splash of vibrant color that complemented her tailored skirt suit. The outfit perfectly accentuated her stunning curves.
Based on looks alone, she was undoubtedly a very beautiful woman.
However, the cold, distant expression on her face was like an invisible layer of frost, making her seem unapproachable and detracting somewhat from her overall impression.
The woman walked straight to their table, gave a slight nod, and spoke in a flat, clear voice.
"Boss!"
Her calm gaze then fell upon Feng Mountain, betraying no hint of emotion.
It was as if nothing in her surroundings could faze her.
"And you are?"
Feng Mountain studied the woman who had appeared out of nowhere.
’Her face, the contours of her features... she does look a little familiar. But no matter how hard I rack my brain, I can’t place where I’ve seen her before. There’s no one like her at the camp. Could she have come with Old Tom? But from the look on his face, he doesn’t seem to know her either.’
Old Tom and Little Barry, for their part, looked completely baffled.
After all, Crown Territory was a small place.
