"…"
The first reaction upon seeing the status of Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi was complete silence from everyone.
The one to break the silence first was Athena.
"Huh? Are my eyes playing tricks on me or something? It looks like there’s a skill at level 10 among their initial skills, aside from the ones we got from Dad…"
"And they even have titles… This is completely different from our case…"
Cardina and the others had raised their skill levels by traversing dungeons.
However, their two youngest sisters seemed to mock their efforts, possessing high skill levels from the very start.
"It really makes a difference whether you start with a level 10 body or a level 17 body, doesn’t it?"
"It seems pretty clear that their initial state at installation affects this."
"But it looks like they don’t have any Spirit Division skills. I had a hunch that might be the case when they were created."
"That’s probably because, in addition to the body’s level, a minimum of level 50 is required for those."
"Even without those, their level 1 stats are far from ordinary, so they’re definitely viable in combat."
With their initial impressions shared, they began to examine the details more closely.
"The skills Low Output Body, Normal Output Body, and High Output Body seem to be about adjusting their operational levels. Low Output Body allows them to function with minimal magic consumption, Normal Output Body is for standard operation, and High Output Body is a full-power mode. It consumes a lot of magic power, but their performance spikes significantly."
"Instead of something like Child Form or True Form, they got skills like these, huh?"
"Think of it like standby mode, active mode, and high-performance mode."
Next, they turned their attention to Dragon’s Breath Lv. 10 and Dragon Telekinesis Lv. 5.
"Dragon’s Breath releases Dragon Force from the mouth to obliterate enemies—a sort of diffused version of Jeanne’s Dragon Power Convergence Cannon. It’s less powerful but can attack a wide area. And Dragon Telekinesis is powerful telekinesis, allowing them to move or levitate objects without touching them."
"I’ve seen ‘Breath’ skills before, but this one doesn’t seem tied to any specific element.
If you mix it with Fire Magic, you could probably turn it into a fire breath attack."
"To be precise, it’d be Fire Magic + Dragon’s Breath, so the power would likely be higher than just fire alone."
"That sounds interesting. Nana mentioned that Dragon Telekinesis can levitate objects, but what can it do in combat?"
As Nana casually asked, Amaterasu communicated its intent to Tatsuro.
"Hm? Oh, you can do that too? Alright, show me."
"Ooh, what’s it gonna do?"
Tatsuro readied the Rifle Staff imbued with Amaterasu and channeled Light Magic into it.
The eight claw-like prongs, resembling umbrella ribs at the staff’s rear, began to move.
With a metallic clank, they detached from the core, extending thin wires and floating in all directions.
Using Tatsuro’s Light Magic, the tips of the claws emitted laser beams made of pure light.
"Like a Gndam! A Gndam!"
"Don’t say Gndam! And if you’re going to make a comparison, it’s more like Funnels, not Gndam. Anyway, Leah, you knew it could do this?"
"Yes. I thoroughly examined it from the start, so I knew its full skill set. That’s why I designed the staff to detach for direct attacks. The wires connected to the core allow all eight claws to perform calculations with the Magic Brain, enabling them to split magic and fire it independently from all directions."
"So, when you need raw power, you use it as a single staff, but when you need multiple precise attacks, you can disperse them with the staff tip and eight claws."
"Exactly. And while it’s tricky with Tsukuyomi around, you could also use the claws like hooks to tear apart enemies that get too close."
As they spoke, the light lasers fired from the claws, controlled by Amaterasu’s Dragon Telekinesis, ceased, and the claws reattached to their original positions.
"By the way, is there a range limit to Dragon Telekinesis? If it can move anything in their field of vision, that’d be incredibly useful."
"The range seems to depend on the skill level. At level 5, Dragon Telekinesis is limited to a 5-meter diameter centered on the user."
"So the level equals the effect range, essentially."
"Got it. Let’s move on to Offensive Enhancement next."
They turned their attention to the final unfamiliar skill in Amaterasu’s arsenal.
"This seems to be a skill that boosts all offensive actions."
"So, conversely, Tsukuyomi’s Defensive Enhancement must boost all defensive actions."
As if to confirm, the core of Tsukuyomi, fixed to the left inner chest of Tatsuro’s coat, blinked brightly.
"Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi are perfect opposites in offense and defense. Dragon’s Breath is clearly offensive, while Dragon Barrier and Dragon Reflection are straight-up defensive."
"Right. Dragon Barrier deploys a wall using Dragon Force, similar to the Ki shield my armor can create. And Dragon Reflection seems to reflect anything that touches it back at the opponent while the skill is active."
"Kind of like my Reflection skill from Fan Arts?"
"Your version relies on technique to deflect, but Dragon Reflection just bounces things back, ignoring physical laws entirely."
"That’s cheating!"
"But there’s a catch. If the force of the attack—let’s call it reflective power—exceeds what Dragon Reflection can handle, it gets nullified, and you just waste Dragon Force without any effect. It’s not very versatile."
"I see."
With Ai’s Reflection skill, derived from Fan Arts, she can redirect attacks even if they’re too strong to fully reflect, or parry them like the Parry skill from Shield Art, adjusting based on the situation.
However, with Dragon Reflection, if the attack exceeds its reflective capacity, it’s forcibly nullified, and the attack passes through unhindered.
"We should test how strong an attack it can reflect."
"But in Tsukuyomi’s case, if you ignore the consumption of Dragon Reflection, you can combine it with Dragon Barrier."
"You mean… Add a reflection effect to a wall made of Dragon Force, so weaker attacks get reflected back, and stronger ones are blocked by the barrier?"
"Exactly, Nana."
Weak attacks would be repelled, strong ones would be blocked by the wall, and even if they broke through, their power would be diminished.
If combined with other magic to solidify their defense, breaking through would be incredibly tough.
"And it’s got solid counterattack capabilities too."
To demonstrate, Tsukuyomi manipulated Secom-kun, deploying water orbs connected by thin water tubes, resembling the thunder drums carried by a thunder god, from Tatsuro’s coat.
From these multiple water orbs, slime-like tentacles extended, forming hand shapes at the tips and reaching out to shake everyone’s hands.
Since there were enough hands for everyone, including Tatsuro, they all joined in enthusiastically. The texture was soft and smooth, like moist skin.
"—Hm? Got it, I understand."
"What’s up, Tatsuro?"
"Looks like he wants to try something else. Just watch."
After the handshake, the tentacles retracted into the water orbs, and Tsukuyomi immediately communicated its next idea to Tatsuro through his glove.
With no reason to object, Tatsuro complied, pulling an iron ingot from Infinite Item Field and tossing it lightly into the air.
As the ingot began to fall under gravity, multiple tentacles shot out from the water orbs on Tatsuro’s back, attacking it.
The first tentacle hardened its tip with Ice Magic, carving spiral grooves and spinning rapidly. It struck the ingot, drilling into it with a high-pitched kyuiiiiin sound, like a drill.
The second tentacle transformed into a blade thinner than paper, slicing the ingot vertically with a clean snap.
The third and fourth tentacles hardened their tips into hammer shapes with Ice Magic, pounding the ingot from both sides.
The fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth tentacles formed human-like hands, grabbing the now-split ingot, twisting and reshaping it.
Finally, tossing the mangled ingot into the air again, all the tentacles transformed into hundreds of thin, rope-like strands, their tips coated in ice and spinning like drills.
They attacked the ingot in unison, riddling it with holes like a honeycomb, accompanied by a dentist-drill-like kyuiiiiin sound. Two water hands caught the remains and handed them to Tatsuro before the tentacles returned to the water orbs.
"Power, speed, adaptability—Secom-kun’s grown leaps and bounds beyond what it could do before."
"Drills, knives, hammers. Its slime body could always change shape, but its attacks were limited to turning into spikes to stab or rounding the tips to bludgeon."
"The higher level of Water Magic has boosted Secom-kun’s mobility, and with Tsukuyomi’s power combined, it can perform calculations with Magic Brain. Even at level 1, their thought speed and magic control are exceptional."
"With this, even Tatsuro could probably take on martial artists in a one-on-one and win easily."
"With Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, it’s debatable if it’s even a one-on-one anymore.
But there’s no doubt our combat strength has been massively boosted."
Having finished checking the skills and performance, they investigated Dragon Breath Incarnate and Dragon Wall Incarnate. Both had the same effects: Dragon Force +100, Magic Power +100, significant reduction in Dragon Force consumption, and increased control.
"The reduction in Dragon Force consumption is a big help. We can spam Dragon’s Breath or Dragon Barrier."
"Yeah, since Amaterasu-chan and Tsukuyomi-chan are still level 1, generating Dragon Force must be tough."
"But they’re already like extensions of big brother, right? Since big brother has a ton of Dragon Force, he can authorize Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi to use it or channel it directly to them for consumption. As dragon species born with Dragon Force, they should be able to use it almost like Magic Power."
"That’s great to hear. That makes it clear how I can use my Dragon Force."
Tatsuro had amassed a large amount of Dragon Force from Dragon Meat, but as a human, he found it difficult to wield directly. Converting it to Magic Power or mixing it was more practical, though cumbersome.
Since leaving the dungeon, he hadn’t encountered anything requiring Dragon Force, so it had gone unused.
But now, by passing it to Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, they could use it freely.
Excited by this unexpected utility, Tatsuro was eager to test it.
"Hey, everyone. I want to head outside and test our full power. What do you think?"
"Sounds good. If we don’t know our full strength, it could be dangerous for us in a pinch."
With Amaterasu’s assistance, Tatsuro might not exceed his expectations as much anymore.
Still, knowing his limits was important to avoid unnecessary destruction in critical moments.
While part of him just wanted to test it out, this reasoning also underpinned his suggestion.
Since Cardina and the others were also curious, they decided to leave town discreetly to avoid Aarenfrit’s notice, riding on Jeanne’s back to a secluded area.
