Chapter 12: Rebirth Pill

His breathing was heavy, he forced himself to calm down and finally concentrate.

"Another shitty dream," he scratched the side of his head and got up on his feet, walking over to his chair. He sat down and faced the monitor.

It was twelve midnight, which meant his appraisal had recharged and now he could actually check on what to invest in.

He pulled up the stock market and immediately turned on appraisal. He wanted something that was a bit expensive and also something that was pretty low, having the two meant he could join a big company and he could also get stocks in a small rising one where he could have a lot of say in what happens there.

The good thing about his appraisal was the fact that it would keep going until he turned it off, and that meant he could check out more than a few stocks.

He was planning on investing in a total of five stocks and he had budgeted well over two hundred thousand. It would leave him with only three hundred thousand in his bank, but he was sure he would get it all back pretty soon anyway.

He began scanning the market, but it seemed that his luck was not the best today. The best four investments that he saw were three major companies and one smaller one that would have their stocks double in price in the following days.

Their success rates were all ninety percent and above. That meant it would surely work out, but he would only be getting a two times return, nothing as great as Viper.

"I guess I can’t be lucky all the time." He said and palmed his face.

If anyone knew that Leon was getting angry at the fact that he would be getting double returns from his investment and he was mad at it, they would beat the hell out of him.

"I need a better setup to ensure I have more connections to all the possible investments, maybe a few for crypto, a few other things like buying actual goods that would sell, anything that would be a good investment."

He leaned back into his chair as he thought about it. When he saw Kate again, he would make sure that he got the best system possible. For now, he had to get the ones that he could get.

He clicked on the first one, the best one that was available. He transferred two hundred thousand credits into the system as his investment credits so that the system could register it, and when it was done, he transferred it into his stocks account and invested it.

The rewards for it were similar to that of Tundra. He invested in it with twenty-five thousand credits and moved to the next.

It was another hunter organization, but it was a pretty large one, so he could only buy one percent of the shares with fifty thousand credits total.

The fourth was actually one that he did not expect and found rather shocking. It was X-Force. Their stocks were set to double and he chose to invest in it, but he only used twenty-five thousand, and that was barely a dent into the company’s shares, but to him it was quite a bit.

"That’s four done, nothing special today, I guess," he muttered and leaned back after investing everything that he had prepared.

He refused to use the appraisal the second time because he had a plan for it, the same plan he had for Sophia. He wanted to find someone to invest in, build his own team of Hunters that were really good.

Not long after, he fell asleep on his chair.

When the sun rose the next day, Leon was already up and ready. He had on the platinum star suit and put on his usual hoodie and pants.

He was about to step out, but the system suddenly rang out:

"What the?" He was confused. Why did he not get the messages yesterday and what were these rewards?

He looked at the low level rebirth pill and before he could even try to read the details of it, the pill appeared in his hand, a golden pill that swirled with so much energy.

That was the entire description. Leon read it and for some reason he was extremely tempted to take it.

Kate would be coming here by nine and it was only a few minutes after seven. He wanted to leave and have some breakfast before that time, but now the plans might have changed a bit. He looked at the pill for an extended amount of time.

He was worried and rightfully so because there was no telling what would really happen when he took it. But this was the system, the same system that had helped him get rich in days. He had to trust that it would only help him get better.

He took a very deep breath.

"Please don’t kill me," he muttered before tossing the pill into his mouth and swallowing it. A few seconds passed and nothing happened, but then suddenly a powerful burning sensation rushed through his body, it came with so much pain that he collapsed to the ground.
