The car pulled up to the house. Calling it a house was pretty wrong, though. It could be classified as a modern-day mansion. The gates opened automatically and allowed the car to drive in. Leon could only stare, wondering how deep someone’s pockets had to be to afford this massive place.

The car pulled up in front of the house. He stared at the white marble walls for a few seconds before a butler in a full suit walked to the car and opened the door. Leon stepped out, and the butler gave a bow.

"Welcome, Mr. Leon. The lady is waiting for you. Right this way." The butler shut the door and led the way inside the house. Leon had been stunned by the massive compound and beautiful scenery, but when he stepped in, everything changed. It was as if the beauty had doubled immediately.

The inside was clean. Everything was well placed and looked like it cost a lot. And even with it being this way, it still managed to look like a home rather than a house. It was cosy and nice.

The butler led him up the stairs, down a hallway, and into a lounge that was situated at the edge of the house, opening onto a large balcony as well.

"Please have a seat. She will be with you soon. Is there anything you’d like to have?" the butler asked.

"No, I’m good," Leon replied. The butler gave a nod and then walked out. Leon proceeded to sit down in one of the most comfortable chairs he had ever sat in. The only time he had ever felt this kind of luxury was when he was with his father.

As the thought of his father filled his mind, he shook his head to clear it.

"Focus, that’s not why we are here now."

The door of the room opened a few seconds later. Kate walked in with a purple sleeping gown on, one that, despite covering nearly everything from her knees up, did very little to hide her stunning figure. Every step she took could be classified as a murder attempt. She had on a face mask, and her hair was tied into a bun.

In one hand was an iPad and in the other was a cup of coffee.

Leon was left staring as she walked in and sat down on the chair right opposite him. She crossed her legs and placed the iPad down before taking a sip of her coffee and then placing it down on a coaster.

She looked at Leon.

"You are looking for a new place, right?" she asked, picking up the iPad again. She immediately started tapping away.

"Yeah, pretty much," Leon replied.

"Hmm, what’s your budget, and are you looking to rent or buy?" she asked.

"Uhm, let’s go with rent. I don’t want to buy one yet, and even if I wanted to, I don’t have the money for the type I’d want," Leon explained.

She paused and then looked at him for a few seconds before she kept tapping away.

"Fine then, what are you looking for exactly?" she asked.

"Okay, something that’s isolated somehow, maybe in some high location, or a place that only select people go. The kind of place where the people around won’t mind who you are or what you do at all?"

She stopped and looked at him again. "There are only two reasons for you to want something like that. You are either someone who doesn’t like mixing with people, or you are a criminal on the run," she said while looking at him.

Leon froze for a moment as their gazes met, then she suddenly kept tapping on her screen. "But for you, it’s simply wanting to be away from people," she said.

Silva heaved a sigh of relief internally, but he still wanted to know why she thought that way, so he asked.

"Why did you think I wasn’t doing anything illegal?" he asked.

She looked at him and then she smiled. "You have the potential to do it, but you won’t," she said and kept tapping. She felt his gaze on her, so she proceeded to explain a bit more. "You are smart, and I can see a cunning look behind your eyes, but honestly, using it for something illegal will be the last thing you use it for."

After that, she did not explain anymore. She simply focused on what she was doing, and after close to ten minutes of sending messages and making requests to her contacts, she found the right place. She placed it on the table for him to see.

There was a penthouse from one of her contacts that was available, and it was going for fifty thousand a month.

"It’s pretty expensive, but no one will question you there. It’s on the fifth floor from the top, which is the cheapest among all five, but it still gives you what you want."

Leon picked up the iPad and began checking out the apartment. Everything seemed okay and well managed.

"Alright, I’ll check it out then."

"Not today, though. I have a line of meetings waiting for me," Kate said and leaned back into her chair.

"Yeah, I had some engagements today as well. Let’s do it Monday. I can’t do Saturday because my sister is coming over," he explained.

"Alright then, Monday it is. I’ll come pick you up."

"Alright then, I guess that’s all," he said.

"Not quite," she said and took the iPad from him. "There is something else. You see, there is a new gate that has opened, and it’s a really weird, looming gate that even the guild is unsure of, and they want to gather as many resources as they can to ensure that the raid is great.

But many big people are backing out because the returns might not be great, and that’s really not good. I actually believe that it’s a good investment, and so I wanted to ask if you are willing to take it and what you think about it."
