Leveling Up With My Investment System
Chapter 26: New Investement Plans
Leon pulled the iPad to himself and looked at the screen. He saw the gate and the details of it from what they had gathered.
"The guild is taking the responsibility to fund half of everything. The other half is open, and they are looking for close to fifty credits for that half.
Personally, I want to use five million to invest in it. I have a good feeling about it, and I am sure that it will bring some reasonable goods for us. You can choose to opt out or invest a bit. It does not have to be anything crazy," she explained to him properly.
Leon stared at the screen. He activated appraisal without hesitation.
[S-ranked Gate Investment: Percentage of success: 98%. Potential returns: 5x. You are advised to take this investment.]
When he saw the number 5x and a high percentage of success, he immediately knew that he had been given a gold mine.
’It’s S-ranked. They didn’t mention that, though. Maybe they haven’t gotten to know its rank yet.’ He placed the iPad on the table and looked at Kate.
"When is the latest I can invest in this?" he asked.
"Well, whenever the slot is open, but I do fear that it will be closed soon because even though no one has an interest in it, there are still people who want it."
The moment she said that, he froze with worry. If someone got it before him, they would be enjoying the fivefold increase.
’Shit, I need to do something somehow.’
He looked at Kate, heaved a sigh, and then spoke. "I want to invest ten million, and I can get the money to you next week," he stated in a calm manner.
"Ten million? Do you really believe that it is worth it?" she asked, a curious look forming on her face.
"I’ll assure you of this, and if what I say fails, then you can have me as your slave to pay you all my life.
This will be an amazing investment, and the returns will shock you. I need you to trust me on this and know that it will be something you don’t want to miss at all," he explained to her.
She stared at him for a bit. He had never acted that way before, so seeing him speak like that made her focus.
"Hmm, you seem so sure."
"I can bet everything that I have on it," he stated.
"I only showed you the gate just a moment ago, yet you seem so sure of it," she said.
"I know, but you’ll have to trust me with this. I cannot explain the means by which I have come to know that this will be great, but I can assure you that it will be great, and all you have to do is trust me."
She stared at Leon for a few solid seconds, then she sipped her coffee and placed it down.
"Sigh, fine then," she said. "I’ll pay twenty million for it, personally ten million and ten million under your name. You will sign the contract and all, and when you get the money, you will pay me back.
I should warn you, though. No one plays me or plays with my money, so you better pay up when the time comes." Her eyes were sharp, and they penetrated right into Leon’s heart. He swallowed saliva and forced a smile.
"You have my word," he managed to say.
"Great," she said. Her face changed into a soft smile, and she leaned back with happiness.
"I guess that’s all for now. I’ll be leaving now," Leon said.
She nodded. "I’ll get everything to you to sign so you know what’s happening."
Leon walked out of the door and immediately heaved a massive sigh of relief.
"She is terrifying," Shadow said, popping up beside Leon.
"Yeah, she is," Leon replied. Despite how Kate was nice to him and helped him when he needed it, she was still a major businessperson who dealt with all sorts of people daily. She had to be cold and powerful to do that.
Leon walked out, and the driver was waiting there for him. Leon got into the car, and the man drove him out, but Leon told him to head to the café rather than take him back home. He checked his phone, and it was already getting close to eleven. He had to go and prepare the contracts for the two hunters.
The driver did what he asked and dropped him off there. Leon moved to find a printer and get his work started. Half an hour later, he got back and headed into the café. He found a table close to the window and sat down there while going through the contract that he had crafted.
"They benefit all through. They will find it suspicious," Shadow said.
"I know," Leon replied. "They will find it very weird that I am serious about doing it this way, but as time goes along, they will find out that I was serious, and then their trust and belief in me will skyrocket," Leon explained.
"Seems like you have a head in that dome of yours," Shadow said.
"Are you not meant to help me? Why do you keep attacking me?" Leon asked.
"Honestly, I do not know. I’d lay my life down for you, but when we are in times of peace, I’ll be a pain in your butt," Shadow said.
A few seconds later, the door opened, and the two walked in.
