Leveling Up With My Investment System
Chapter 31: Oh Shit
Leon woke up to the sun rays seeping through the window. He felt a weight on his arm, and when he turned, he saw Sophia sleeping right next to him. He could not help but smile at the scene. Last night had been one word, and that was awesome.
’I can’t believe we did that. Damn, yesterday went far better than I could have ever hoped for.’
"You are awake?" Sophia asked. She turned her head to look at him with a soft smile on her face.
"Good morning."
"Good morning," Leon replied.
She yawned and raised herself into a sitting position. "I guess we went a bit wild last night."
"Yeah," Leon replied nervously and scratched the back of his head.
She then turned and looked at him. "But it was fun," she said and then leaned in for a peck. She got up from the bed. "I’ll be using your bathroom and toilet." She walked towards it while Leon simply stared at her walk.
When she was inside the bathroom, Leon kicked his legs into the air in excitement.
"Calm down, player," Shadow popped up. "All you have done is get her in bed. Now you’ve got to get her in your life, so you better start getting reasons to pop the question."
Leon stared at Shadow for a few seconds, the kind of look you gave to someone who somehow found a way to ruin the mood no matter what.
"Do you derive joy from sucking away all the happiness I have?" Leon asked.
"Nah, maybe, whatever, just get ready to ask her," Shadow said.
Leon rolled his eyes and got to his feet.
’Sophia isn’t dumb. I am sure that she knows I have a lot to hide. The issue is, how much am I willing to share in order to keep her? She will not be okay with a story without substance.’
He pondered it for a few minutes until she walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her chest, and she was using a smaller one to clean her hair.
She looked at him standing there and then smiled at him. "Is something wrong?" she asked.
"No, no, you look beautiful, that’s all," he said. She blushed a bit. He was about to turn around, but then he gritted his teeth and took a deep breath.
"I know there is a lot about me that does not make sense, and I want to tell you about it all, but before I can do that, I need to know, what are we?
I know that’s a crazy question to ask after last night, but I simply want to know if we are dating now or if this was a one-time thing. Don’t get me wrong, I want us to be dating, and it will hurt quite a bit if we are not," Leon said. He said everything fast and in a single breath, as if he would lose what he had to say if he stopped.
She looked at him for a few seconds with a stern face, then suddenly, she burst into laughter, grabbing her stomach and laughing very hard.
"Damn, is the idea of you guys dating that bad?" Shadow asked as he watched.
She stopped herself. "I’m sorry, so sorry. It’s just, you thought you could do this once and leave?" she asked.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Leon asked.
"Listen, if you try to even leave after last night, I’ll hunt you down and make sure that I tie you up somewhere," she said with a bright smile on her face, but her eyes told him that she was dead serious.
"Oh shit." Shadow vanished into the ground. Leon stood there, watching in shock and confusion as to what was happening right now.
"There is no walking away. You are my boyfriend now," she said and gave another smile. "You fit me so well that it would be extremely hurtful if I had to lose you at all." She said and then walked to get dressed.
"Uhm, what if we don’t work out?" Leon asked.
"We will," she replied without thought.
’Okay, now I’m worried whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, but then again, I wanted to date her, so it’s pretty good. Sure, she might be a tad bit crazier than I expected, but who the hell does not want a bit of crazy?’
"Then it’s settled. We are dating," Leon said and walked to his gaming chair. He sat down and faced her.
"Since that’s the case, I should explain a few things to you. I am an investor who has investments in many companies, with a few of them running in the millions." She looked at him when she heard that. She was obviously shocked by that information.
"I also invest a lot in a few hunters to make them grow stronger and better. I was wondering, since we are dating now, I’d like to be your sponsor, no strings attached to that," he explained, trying to make her understand that he did not choose to date her because he wanted to invest in her.
She turned around and looked right at him. She was already fully dressed.
"You have a lot of secrets, Leon." She walked over to him. "But I’m willing to wait for you to tell me all of them, and also, yes, I’d really like that." She broke into a childish smile towards the end and even leaped up for joy.
"I’ve been stuck for so damn long, and I’ve wanted to get the resources to grow stronger and fight monsters. It has been so freaking hard," she continued.
"Well, I guess now you can chase that dream," he replied.
She smiled and proceeded to sit on his lap, her head coming forward for a kiss.
KNOCK KNOCK
A knock came from the door and interrupted them. Leon got to his feet and walked over. He opened the door and immediately froze.
"Oh shit."
