Leon stood inside his new workroom. The best computers in the world were set up all around like a full trade center. He stared at it from the door.

"What’s on your mind?" Shadow asked.

"The only reason the puppeteer was able to get me into this situation is because I was not powerful enough." Leon said. He palmed his face and dragged it down.

"If I had enough strength, I would have been able to get out of it with everyone as well."

"It’s been two days. I guess it’s still heavy on you."

"Yes, it is." Leon replied. He looked at Shadow. "We need money, more money. Investing the money that I have will not be nearly enough. The returns from the gate are yet to flow in, and I’m not selling my shares from any of my major investments."

"So how do you plan to get more?" Shadow asked.

"The core, the one I had you store. I did some research, and it had been stated that very few have ever been secured from the gate.

Most times, they are destroyed due to the change of environment, especially when the hunters don’t have the equipment. Only one out of twenty attempted removals works, but we have managed to get a golem core from the gates, and we have it stored.

Not only that, we have one from an S-ranked gate. It’s safe to say that it’s easily worth tens of millions." Leon said with a smile on his face.

"Ahh? So you want to sell it? I had a feeling you would want to keep it for yourself." Shadow said.

"If this was before, when I believed I could be calm with things, I would have, but the situation now is vastly different," he explained and then pulled out his phone. He dialed Kate’s number.

"Hello?"

"I have something that might be of interest to you. I want to sell it, and you can gain a cut from it as well," Leon said.

"Hmm? That sounds interesting. Let me hear it."

"A golem underground core that I found in the gate and managed to secure and contain."

"Wait, what?" She asked. The tone of her voice changed when it got to this point. It was clear that she had not been expecting something like that at all. "Do you really have a contained core?" she asked.

"Yes, I do," he replied.

"Wait for me. I’ll be at your place soon."

"Alright."

He cut the call and placed the phone down.

"She seemed hyped about it," Shadow said.

"Yes, and that’s good," Leon said and walked to the gaming chair that was there. He sat down and cracked his knuckles.

"But before she comes over, let’s make some investments for the day." He popped his neck and immediately went into every investment platform that was there and then turned on appraisal.

Now he could see more, now that he had many screens open, and all he had to do was pick from the ones that he needed.

Right now, he did not need any special investment, but if he found one, he would be taking it for sure.

[Romeo Construction Agency: 3x Returns in 48 hours. 300 Credits per share. Available Shares 10,000/100,000. Success rate 98%. Advised to invest]

[Successful Investment Rewards: 10x cashback on investment gains. 10x SP on investment gains. 50 EXP]

"Hmm, the company is selling ten percent of its shares, and the ten percent is still available."

Leon thought about purchasing all ten thousand, but that would cost him three million credits, and he did not have that money for one investment.

"Tch, limited by money again." He decided to go with one thousand shares, which was one percent of the company, but it cost three hundred thousand credits. The base returns would be nine hundred in two days, so he had no issues with that.

He made the investment and was already onto the next in a few seconds. He rushed through investments after investments and ended up making three 3x investments after the construction company.

They cost 100,000 for five hundred shares, 250,000 for ten in a small company, and the biggest that he made was 350,000 in a massive company.

He was still eager to make more investments, but the doorbell rang.

"Seems she is here already," Shadow said.

"That was way too fast. Is the core really that precious?" Leon asked as he got up. He walked out and, without as much as a thought, opened the door because she was the only one that he was expecting and the only one that knew where he lived.

Only for someone to thrust a blade right at his gut the moment the door was open. Leon watched in slow motion as it hit his guts, unable to get through due to his bodysuit and the fact that Shadow could create a thin layer of shadow under his shirt in an instant.

Leon looked at the hand and immediately his instincts kicked in. He grabbed it and pulled with all his strength, hurling the figure in and across the floor.

The assassin was not alone, as a second rushed in from nowhere with a full-on katana in his hand and immediately went for a swing. Leon dodged the attack and got clear of the second man as well. Now he was at the door, and the two were inside.

Leon used his leg to kick the door closed, and the shadow locked it.

"It seems someone is out to have me killed," he said and then pointed at the two of them.

"You are going to tell me who."

The assassins looked at each other and then at Leon. They charged in at the same time, hoping to overpower him, but Leon was not having this today. He did not even want to wait for them to showcase the full extent of their abilities. Two shadow tendrils shot from the ground and wrapped around them, slamming them hard into the ground. It caused a loud noise.
