Leveling Up With My Investment System
Chapter 52: Torture
The impact knocked the air out of both assassins and sent a wave of pain rushing through their bodies.
"Tch, if you wanted to kill me, you could at least have some level of skill," Leon said. He walked past them, and Shadow dragged both of them behind him with his shadow wrapped around them fully.
He pulled them into his workroom and tossed them to the side. He pulled his chair closer, shut the door, and faced them as he sat down.
"Listen, I’ll not waste your time. You will be able to leave this place if you tell me everything that I want to know, and I know that you already know what it is."
Both assassins groaned in pain and finally started getting up. They stared at Leon, who was sitting there with a soft smile on his face.
"I’ll not waste time trying to go back and forth with you about the person that sent you. I’ll go right to the torture and then wait for you to tell me."
"Screw you. Tch," one of the men spat in anger. He was a professional. There was no way that he was going to rat out the person that had sent him here.
"Fine by me," Leon said. He raised his hand and snapped his fingers. "Right hand."
In an instant, a shadow wrapped around the right hand of the man, and then the shadow space closed, cutting the right hand clean off. Blood dropped into the shadow, and the hand was fully gone.
The assassin looked at his hand. His eyes widened, and his face went deathly pale.
"Ah, ahh, ahhhhhhhh!" His scream came from his guts, loud and without end. His veins bulged, he collapsed to the ground, and kept screaming.
"You know the good thing about today?" Leon asked and smiled. "Everyone went out to hunt in the gates, and I am the only one around in this building with extremely reinforced parts.
Your screams are not leaving this room. You will feel all the agony and all the pain right here, and you’ll cry out your heart until you pass out right here on this floor, wake up, and continue the pain."
As he spoke, he did not stutter once. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he was doing it well.
The second assassin, who was younger, looked at Leon with a renewed sense of dread. His body started shaking, and he got on his knees.
"I’ll speak. I promise you I’ll say everything."
"Shut up!" the first assassin yelled through his pain. "We can’t reveal anything. We die before we speak. Do not forget your train..."
Slash!
His left leg was gone in an instant before he could finish what he was trying to say.
Leon sat there with an evil grin on his face at this point. The first assassin was in a state of shock where he could not even blink or do anything.
The second assassin went pale. He stared at the leg that was gone.
"You have two limbs before you become just an abdomen, and when that happens, I’ll have to start getting more creative with what I do.
I’ll have to use my shadow to consume your kidneys, liver, stomach, feet, soon your lungs, and then your heart at the end. There are limited resources and a very quickly running-down time."
Leon explained. He turned his eyes back to the second one.
"Can you imagine the pain that he is going through right now? You’ll be next if I don’t get the answers, and I’ll make sure that yours is ten times worse, so speak."
The younger assassin could not take it anymore. He was far too scared at this point, and without hesitation, he started speaking.
"We work for an A-ranked assassin, Sonic. He is our boss. He sent us here to scope out the environment, but we got carried away when we read your file and believed that we could handle it ourselves.
We used means to get past the receptionist and make it up here. As for how they got your address, I don’t know at all."
He blurted everything out as fast as he could.
"Sonic, huh? I guess I’ll look into it. Thank you," Leon said and got to his feet. He looked the assassin right in the eye.
"I guess you deserve a painless one, at least..."
As soon as he said that, a shadow blade came from behind and decapitated him cleanly. His body and head fell into the shadow space.
Leon turned to look at the first one, who was still groaning in pain.
"Tch." He snapped his fingers, and shadow tendrils grabbed him and started pulling the man apart.
The man yelled in pain as he felt his body begin to rip. Leon turned around and walked towards the door. Shadow would handle the rest.
When he stepped out, he heard the sound of ripping and a final scream.
"Well, that was something," Shadow said as he popped outside.
"I’ll not allow anyone to threaten my life at all," Leon replied.
The doorbell rang again, followed by a knock.
"Let’s hope it’s her this time."
Leon walked to the door and opened it. Outside was Kate and her assistant.
"That was fast," Leon said.
"There is no time to waste. I had my people prepare a containment unit for the core. I don’t know how you have stored it, but we need to get it to that place," she explained.
"Alright then, let’s go."
"Where is the core?" she asked.
"It’s with me, don’t worry," Leon said as he walked past her. The room door closed and locked on its own.
She stared at him, wondering if he was joking with her. But she had come to learn that he was worthy of her trust, so she said nothing and walked behind him.
They left the building, and a black SUV was waiting for them outside. The driver opened the door, and they got in.
