Life Game In Other World
Chapter 1876 - 1875: Slumbering Believers
The girl in the white dress sat on the edge of the bed, raised her head, and looked at the white-haired man, lowering her head, slightly silent.
"Little girl, do you want to leave?" The man looked at the silent girl, took off his coat, and said with a smile, "You just need to ’convince’ me."
His hand moved to his waist.
Seeing this scene, the girl in the white dress immediately stood up, seemingly well-prepared, and dashed towards the door.
However, the man seemed to have anticipated this, stretched out his hand directly, stopped her, grabbed her body, and threw her directly onto the wool carpet.
Bang——
"Great, great." The man said excitedly, gazing at the girl’s pitifully beautiful face, a few strands of black hair falling on her panicked little face, "Truly a good find for me."
Bang——
The girl looked at the man, still wanting to get up, but was pushed back down by the man.
The girl’s white skin turned slightly bruised due to the man’s rough actions.
The man’s hand pulled directly at her white dress.
Rip——
Accompanied by a crisp sound, a corner of the dress tore open.
The girl struggled, trying to get up.
The man sneered, pinned the girl’s hand with one hand, and raised his hand again.
Sizzle——
At that moment, his body jerked violently, then fell to the side.
The struggling girl looked blankly at the man falling down, and a somewhat strong body appeared in her field of view.
At this moment, the door behind the young man was unknowingly open, and he held an electric baton in his hand.
The young man glanced at the man on the ground, then turned his gaze to the girl lying on the ground as well, quickly asking, "Can you stand up?"
As he spoke, he thought for a moment, turned off the electric baton, and extended his hand.
The girl hesitated for a moment, then reached out, grabbed the electric baton, and was pulled up by the young man.
At this time, the young man also noticed the torn dress.
"Sorry." He immediately turned his head, facing away from the girl.
The girl seemed to notice this too, lowered her head, and quickly adjusted something.
"Okay."
A soft voice sounded behind Anke.
The voice was light, gentle, and clear, like the song of a forest elf in legend.
Anke turned his head to look at the girl.
The torn dress was tied by the girl, barely holding up.
This made the originally long dress become a slanted short skirt, revealing the girl’s smooth, shiny calves.
Faintly, the tied dress even had a touch of design, giving it a unique aesthetic.
Anke put away the electric baton, taking a deep breath.
The girl in front of him was the most beautiful he had seen in this building.
Just this plain dress, with an untouched face, overshadowed all the beauties in the building.
When he was leaning behind the pillar listening, Anke couldn’t hear clearly, and only now did he realize how beautiful this girl was.
Besides, the loose plain dress, although covering the entire curve, faintly showed the rise and fall of her figure.
This girl’s figure also seemed to be the best in this building.
Anke didn’t even dare to let his gaze linger on the girl for long.
He slightly averted his gaze, quickly asking, "Do you know where the elevator is? Can you leave by yourself?"
The girl lowered her head, slightly raised her gaze, glanced at Anke, and nodded.
"Then do you know where the thirty-fifth floor is?" Anke continued to ask.
The girl nodded again.
"Then tell me how to get to the thirty-fifth floor," Anke nodded, "Can you leave here by yourself?"
The girl raised her head, glanced at Anke, and then shook her head slightly.
Anke was stunned, realizing this girl was probably expecting him to escort her out.
He opened his mouth, preparing to say something, but then heard the girl say, "You won’t find the thirty-fifth floor, I’ll take you there."
"It’s very dangerous there," Anke quickly said.
"Leaving alone is also very dangerous," the girl replied softly.
Anke was stunned, looking at the girl in front of him, and finally nodded, "Okay, we’ll go to the thirty-fifth floor together."
The girl raised her head to look at him, then turned around and walked straight toward the door.
Anke followed directly.
The two figures quickly traversed this corridor. This artistic corridor was like a maze, with different scenes intertwining and repeating, yet without any regularity, and no particularly obvious mark points.
After walking for a while, Anke had already forgotten the path he came from.
He turned around and looked at the artistic buildings behind him, feeling both unfamiliar and familiar.
Only at this moment did he realize what the girl meant by ’you won’t find it.’
This maze-like corridor, without the guidance of someone from the inside, was indeed impossible to navigate.
He turned back to look at the girl in the white dress in front of him.
Since the girl started leading the way, she kept her head down, silently not speaking.
Anke could only quickly follow her.
Soon, they reached a classical-styled area, entirely constructed of stone and solid wood, looking somewhat similar to the building’s exterior.
Anke just prepared to continue moving forward when the girl in the white dress suddenly turned around, pulled him, and led him behind a wall.
Anke glanced at the girl in the white dress, only to see her raise her hand, making a ’shush’ gesture, and lowered her voice to quickly say, "Be careful, don’t move."
Thump thump thump——
Dense footsteps came from behind the wall, seemingly a group of people.
"Madam, is the sacrifice happening tonight?" A clear voice rang out among the group, "We can actually make use of so many people."
"That’s the order from above," a gentle and intellectual voice followed, "We just need to execute it."
This voice belonged to the beautiful lady.
Anke’s body was pressed tightly against the wall, holding his breath, his gaze slipping sideways to look at the girl in the white dress beside him.
The girl in the white dress was also tightly against the wall, her body tense, and her porcelain-like skin slightly blushing due to the tense muscles.
"Little girl, what, spring fever? Are there not enough men here for you?" Another slightly seductive voice interjected.
"I just want to make the most of it." The clear voice murmured at the beginning.
"Alright, don’t think about these things," the elegant woman’s voice followed immediately, "all we need to do is follow orders, let’s prepare first."
The footsteps of several people gradually receded.
And Anke mulled over the meaning of these words.
That beautiful woman is so terrifying, yet has a superior? How terrifying must that person be?
They said there would be a sacrifice tonight? Sacrificing what? Those ’K’ believers?
Is this really a cult?
Anke’s thoughts quickly shifted.
The beautiful girls in this building, the gentle encounters, gave him some enchanting fantasies. At this moment, these fantasies were dragged into reality.
He turned his head to look at the girl in the white dress beside him, "Where’s the 35th floor? We might need to hurry."
The girl in the white dress looked up at him, glanced once, then turned her gaze and quickly circled out from behind the wall.
Anke followed her footsteps and circled out.
A classical wooden staircase appeared in his field of view.
The girl in the white dress didn’t say a word, she walked straight toward the wooden staircase.
Anke immediately followed her.
Soon, they stepped onto the wooden staircase.
This staircase largely presents a spiral shape, looking up, the top of the staircase is not visible, only a faint purple mist.
Furthermore, it seems that this staircase has seen some age, stepping on it produces a creaking sound, causing Anke to unconsciously slow down his pace.
But the girl in the white dress seemed unaffected, she quickly ran upwards on the staircase.
Seeing this, Anke also ignored the staircase’s condition and accelerated to chase after the girl.
The old wooden staircase continued to creak, but showed no signs of damage.
Even when Anke stepped heavily on the staircase, it remained stable, without any signs of collapsing.
So are those sounds just some kind of accompaniment?
With some scattered thoughts, Anke continued to climb forward.
They were already nearing the top of this spiraling staircase.
In a vague sense, Anke felt like he had forgotten something, something seemed off in the surrounding environment, but he couldn’t put his finger on what he had forgotten.
But in the current state, he couldn’t afford to think much, the girl in the white dress was going fast, like a nimble bird flying between the stairs.
He had to speed up to keep up with the girl’s pace.
Soon, he stepped onto the last stair.
A huge loft with a sloped roof appeared in his field of view.
Anke had seen lofts in older buildings or villas on the internet.
However, those lofts clearly looked somewhat narrow, whereas the loft before Anke now was so spacious.
The distance from the top of the roof to the ground was probably twenty to thirty meters.
Huge trees supported the top of the loft, forming columns that supported it.
Thinner trees were horizontally tied to some columns, forming structures similar to the keel, while some wooden planks were laid over these horizontal keel-like structures.
These horizontal keels and wooden planks divided the loft into layers of ’shelves’.
These shelves were not connected into one piece but were like an exhibition area in a supermarket, divided into transverse and longitudinal corridors for people to walk through.
And arranged on these shelves were ’lying down’ people.
Anke walked to a shelf where a row of men of similar age was placed.
They lay on these shelves, seemingly lost in some pleasant dream, their lips curving in a faint arc of excitement and joy.
Then Anke walked to the other side, where middle-aged women of similar age were placed, their cheeks also bore some kind of ’happy’ smile.
Everyone here seemed to indulge in some blissful happiness.
Anke found a rather strong-looking man and reached out to pat his cheek, "Wake up."
But the man remained completely still.
Anke increased his strength, even reddened the man’s cheek, yet the man showed no signs of waking, his lips still held some kind of joyful smile.
"You can’t wake them," said the girl in the white dress, coming over and standing by Anke’s side, "they are lost in Divine Being’s blessing of a dream."
"A dream woven by the Divine Being’s blessing?" Anke murmured, slightly surprised, he looked up, glancing at the sprawling shelves, observing the densely arranged people on them, "Are they all in the dream?"
"Yes," the girl in the white dress nodded, "Madam said that there is no hunger or worry in the dream, they can achieve all the satisfaction unattainable in the human world."
"But," Anke looked somewhat bewildered at those figures, "they are about to die, those people were just discussing, aren’t they going to be sacrificed?"
"They will die in a happy dream," the girl in the white dress glanced at him and said softly, "Until the last moment, they will be happy."
"But they will die!" Anke realized the girl’s perspective seemed different from his, he whispered again.
"They would die outside too," the girl in the white dress glanced at him, "outside it’s a painful death, but within the dream, it’s a happy death, Madam said their desires would all be satisfied within the dream, they would live a life they dare not imagine in reality."
Anke froze.
He looked at the girl in the white dress, speechless for a moment.
He lowered his head, gazing at the packed figures lying on the shelves, whispering, "And what about their families?"
The girl in the white dress paused slightly, turned her head to look at Anke.
"At least let them make their own choice, right?" Anke looked at the girl in the white dress and smiled, "Whether to die as sacrifices in the dream or wake up to face the painful reality, at least others shouldn’t decide their life and death for them?"
The girl in the white dress turned her head again, printing an uncertain look on him, seemingly not fully understanding his words.
Anke didn’t continue but directly asked, "Do you know if there’s a place like a Central Control Room here? A place that can wake them all up?"
Since this building is located at the City Defense Army Command Center, the City Government of Ilotan is likely unreliable.
Of course, in the definition of the Federation, these people are believers of the Evil God ’K’, the Federation won’t protect them either.
The only effective method now is to wake them up, then find ways to help them leave on their own.
"You want to wake them up?" The girl in the white dress looked at Anke, "It’s very dangerous."
"But I want to try," Anke said softly, "The route here is quite easy to find, you can just tell me where it is, you can leave here by yourself first."
The girl in the white dress inclined her head and pondered, "Then I’ll take you."
With that, she turned directly around and walked toward the depths of this grand loft along the slender paths.
"Actually, you can leave first!" Anke called out softly.
But the girl in the white dress had already dashed out, he had to quickly follow her steps.
The two of them swiftly navigated between the paths, soon reaching a narrow little wooden house constructed in the loft.
The wooden house was very quiet, a short-haired woman wearing boots was sitting at the front door, cautiously observing the surroundings.
