Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster
Chapter 607 - 606: The Truth
Chapter 607: Chapter 606: The Truth
"What if she doesn’t? And this thing isn’t even cleared up yet. Grandpa randomly paired them as a couple, promising a marriage with The Lynch Family. What era is this, anyway? Where elders decide and arrange marriages haphazardly." At this moment, South Grant had no affection for Harold Foster.
Nathan Foster remained silent for a moment, then he stared at South Grant, making South feel a bit uneasy.
"If there’s something, just say it. Don’t just stare at me like that; it’s creepy."
"The four families seem to have reached some agreement, but they want to restrain each other, hence proposing the marriage of their children. I think someone is impatient and wants to unearth this treasure."
South thought back to the time before they returned to the country, with Nathan constantly busy, often locked in his study making phone calls or going out and coming back late. Was he investigating this matter all along? It turns out there were signs, even when they were overseas, of a storm brewing.
"Last time you mentioned, even if we gather all four treasure maps, we still need a descendant of the Eldest Princess and Imperial Grandson to unearth that treasure. Has the Imperial Grandson’s descendant been found now?"
Nathan looked at South with eyes full of wonder and then nodded.
Seeing Nathan nod, South was very surprised and asked, "Who is it, where are they?"
"You."
Nathan’s simple words left South stunned again.
At this moment, South was completely in a state of shock.
"Me?" South pointed at his own nose inquiringly.
"Yes, you." Nathan nodded affirmatively once more.
"Are you kidding? How could it be me? Are you saying a descendant from the Grant Family is the successor of the Imperial Grandson? But I heard from my mom before she disappeared that we’re not real children of the Grant Family." South, a bit confused, said hurriedly to Nathan.
"The Grant Family isn’t descended from the Imperial Grandson, but your biological father is."
The words "biological father" left South speechless. Now, she doesn’t even know who her biological father is, so how could others know?
Nathan, aware of South’s confusion, began to explain:
"As I mentioned before, to gain access to the treasure, your maternal grandfather would stop at nothing. Your mother was sent to a special training base since she was young. Later, when she went on missions, no one knew what the mission was. But I’ve uncovered it now."
"What?"
"Your maternal grandfather and Old Master Lynch discovered the Imperial Grandson’s descendants in Europe. They’ve built a massive family enterprise over generations, with hidden armed forces. Confronting them directly was impossible. So, your maternal grandfather conceived the idea of using a ’beauty trap.’ Your mother was that ’beauty.’ The goal was for her to bear that man’s child. However, the head of that family was very disciplined, making it impossible to approach. Thus, your mother joined their company, rising through the ranks to the position of CEO’s secretary to get close to her target."
At this moment, South felt like she was hearing a fairy tale; the truth she didn’t know turned out to be like this.
"But didn’t you say my mother got pregnant, came back, later aborted the child herself, and then caused a scene at Uncle Chester Lynch’s wedding, disappearing ever since? How could it be me?"
"The disruption at that wedding was because that man came to snatch the bride. The Lynch and Foster families were completely unprepared, and your mother was taken by him."
"But why did my mother become the Grant Family’s daughter-in-law later, with no memory of anything? What happened in between?"
Nathan spent two full years investigating this matter.
What he told South was the result of his two-year investigation. As for why Stella Foster later appeared in the Grant Family and was deeply in love with Ian Grant, forgetting everything before, even Nathan didn’t know.
