Chapter 641: Chapter 640: Strict Mountain Security

The next day, to avoid making South Grant and Stella worry, the two of them pretended everything was fine.

Early the next morning, South Grant’s phone rang.

It was Fiona Grant calling, which was unusual because she never called South Grant first; it was rare she took the initiative to call today.

"South Grant!" As soon as South answered, he heard Fiona’s voice, a mix of fear and anger.

South Grant didn’t know what got into him, and asked nonchalantly, "What’s up?"

"What’s with the road to your haunted villa, and why won’t these people let me pass down the mountain?" Fiona had driven there today, but when she tried to go up, the people at the foot of the mountain stopped her, warning they would be unkind if she took another step.

Normally, when South Grant went in and out with Nathan Foster, no one stopped him.

So, she didn’t know what was going on down the mountain.

At this point, South asked Nathan Foster, "Fiona wants to come in, but she’s being stopped down there."

Nathan Foster nodded to indicate he understood and then made a call.

It took about forty minutes before Fiona arrived.

There are several checkpoints on this mountain road, and without Nathan Foster’s permission, ordinary people really can’t get in.

This time, Fiona realized this place belonged to Nathan Foster and that South Grant was merely residing here. Those blocking her were clearly veterans with special skills.

Such individuals could only be assembled by Nathan Foster.

Even though he’s no longer in the military, he could easily regroup the special forces who used to serve under him.

Fiona couldn’t understand why Nathan Foster guarded this place so tightly, it’s just a place to live, after all.

Fiona knew that Nathan Foster was probably prejudiced against her because of South Grant, and if she asked him now, he wouldn’t tell her.

So, Fiona waited patiently until Nathan Foster left, and then she subtly probed while staying by Stella’s side.

Stella didn’t think much of it, assuming it was just a young woman’s curiosity.

Yesterday, she walked around the mountain; Nathan Foster had indeed set up tight security.

She used to manage the Eagle Squad under Harold Foster, so this was not unfamiliar to her.

Moreover, these arrangements were clearly long-standing, not set up overnight.

Stella didn’t ask further questions; so far, she hadn’t detected any malice from Nathan Foster toward her.

That day, Fiona took a walk with Stella outside because South Grant was dealing with follow-up work as the company acquisitions had started coming in, so he went to the office.

In the entire villa, there were only Seth, Stella, and Fiona.

Fiona accompanied Stella on the walk, with Seth tagging along.

Although Seth had been very introverted in recent years, his intelligence was exceptionally high. He had grasped all the knowledge that his peers were learning in school, but Vincent didn’t recommend him skipping grades or self-studying.

Because the reason for school was to let Seth familiarize himself with its environment.

And not for him to become a genius; getting familiar with the environment and adapting to his peers was his greatest help.

Seth didn’t go to school for a few days and stayed at the villa.

Now he followed Stella mainly because Fiona was around; others didn’t know, but Seth did know what this second sister had done.
