Limitless Summoner System

Chapter 102: The Cursed Eidolon

Bahamut and Asura watched the tournament closely with calm demeanors. The entire Land of Summoned Monsters was buzzing with hope for Tyler and his harem.

Long ago, before summoners or humans existed, Bahamut and Asura built the Land of Summoned Monsters after he and his sister Tiamat were in an epic battle that nearly cost them both of their lives. Tiamat disappeared, a goddess lost and never to be found by any of the others, including the almighty Zeus, who ruled over all of Paradise.

When the realm was created, Bahamut and Asura finally had their first child and named him Seraphim. He was a majestic phoenix who always stayed positive. When they found out they were having another child, Seraphim was excited. They were in a brand new realm filled with plenty of beasts but no other Eidolons like himself. Gaia was born and Leviathan followed shortly after.

Before long, the Land of Summoned monsters became a peaceful place filled with many beasts and several Eidolons. Zeus blessed Bahamut with several of his own Eidolon creations that filled the realm. Factions were formed and everyone fell under the peaceful rule of Bahamut and Asura.

Millions of years passed and humans finally emerged across several galaxies. Shortly after, vampires, werewolves, elves, demons and other races started filling up the planets across the various universes. Eventually, a special type of ability user came into existence. The summoner.

Eidolons were thrilled. At first, they were treated very kindly and loved by summoners. People viewed them as their closest friends and life was peaceful. That was until planets started going to war with one another for power. Once they realized there were different levels of beasts and different tiers of Eidolons, they wanted the power for themselves. They found out how powerful the crystal hearts were and beneficial they were to technology. They slaughtered Eidolons for profit and technological gains. ℯℯ𝘭.

Unable to intervene because he was a god, Bahamut entrusted his oldest son to try to solve the problem.

Unfortunately, summoners became so corrupted they eventually trapped the Eidolons. Seraphim was ordered to wipe out an entire planet by his host. Because he was not comfortable destroying an entire planet for the sake of their greed, he disobeyed his summoner and killed him. The gods and goddesses met with Zeus and a decision was made. Seraphim was cursed to be reborn with an incompetent host for eternity.

Over these years, he became bitter and eventually he stopped caring. He started to become a smartass. He cracked jokes, teased his hosts and baited them into making bad decisions when they abused him. That all changed when he found out about the Sanju clan. Seraphim wanted nothing more than a host who treated him like he used to be treated: like an equal and loved.

His mother came to him with an idea in secret. A system she built that could go to someone the gods chose to reincarnate that would at least give him a chance at being selected as a familiar.

"Wait?! You really did that mother? What about father? Wouldn’t he have to convince the gods?"

"He already has. He’s tried Seraphim so many times I’ve lost count but the system simply hasn’t selected the random number assigned to you," she said while hugging him.

"So there might come a time where I actually have a host that can break this curse and I can be free again?" He asked with optimism.

"Is that hope I see in my son’s eyes?" Bahamut said when he walked into the room.

"Yes dad! One day, we will break this curse and Eidolons will be free to come and go as we please, just like you originally built this place for!" He chirped cheerfully.

"The gods have allowed me to select another soul. I believe I have found the right person. You would have to go back to that wretched Orion Universe if by chance you were selected."

"You mean the one where I always end up dead quickly and with a complete moron for a host? LIke who the fuck can’t use fire magic with a phoenix?! How does this keep happening!"

"Because you’re cursed, son. I truly believe this will be the young man that saves us all." Bahamut said with an eager grin.

"Wait, can’t they hear us right now?" Seraphim panicked.

"No, they cannot. Your mother created a special spell for us to talk without the gods hearing. As long as we don’t abuse it, we will be able to sneak a conversation in." Bahamut whispered while Asura grabbed his arm.

"Well dad, who is it?"

"A human from Earth who just passed away in 2026."

"Not Earth... please not Earth ANYWHERE but there," Seraphim pleaded.

"Just trust your father and everything will work out, ok?" His mom smiled.

"How can you be so sure? There’s over one million beasts in the Orion galaxy. How the hell is 37,999 going to be the number he picks?" Seraphim sighed, all of his hope gone in his once rekindled eyes.

"His lucky number is 3, he wears the number 7 on his football jersey and he sings along to one of his favorite musical artists who always sings 999, also known as the angelic number on Earth. I just have a gut feeling that he’s going to select your number."

"We love you Seraphim. If it doesn’t work out, well, we just rest in this realm peacefully and hope it doesn’t go into pure chaos." Asura said with a kind smile.

"What about aunt Tiamat? Where the hell is she?" Seraphim asked with a frown.

"I’m not sure. However, you know how well your mom built that system and has tinkered with it over the years. It is now a limitless system that allows you to reach your full power once again." Bahamut grinned.

Ash woke up inside of Tyler’s chest and noticed Tyler was sleeping, cuddled in a sleeping bag with Sophie.

’Aw, the other ladies are up front keeping watch. It looks like they got an even bigger lead. Good for them.’ He thought, a tear forming in his eyes.

"Welcome back Ash. How are you? Are you ok?" Tyler asked, yawning.

"Hey Tyler, yeah, just had a really lucid dream." Ash said quietly, not wanting to wake the other familiars.

"One of my favorite artists had a song with a title similar to that. Crazy." Tyler smiled, rolling back over and cuddling Sophie.

"Yeah, it is pretty crazy isn’t it?" Ash laughed. "Get some more rest bud."

"You too. Sleep well."

"Yeah...I will. Hey Tyler?"

"Yeah what’s up?"

"Thanks for being you."

Tyler paused for a moment. Usually, he would crack another joke with him but something seemed different about this conversation and the way Ash was talking to him.

"You know I love you like a brother, right Ash?"

Ash smiled. "Yeah, and I love you like a brother too."

"Tyler, everything ok?" Sophie whispered, turning in the sleeping back to give him a kiss, staring him in the eyes.

"Yup. Never better. I love you Sophie." He said while kissing her back.

"I love you too," she smiled.
