Limitless Summoner System

Chapter 120: Another Reset!

  • Next Chapter

Everyone across the globe watched the clock strike zero anticipating a major change, but nothing came. The forest remained exactly the same. Rather than letting it confuse them, Tyler used it to their advantage.

"Leviathan, mega whirlpool now!"

The Armitage 2 students were swept up in the giant waves and rather than helping their enemies, Armitage 1’s team teleported away just as Tyler’s team got within striking distance.

"Another teleporter?!" Nyx exclaimed.

"No wonder they were able to get around this forest so fast together. It all makes sense now." Tyler said while casting magic at the students in the whirlpool.

They were easily swept away and more fireworks rocketed into the sky. There was no message from the dean, just two teams remaining and Ability Academy had the lead.

"Damnit!" Tyler screamed with disappointment.

"Fuck. I thought I had them both. I didn’t think they’d be able to teleport like that," Leviathan screamed in anger.

"Calm down, it’s fine. One more team to go and the forest didn’t change. That means we can slay beasts and map it. We’re all well rested. Let’s get going!" Ritsu said calmly.

Tyler had Nyx teleport them to various locations and noticed the mapping percentage slowly increasing.

After they killed more beasts, they watched both teams’ scores continue to increase. It was a consistent battle of who could slay more of the Eidolons and wild beasts roaming in the forest. They came across another ruby crate and Tyler told them to eat it all now. There was no sense in rationing anymore. They drank the potions, ate the flesh, blood bags and food and teleported to another area.

The hooded Eidolon kept lurking in the shadows, following the Ability Academy team around, mentally noting every move. Vox followed the Armitage students, keeping a safe distance to not tip them off.

Both schools continued looting and fighting for hours. The scores increased rapidly and the streams worldwide were going crazy. They were setting up perfectly and a team had already been eliminated after reset. That meant it set up an epic final showdown between the two on the last day.

Tyler and his group found another nest of hellhounds and quickly destroyed them. They were starting to get tired but Sophie saw another creation crystal glimmering on the ground, hidden under leaves.

"Tyler, over here!" She screamed enthusiastically while easily decapitating the lunging hellhounds. Black blood flew everywhere. These were similar to the ones they ran into their first night in the forest. Nothing too powerful and if they could handle them then, a horde of them was nothing now. They simply touched the crystals and watched their score go up.

Tyler quickly sprinted over and made quick work of the spawning beasts. Everyone, including the masked Eidolon, watched in amazement as Tyler absorbed the crystal with his staff.

[Ping! You can now summon gold ranked hellhounds in a limited capacity for a maximum of 5 minutes.]

"It worked again, thank you Sophie! Nice job everyone, we’re kicking ass!" Tyler smiled.

"Back to our base?" Nyx asked.

"Yes, please..." Kass said while breathing heavily.

"I need a break, I’m sorry everyone." Amanda said nervously.

"We told you, stop being sorry silly!" Sophie said while infusing some of her Qi into Amanda, which made her feel better.

Tyler smiled as they grabbed Nyx and held on tight. They arrived at their cave, relieved to see Armitage hadn’t found their actual hideout yet.

#1. Ability Academy - 40,205

#2. Armitage Academy - 36,455

2 teams left

Tyler made sure Gaia created duplicates of their fort again, this time with more face fronts to really make the Armitage team look. He sent out Ash, Shadow and Rex to try and track the Armitage team but after a few hours, they came back empty handed. While they were waiting, they went over their next strategy while Amanda and Sophie slept.

"Our plan worked wonderfully!" Lady Vivachel smiled while sitting at her temporary throne.

"Sometimes the best course of action is to let things play out naturally, great call Viva," One of the Eidolons said.

"My lady, Tyler’s staff can consume creation crystals as predicted. It’s a good thing Vox used the fail safe on the Generac Stone because once Tyler figures out he can consume those, he’ll be able to summon more powerful beasts without draining from his mana pool."

"Interesting. Vox, do you have any more tricks up your sleeve that could benefit us?"

"I’m sorry to disappoint you but I do not. I didn’t think Tyler would reveal Leviathan but now we know he has 8 and who they are. Seraphim isn’t near his full power yet, either. If we were to make a move on him, now would be the time..."

"No, now would not be the time," a giant dragon roared while darting down toward the table. She transformed into her human form at the last second and Vivachel stood up.

"You’re back earlier than expected. Did everything go ok?" Viva asked.

"Better than expected. Also, Tyler is not strong enough for me to consume. The goal is to eradicate him and all of his familiars in one fell swoop, but it would be pointless if I’m not powerful enough to fight my brother." Tiamat grinned.

"Why not take him out now when he’s weak? He holds 3 of the Primdorials..." One of the Eidolons suggested.

"Yes, but he will have plenty more as he grows as a summoner. Let’s call this a short term loss for a long term gain. We still control the forest and there’s nothing they can do to stop that. It’s part of the school’s history and even if they shut it down, it serves our purpose quite well. Endless food and we control the cycles." The dragon goddess grinned.

Tyler woke up suddenly. He didn’t remember falling asleep but saw Nyx and Kass snuggled up next to him. Sophie and Amanda were awake and talking quietly.

’What the hell was that dream?’ He thought while scratching his head.

"You ok Tyler? You seem shaken up." Ash asked, concerned.

"Yeah, when did I fall asleep?I don’t even remember lying down."

"You dozed off on Nyx’s shoulder so they teleported you to sleep. What happened?"

"I had the strangest dream. I was playing football back on Earth but there was a pair of these really creepy red eyes watching me." Tyler said while running his hand through his hair.

Sophie noticed but didn’t say anything. She knew he was talking to his familiars and that he would open up to them when he was ready. Amanda caught it too, but the two kept talking strategy for their final day.

"That is weird. Tiamat has red eyes," Leviathan said bluntly.

"You think I was being watched that many years ago?!" Tyler nervously exclaimed.

"No, I don’t. I just think your subconscious is playing with your head. This tournament has been stressful and if Ritsu’s guess is correct, we need to win this thing and get the hell out of this forest before she gets a hold of us." Ash said calmly and sternly.

"Got it. How much time is left on the timer?"

"3 hours." Ritsu said calmly.
