Chapter 128: Overnight Celebrities (1)

After the interview wrapped, Susan pulled the girls aside. She allowed them to keep the dresses and encouraged them not to speak about the interview until after it aired later that night. The interview only took twenty minutes and they were grabbed after breakfast, but Susan warned them they would become overnight celebrities. Well, everyone aside from Nyx. The girls laughed as Nyx teased them about also being new popular kids.

The Dean grabbed Tyler and basically told him he was relying on him to bring home all the events he was in for the school. He wanted to confirm he was indeed SSS and after Tyler explained the Forest situation in great detail, the head of the school became quite concerned about the forest.

He immediately made staff members put magical barriers around it that no one could pass with signs that read: "Enter at risk of death."

Tiamat had her usual Eidolon group in the meeting area laughing about the recent events. She got the forest all to herself like she wanted and knew the Necram threat would be a problem. She planned on staying neutral in the war but informed her Eidolons that if it got to the point the planet would be destroyed, they would get involved in the war.

She knew her hands were tied by the laws of not being able to directly aid humanity despite flirting with that line indirectly. The forest was a great training ground for students for several centuries but now served as their personal playground and feeding zone. They could continue to create and test new types of creation nests, power up from killing powerful beasts and she contemplated returning the Realm of Summoned Monsters.

That possibility quickly left her head with the memories of her brother banishing her.

’Stupid fucking older brother. He should have allowed me access at least!’ She thought angrily.

Tyler and the girls teleported back to the dorms and got changed into their regular uniforms. They were glad they didn’t have classes and decided to check out some of the other events. One event had students creating new pieces of technology out of the same magical box each person was given at the start.

"Come on bro! You got this!" Tyler cheered and was immediately surrounded by admiring students.

"Please let me date you!"

"You’re so hot, would you take me out too? I have friends!"

"Bro I heard you have a formal party... I don’t even care that we go to BloodCrest. Can we hang out and get in with your group?"

It was the exact same for the girls. Anywhere they went they were immediately flocked by suitors, with the exception of Nyx. Everyone knew better, even the other schools after they failed miserably when hitting on her the previous year.

"Sophie you’re gorgeous be mine!"

"Amanda, you are so hot, let me take you out!"

"Kass I’ll be your knight in shining armor!"

They all laughed and politely thanked them and walked away. Tyler was bummed the Ability Academy student placed fourth, but it still added a little bit to their score. They were now practically in a two school race with Armitage, who was only 10,000 points behind them.

"When does dueling start?" Tyler asked Nyx, who looked annoyed.

"Singles start tomorrow and duos start the day after. Amanda’s Qi competition is in three days and Sophie and I have that target challenge next week. This thing doesn’t stop, it gets kind of annoying if I’m being honest."

"Cheer up babe," Tyler said while giving her a hug and kiss to the cat-calls and whistles of other students.

Sophie, Kass and Amanda walked up and grabbed Nyx’s hand.

"Take us to the castle or something?" Sophie asked politely.

The group teleported there and Tyler followed them. He was proud of himself that he was learning this skill so quickly, even if he ended up in the wrong area. He quickly walked through the halls, greeted some of the vampires and met up with Nyx and the others in the courtyard.

"What’s the matter Nyx, you still look irritated," Sophie said with a hug.

"It’s just this whole tournament is annoying. It was different when I was some random powerful unknown princess most people didn’t think much of but now, we can’t go anywhere without being mobbed by a group of people," she said while rolling her eyes.

"It’ll probably be worse after that interview airs tonight. Why do you let it get to you so much? You’re a princess, you should be used to the attention," Tyler playfully nudged her and winked.

"Ugh, you’re right. That forest was just stupid. I guess I’m still irritated over all of that. Can we go out for dinner or something tonight?" She asked eagerly.

"Of course we can, where do you want to go?" Amanda said with a large smile.

They all enjoyed a meal at their favorite restaurant and the waiter made sure people didn’t give them any attention. That didn’t stop the occasional cheers for them, but they were able to kick back, relax and enjoy a nice meal.

"So how’s it feel to be the King of campus kid?" Ash joked.

"Better than being a nobody!" Tyler laughed.

"You have a great group of women. Most would be throwing a fit with how many women are hitting on you but they trust you and love you so much it doesn’t bother them." Vivian said cheerfully.

"Do you think that’s what is really wrong with Nyx? Do you think all the recent attention I’m getting is driving her insane?" Tyler asked seriously.

"Maybe. Try pulling her aside and asking her?" Ash suggested.

"Hey Nyx, you got a minute?" Tyler asked with a large smile.

"Sure babe what’s up?" Nyx asked.

Tyler grabbed her hand and excused them while placing his blazer over her shoulders. They were wearing dresses and looked nice.

"You know I’m not going to invite anyone else to this little group and I’m marrying you in two weeks. Nothing has changed," Tyler smiled while kissing her gently.

He felt her warm lips pressed against his and could feel her arms wrap around his neck. She felt much more relaxed than she did the rest of the evening.

"Good. Because all this attention is driving me nuts," she finally admitted.

"I knew something was off. Seriously, I can’t help that people are hitting on me or that men are hitting on the other girls. We’re in this together, just us. No one else matters ok?" Tyler said while staring in her deep crimson eyes.

Nyx smiled and hugged him tightly. "Good, because sometimes I worry that you’re going to find someone better."

"Better than you and the other girls?! Nyx..." Tyler frowned.

"I couldn’t do anything to protect you when Tiamat was in your head. The thought of losing you scares the hell out of me. We’re supposed to be immortal and not have to worry about those things," she said with tears forming in her eyes.

"No matter what happens we’ll be together, all of us, don’t worry ok? I love you with all my heart." Tyler smiled.
