Chapter 623: Chapter 401: Vajra Indestructible? What a Coincidence, So Am I.
The appearance of the "Martial Artist" gave Zhou Chen an intense sense of danger.
Even from dozens of meters away, he could clearly hear the blood coursing through the Martial Artist’s body. It sounded like the surging tides of a great river, brimming with vigorous life. From this alone, he could deduce that the Martial Artist had reached the "Vajra Indestructible" state.
Humanity’s pursuit of physical perfection has never ceased. From mechanical prosthetics to genetic modification, from drug enhancement to Extraordinary evolution, countless methods now exist to strengthen the human body. A normal person could drink a single bottle of an Advanced genetic Enhancement Potion, and within a month, all their physical metrics would reach the peak of human potential. With a little training, they could easily surpass those limits.
Then there were Extraordinary Artifacts that enhanced the body, which could even grant a normal person a physique comparable to that of a Strength Type Ascender.
The so-called Vajra Indestructible state meant skin like iron and bones like steel. It was a complete cleansing of the body, down to the marrow. It allowed one to perfectly mobilize every inch of muscle, every ounce of power, and every shred of spirit. Even before reaching the level of a Tier Three Ascender, one’s physical body could transcend its mortal shackles. Even if they were to die on the spot, their body would remain uncorrupted for centuries, as lifelike as an Ancient Buddha in meditation.
Upon reaching this state, an Ascender’s body would become terrifyingly powerful. Even a Non-Power Type Ascender could withstand a hail of bullets without any protection, walk through high-temperature Fiery Fire, meditate in a blizzard wearing only a thin robe, or dive into the deep sea without any protective gear.
If a Strength Type Ascender achieved the Vajra Indestructible state, their combat effectiveness would skyrocket exponentially. Breaking the sound barrier with their physical body would be effortless. At a slightly higher level, they could even stroll through space without a suit.
Yet, even with the countless body-strengthening methods available in modern society, those who could achieve the Vajra Indestructible state were exceedingly rare. Even if someone chugged Enhancement Potions, injected gene therapies, and used physique-enhancing Extraordinary Artifacts daily, 99.9999...99 percent of people would never be able to reach this state.
Like countless other arts in the World, this was a path that required superhuman talent and years of grueling, ascetic training to even begin.
Until now, Zhou Chen had only ever met one person in real life who had achieved the Vajra Indestructible state: Li Xiye. He had only read about other cases online, such as the "Unmoving Bright King."
Among them was a Crowned King who had earned the title "Power King." Legend had it that he often traveled alone to the region near Mercury to bathe in intense solar radiation as part of his training, claiming it improved his circulation. He had achieved the Vajra Indestructible state at the age of twenty-five while still a Tier Two, rising to prominence from that point on. His talent was simply astonishing.
There was also an Ascetic Monk from India who, after training arduously into his seventies, finally cultivated the "Leakless Golden Embryo," thereby gaining an ability similar to a Golden Dragon’s immunity to all techniques.
Aside from these famous Crowned Kings of old, there hadn’t been any news of an Ascender achieving the Vajra Indestructible Body in recent years. Zhou Chen had actually been optimistic about Yao Hu, but when they spoke a while back, he learned that even Yao Hu was still a long way off from achieving it.
And now, a young man in his early twenties who had achieved the Vajra Indestructible state had appeared right before his very eyes. How could that not be shocking?
"Mm, I can feel it. You’re utterly shocked. It seems you know what you’re looking at." The Martial Artist laughed proudly. "I began my grueling Martial Arts training at the age of five, awakened my Extraordinary Abilities at six, achieved Vajra Indestructible at eighteen, and grasped Fist Intent at twenty. When it comes to talent and achievements, I’m confident I’m second to none. To die by my hand is your greatest honor!"
"Ah..." Zhou Chen couldn’t help but chuckle. "What was that you just said?"
"To die by my hand is your greatest honor," the Martial Artist repeated, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Not that one, the one before it." Zhou Chen looked like he was struggling to hold back his laughter.
"When it comes to talent and achievements, I’m confident I’m second to none." A flash of displeasure crossed the Martial Artist’s narrowed eyes. He felt that Zhou Chen was insulting him.
"Yes, yes, that’s the one." Zhou Chen pointed a mocking finger toward the Tier Four battlefield in the sky. "My girlfriend awakened at seventeen and achieved Vajra Indestructible at twenty. It only took her three years. You started your Martial Arts training as a child and took thirteen years to achieve it... How do you have the nerve to say something like that?"
"There is always someone better, a higher mountain to climb. This World is home to a select few peerless geniuses who defy all logic. Anyone would be humbled in their presence. I’m not arrogant enough to compare myself to them." To Zhou Chen’s surprise, the Martial Artist didn’t get angry. Instead, he explained calmly.
He was a Martial Artist who revered Power and respected unparalleled experts like Li Xiye.
"So you’re saying I don’t count as a peerless genius?" Zhou Chen asked.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" The Martial Artist burst out laughing, clutching his stomach as if he’d just heard the funniest joke in the world. He threw Zhou Chen’s own words back at him: "How do you have the nerve to say something like that?"
"Then what would you say if I told you I achieved Vajra Indestructible in three weeks?" Zhou Chen asked with a shrug.
"..."
In the silence that followed, the Martial Artist stared at him in confusion. "What did you just say?"
Zhou Chen didn’t answer. Instead, he launched a dishonorable sneak attack, using Flame Jump to instantly appear before the Martial Artist. In that same instant, the fiery glow of his Essence Incarnation surged, shining as brightly as a small Sun. Then, a terrifying explosion erupted from his body.
—Elemental Bomb + Destruction of All Things + Fivefold Prayer Amplification!
A pale flower of destruction bloomed upon the earth. A scorching, searing wind spread out in all directions, followed closely by the light of the explosion, which engulfed the mob of thugs gathered a street away.
