Chapter 624: Chapter 401: Vajra Indestructible? What a Coincidence, So Am I (Part 2)

In an instant, they were reduced to skeletons in the flames, and then the skeletons were burned to ash.

Amidst the blinding light, the Martial Artist was sent flying backward, battered and bruised. His flesh was torn, his body covered in wounds, and his skin was charred black and peeling away from the flames. The arm he had hastily thrown up to defend himself was caved in, bearing the clear imprint of a fist. Within the mangled flesh, a pale flame burned, incinerating both body and Soul.

’What?!’

The Martial Artist was shocked. ’My Vajra Indestructible Body has actually been breached!’

"The Vajra Indestructible Body isn’t truly unbreakable. It just means you’ve never faced an enemy with enough Attack Power to breach it."

From within the lingering light of the explosion, a Crystal Spear radiating a dream-like halo—the Dream Light and Shadow—shot out at high speed. The Martial Artist, with his quick reflexes, kicked it aside, sending it careening toward a large building.

BOOM!

The slender Long Spear plunged into it like a missile. The building collapsed in the ensuing explosion, and the falling debris crushed countless thugs on the street below.

The Martial Artist had just landed his blow when Zhou Chen appeared before him without any warning. The engine nozzles of the Steel Phoenix wings on his back were blasting out radiant flames.

At this moment, Zhou Chen’s face was solemn and his eyes were cold. His entire aura had changed, transforming into that of an erupting Demon volcano. Standing so close, the Martial Artist felt his breath catch; even his Soul felt suffocated by the pressure.

This was purely a form of spiritual oppression!

Zhou Chen focused all his Power into a single point. A blinding fiery light erupted from his fist as he aimed for the Martial Artist’s face and unleashed a strike of immense force.

The Martial Artist’s pupils contracted instantly as he entered a state of ethereal focus. His fingers moved quickly, forming the shape of a blooming golden lotus. He gently tapped Zhou Chen’s fist, redirecting the punch elsewhere.

Zhou Chen’s control over his Power was perfect. He instantly retracted the terrifying, volcanic force in his fist. Following the momentum of the Martial Artist’s redirection, he twisted his arm. His steel fist transformed into a natural-looking hand-blade that he thrust viciously at the Martial Artist’s throat!

The Martial Artist’s feet slid, and he glided strangely three meters backward. He pulled a Long Saber from thin air and swung it. With a CLANG, he parried Zhou Chen’s hand-blade. He then stomped his foot and brought the saber down in a straight chop. The move looked simple, but it contained the power to split mountains.

CRACK!

Zhou Chen formed both his hands into steel blades to block, but they were instantly severed by the strike. The blades shattered, and a deep gash was carved into his chest. He didn’t retreat or create distance. Instead, he leaped forward, ramming into his opponent head-on. With a tremendous crash, he sent the Martial Artist flying.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE! In mid-air, the sound of bones shattering echoed from within the Martial Artist’s body. Under the force of Zhou Chen’s ram, his Vajra Indestructible Body had suffered broken bones and torn tendons!

Not only that, but in addition to the ferocious force, a sinister, insidious power surged into his body, wreaking havoc on his internal organs and causing his vision to go black.

At this point, the Martial Artist had no choice but to believe what Zhou Chen had said earlier—Zhou Chen had truly mastered the Vajra Indestructible Body as well!

If he hadn’t mastered the Vajra Indestructible Body, even in his state of steel and fire Essence Materialization, Zhou Chen wouldn’t have been able to budge him with all his Abilities active. In fact, he would have been injured by the recoil!

WHOOSH!!!

Everything had happened in a flash. Only now did the sound of Zhou Chen’s sonic boom attack and the subsequent shockwave begin to spread. A pale Fiery Fire suddenly erupted from beneath his feet, spreading outward like the tide. All metal objects were melted into molten iron, which then fed his steel body. The wounds on his arms and chest healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

A light flashed in his eyes as he shot out two beams of Spiritual Death Light. At the same time, he made a wish in his heart:

’Triple the power!’

[Wish Points -300]

His Wish Points hadn’t recovered much, and now only seven hundred remained. Zhou Chen naturally had to use them sparingly, only boosting his power at critical, decisive moments.

The tripled-power Spiritual Death Light hit the Martial Artist. A holy feather lit up on his forehead, blocking most of the damage. The feather then shattered with a crack, and the remaining Spiritual Death Light slammed into his mind, causing the Martial Artist to grunt in pain.

"Burst!"

With a thought from Zhou Chen, the Cyan Flame lingering in the Martial Artist’s body and spirit instantly detonated. A loud roar and a burst of fire erupted from within the Martial Artist’s body. His right leg and left arm vanished in an instant, sending shattered flesh and bone flying.

"Compared to Xiye, your purity is still too low."

In a flash of fire, Zhou Chen appeared before the Martial Artist, wielding the re-formed Dream Light and Shadow. He used the Long Spear like a Long Saber, unleashing dozens of slashes in a row that swept out like a torrential storm.

Although crippled, the Martial Artist could still fight back. He roared, his eyes bloodshot, and gripped his Long Saber to meet the attack. Despite his grievous injuries, his strikes still broke the sound barrier!

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!!

The two clashed head-on in a frenzied exchange of blows. Countless sparks flew from the point of impact, and shockwaves rolled out one after another like an endless tide, shaking the very earth and kicking up clouds of dust.

Zhou Chen’s high-speed slashes heated the air with friction until it seemed ready to ignite. His speed increased, faster and faster, each strike coming from an unexpected angle. His unconventional attacks were like an all-pervading storm, covering every direction.

Gradually, the Martial Artist failed to catch his breath. In a life-or-death battle like this, the slightest moment of Weakness would lead to a gruesome end!

Zhou Chen seized the opportunity, his assault suddenly growing even more ferocious. After three moves, he broke through the Martial Artist’s defense. After five, he completely shattered his stance.

Finally, Zhou Chen gripped the Long Spear and lunged forward. A single move, "White Rainbow Pierces the Sun," cut off all the Martial Artist’s escape routes and stabbed irresistibly into his heart.

A roar erupted as the surging power pulverized the Martial Artist’s heart.

In the final moments of his life, the Martial Artist saw Zhou Chen’s arm transform into a steel blade, which he brought down casually toward his neck.

Decapitation!

A head, its face frozen in an expression of disbelief, flew into the air before rolling to the ground, lifeless.

Zhou Chen exhaled a breath of scorching hot air. ’That guy was a truly formidable opponent. To last this long against me and even injure me...’

The Martial Artist’s Extraordinary Ability was Physique Enhancement. He didn’t have many flashy Extraordinary techniques; his advantage lay in his tyrannical physical body. He could close the distance and kill most Ascenders before they could even cast their abilities, even charging straight through their Extraordinary Abilities. Once he got into close range, death was the only outcome.

But against an opponent like him, who had a plethora of Extraordinary Abilities and a comparable physique, the Martial Artist’s advantage was completely nullified. This didn’t mean, however, that he could defeat the Martial Artist easily.

If not for his dishonorable sneak attack at the start—using an Elemental Bomb plus Destruction of All Things, boosted by a wish to grievously wound the Martial Artist—this battle might have lasted much longer, and the outcome would have been far more uncertain.

’The Vajra Indestructible Body is no joke.’

’Good thing I have it too.’

From the moment he’d learned of a physical state like the "Vajra Indestructible Body," Zhou Chen had been determined to master it himself.

It was a bit embarrassing to admit, but his initial motivation for mastering the Vajra Indestructible Body was actually to have a better experience in bed with Li Xiye and the others...

After all, Li Xiye’s physical constitution was just too ferocious. It would be embarrassing if his own body couldn’t keep up.

Of course, this goal didn’t conflict with his desire for greater Power.

Later, under Li Xiye’s guidance, he realized just how difficult it was to master the Vajra Indestructible Body. Normally, it would have taken him at least three to five years of arduous training to achieve it.

But luckily, he had a cheat.

The Hammer of Forging had tempered his body and Soul, allowing his physique to reach the peak of an Ascender of the same rank. Afterward, he had used wishes to progressively strengthen his body, and just like that, he eventually mastered the Vajra Indestructible state.

In total, the entire process had taken less than three weeks.

Looking back at the Martial Artist, his talent was truly astounding. He had mastered the Vajra Indestructible Body after thirteen years of training. In the Ascension Realm, he was definitely a top-tier talent at the peak of the Pyramid.

Unfortunately, no amount of talent could beat a cheat.
